ActionScript 2.0 :: How To Play Movie Based On URL
Apr 5, 2004
How I can play a movie based on the url you are at? I got a swf movie included in my indexpage: index.php. With PHP different content is included in the framework based on the $_GET['page'] variable with PHP. Basically the swf's menu just uses urls like 'index.php?page=home' or 'index.php?page=contact'. Now I only want to play a movieclip in the swf if im on the homepage (index.php?page=home) and not on the other pages. Is this possible with AS?

On Scene1 I'm trying to add some script that will continuosly recognize what the x axis value is and if it is greater than 600 it is supposed to play frame 1 of the movie, and if it is less than 600 than it is supposed to play frame 10. The code I'm using seems to work, but only at the initial startup of the movie. How do I modify this code to have it continually updating the shoot movie based on where the mouse is at on the movie?
I wondered how to set up a flash movie that read an xml doc and depending on the value of a variable, opened a movieclip or not. so if the xml doc had a variable "cool" that had a value of "on", flash would do something like...
I have an swf file on the homepage that is the intro followed a menu. When the user types the URL for the home page from an outside site, I need the entire flash file to play from frame 1, but if you have already seen it and then clicked around to subpages within the site and then want to go back to the home page , I want the movieclip to start from a specified keyframe.
I recently got back into animating and I need some help with my latest project. I have a number of different animations that I would like to be played on the inside of a tv, however I would like for these animations to play at certain times. For example, at 9:00 pm (real time) the tv displays the animation of the character sleeping. I'm not sure how to do this, and I'm not sure if I need an internal clock.
I am making flash CS4-based music player with ActionScript 3. When I host the player on my site, e.g. [URL], and play an mp3 on the server of my site, e.g.[URL], it works well.
When I link to an mp3 of another site, e.g. [URL], in my local machine, it also works. However, when I host the music player in my site [URL], and play an mp3 of [URL], then it can't be played.
I want a movie clip (let's call it homecontent_MC) with 100 frames play to frame 80 and stop.Then when someone clicks a button on the navigation bar (home, about, services, contact, etc...) homecontent_MC would then begin playing from it's position (frame 80) til it reaches 100, at which point it wouldn't be on screen, and the movie clip that corresponds to the navigation button press (say services_MC...) would start from frame 1 and continue til it stops at it's frame 80...
I have five different scenes all including three different buttons. When I test the buttons in "play scene" - all buttons sounds correctly in all scenes. But when I play movie, there is sound only with one button (the same button in every scene). I have looked for differences, but this button seem to have all the same parameters as the others.
I am creating a site, and it has a animation that it has to play before loading the next section. What I cant figure out is what function I need to create so that when a user clicks on the vision button it will play the frame after stop(); which will close that section, then have it load the frame for the section that the person clicked on. The only way I can think of doing this is creating 3 different close animations for the three sections. But I figure there has to be a way to have it play the one close animation and then goto the frame which is the portfolio section or vision section (depending on the button clicked).

I am absolutely new to animation, I have created a movie for web page (using Flash 8)purpose:
--movie is the navigation menu for few of my website's pages.
--uses gotoAndPlay() to play a different animation (in same movie) for each web page.
Works, but late, movie plays from 1st to 61st frame (on 61st frame there is a code gotoAndPlay(1);) then it moves to actual frame number. In the 1st frame of my movie I insert this actionscript:
//code starts import flash.external.ExternalInterface; var surlPath;
I wanna make a swf movie which changes according to the page that published. I have a wordpress page and it has different (8 languages). On each language page my swf looks the same... I want that it changes in each language page for example it calls a behavior on and it calls another action oni tried this code:
function getURLhttp() { var urlPath = ExternalInterface.call("window.location.href.toStr ing"); urlActions();

I have a flash banner that includes a movie clip of the logo being animated. I want the logo animation to only run at the beginning of the main "movie". Currently I have to find the length of the entire movie (for ex. 500 frames) then put a key frame in at the 500th frame of the logo movie clip. I know there has to be a correct way to do this...Do I add a frame name at the end of the main timeline and somehow in AS in the logo movie clip say "when you reach X goToAndPlay(1);"?
i'm trying to play several movie clips, one after the other from one main movie clip.i've got 8 movie clips, "m1.swf", "m2.swf", etc. "m8.swf", and one main movie clip, "play.swf".i've tried using loadMovie, but it only plays the last movie clip. this is what i've got. in the main movie clip, i've put a play button, and the actionscript i have in the button is:
Is there a way to have a pre-loader based on a single movie clip, instead of on the entire SWF size? This movie clip may have a single graphic, but the entire movie has a slideshow with more images to display...but rather than making my visitor wait for the entire site to download before they see anything, I'd like to have it so when that graphic is loaded, it displays while the rest of the movie finishes loading. And there would be a preloader that shows the progression of the single movie clip.
i have a button thats adds a movie clip to the stage...the movie clip height is bigger than the stage. is it possible to have the stage "extend" when you click the button to show the whole movie clip?
ActionScript Code: addPic.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, addImage); function addImage(event:MouseEvent):void{ var mc:MovieClip = new testClip(); this.addChild(mc); }
kinda like this i guess [URL] when you click on the flash on that page it expands and stuff
Is there a way to fade a movie clip out based on the proximity of the mouse? Basically if my mouse is greater than 100 pixels away from a movie clip, I want the movie clip to fade to 0 and stay invisible.
Is it possible to do what this tutorial shows but instead of having your mcs be positioned related to the stage, have them be positioned related to the browser window?
I got a flash file which reads xml data and based on total data I need to duplicate movie clips and show them horizontally. Till now i have read the data and displayed it but dont have idea how to display them horizontally.
Code: i = 0; level = 100;[code]....
I have done this till now, it duplicates the movie clip but when i want it to change its x coordinate it shows error
**Error** Symbol=mc_contentHolder, layer=Action, frame=1, Line 20: There is no property with the name 'x'. newClip.x = 328;
Basically what I'm trying to do is make a sundial-style clock animation. I'm using AS2 in Flash CS4. I'm still quite new to Flash so my AS know-how is slightly limited...
I want to get the time from the user's computer (I'm using getHours) and make a line (movie clip) rotate to a certain angle based on the hour. Eg. 1pm = 13 degrees, 2pm = 26 degrees and so on. This is the script I have so far and all it seems to do is rotate the movie clip to 90 degrees.
I have my flash document set up in the following way: On the main timeline I have my buttons that I want to play movie clips embedded inside a movie clip on the main timeline.However, when I click each different button, the current movie clip stops playing and then the movie clip corresponding to the button plays.
I want them all to be able to play at once. So for example you push button 1 and the alien plays, but half way through you could click button 2 and the alien clip would keep playing, but also the helicopter clip would begin to play as well.Here is the code I have so far:
building_btn1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, alien); building_btn2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, helicopter); function helicopter(e:MouseEvent):void {[code]......
I'm trying to make a flash website that has clickable buttons that will play different movie clips. But I dont know how to make it to just play the movie clip with the button you click without playing all the movie clips on the main timeline.
