May 18, 2010i have a flex app that transitions between 2 states with the toggle of a button. my issue is that the effect of fading only seems to work on the 2nd transition and after. However, for my first transition... going from State1 to studyState... there is no fade effect whatsoever, in fact the components in state1 disappear completely (the footer fills the empty gap where the "body" use to be) and then the flex recreates the studyState (without any fade refilling the "body" with components only in studyState). After this first transition however, going between studyState and State1 working COMPLETELY fine.. why does this happen and how can i make it so that crossfade works STARTING FROM THE VERY FIRST TRANSITION?[code]

It works so far, but the attached MC are "pulsating" - if I change them with another MC (with text inside) I can't use them as a Menu links - they are "pulsating" too much and I can't read/see the text properly. where in code I can change(reduce) this "pulsation"? how can I make the MC-s cklickable=working as a buttons with mouseover/mouseout effects (changing color etc.)

Feb 2, 2010I've been searching tirelessly for some good image transition effects to no avail. I've only found 3 or 4 and they aren't what I want. The tutorials on this site aren't categorized in a way that makes it easy to find effects for images, etc, and I haven't found any good ones so far.
Where's a good place to look besides say, flashkit?
I'm looking for a good "blidshade" style effect for images, if you know of one.

Aug 28, 2006I have MX and MX 2004. I'm building myself a website and I have a logo that's displayed in the center of the stage. I have 6 different colored logos. I would like the grey logo(main logo) to blur and jitter a little while blurred when it's moused-over. I would also like to create a transition so that when people view a different section (lets say the teal colored section) of my site, the grey logo will blur and jitter while blurred, but also fade/transition into the teal logo. purple for the purple section, etc... I know how to do fading tweens, however I don't know actionscript very well at all. part of it even if it all can't be done together. I'd like some version of this effect if possible.

Sep 10, 2009I've created a rotating navigation menu with 4 parts/submenus. To make the rotation/spinning graphics look smoother On rollover of one of the submenu/movieclip (the rotation will stop and continue on rollout), it should hide/decrease the alpha of other submenus, so a rollover effect could be seen. I've already tried with this:

But when on mouse rollout, the hovered submenu/movieclip does not continue to rotate.

Dec 10, 2011I'm new to Actionscript 3.0 and I want to create an interactive menu. On the left as I hover over the button "products" I want a sub menu to come into view (as seen in the graphic below). I've created all the graphics but there are a lot of translation issues.
Here is the code I've used:

Jan 21, 2006I am am loading external SWF files into main file from XML created menu.I want to make TRANSITIONS between loaded files, but this Kiripa tutorial does not work for me since I can not give each button sepparate code. All buttons come from xml.
At the moment If I do all by tutorial all menu buttons start to load same link which and transition works, but yeah I need menu to understand that it must load new swf not that same.I know it is possible, but I do not know how it is made, so if anyone could help me I would be very happy!

Jan 5, 2011I am a Trainee Web Designer. I have done a few major projects for websites and stuff using alot of Adobe Programs but i have this job where i need to make a map of a school with rollover mouse effects. So when the mouse rolls over the Admin Building on the map, a large picture of the Admin Building comes up. Then when the mouse is moved away the images closes. I need to do that with about 8 images. I have one main image which is an arial of the school, then there is different sections that i need to make 'active'
How can i go about doing this? i have looked for tutorials for ages now but they are either outdated or too advanced for me, i just need a tutorial that can show me how to achieve my goal. i cotton onto things very quickly so i dont get lost unless things get too advanced or there is a lack of explanation.

And on the movie clip:

Inside the movie clip, has a bunch of tweens, and on frame one I declare the variable and get the y position of another movie clip (the one that is moving in the tweens) It's instance name is portfolio_graph.On frame 1:
var y_portfolio; // y position of the movie clip that I'm tweening
y_portfolio = portfolio_graph._y;
And on frame 51 is where it should go when it's pressed.

hen I press, it disapears the first time. When I do move my mouse over another button ( each button affects the other two ) portfolio_graph moves to roughly -17 ( eye-balled it ).. actually looking at it again, it looks like its playing from halfway through the animation and in reverse.
