I'm making a portfolio, it has a large amount of images, one by work, (maybe there are 25) and they are put in a horizontal band, the images all have the same height, but not he same width, and they load an external MC of each work.So I want to create an array storing all this values, _width, and MC to load.
Secondly I have a frame like a stroke of the picture, the frame is in the center of the band of images, and there are two arrows, one to move on the band to the left, and other to the right. The thing is that when I push the arrow the band must move 15 px on left or right, and te frame must adapt (with easing) to the _width of the image.And one more thing, there will be many many images in a future, so I would like that a user if it's holding the left or the right arrow for a medium/long time it could make the band of images to go faster from one to another. I think it's so simple of changing the speed of the movement, what I don`t kwow is how to know if the button is pressed for a long-meidum time.
Goal: load XML data (it parses automatically), parse through the XML tree and assign the values to an array of my choosing for access later in the movie. I've been searching for ever for a solution to sort a numeric array that I create from an xml file. All I can sort is the first digit of each number. So I get this for example: 4,4,4,3,23,2,2,10,1,1,1,1,1,1,0,0,0,0,0,0,023 should be first! How to I fix that?Here is my code:

View 9 RepliesI am trying display values in a datagrid in my application. I have all the values as an xml file. I had only one set of record n the XML file, to fill only one row of the data grid. While trying to store the values from the XML file to an Array Collection in the application File using the code, i.e.,

I have written a logic to collect the values of those particular months into an array, but not understading how to pass this array to Bar chart,, beacuse there I don't know what Xfield and Yfield to be given....
I'm using the .unshift method therefore the newest values go into [0] and the rest are pushed down.

I have some variables created on the main timeline and a mc called options which will be where those variables can be manipulated. A way I've tried to this is by creating a first array(array1) and populating it will all the variable names found on the main timeline, and another array(array2) containing the values of the variables the user has changed(which are displayed on some dynamic text fields). I wrote this script a while ago and it's worked extremely well for me ever since. I use it in nearly every project I do. But the other day I was asked to do a project where I could only use Flash 7.
This is a class I made to easily handle multiple file preloading by passing it an array of files to load. It only has two useful methods. One gets you the current total progress (total of all the files 0-100%) and an onLoadComplete. The actual usage is in the top of the file. It works great under Flash 8, so go ahead and use it.

Though it does control volume properly, if I set the initial volume to less than 100%, the volume always starts at 100% until I move my mouse over the player. At that point, the volume changes to whatever the initial volume is set to.Is this a flash bug, or am I missing something? Here is the affected code (code for other buttons/functions omitted for brevity):

I'm building a video player and am kinda stuck at the volume slider part. It's a YouTube style vertical slider, meaning if the slider is in the top position volume should be 100% and if the slider is dragged to the bottom position sound should be 0. Currently it's doing the opposite of what I want :(
Dragging the slider down will make the sound louder, while dragging up lowers it.

The (-4) is an offset value so when you drag it all the way to turn it off, it's 0 and not 4. I need to reverse this somehow, so the traces above will swap... going down will make userVolume = 4 and going up will make it 30.

But I have a piece of video with audio in another scene and I would like to have the sound file playing at a lower volume while the video is playing, then get it to return to normal volume when the video is over.

View 3 RepliesI am relatively new to Flash CS3. I need to create a video file add a skin and put a voice over or background music. I have done all of it but I have a problem with the skin. On the skin there is a volume button for the video. How can I mute or control the volume of the video? Just like in youtube for example. You can turn it up or down. What is the code for it? Because when I click on the button to mute ir or turn it down it doesn't do anything to the volume. I had a separate video and a song but I went to Windows Movie Maker and associated the song with the video so now it is a whole: video with a song. View 1 RepliesI've got a serious of games which in turn load off a main main swf.I have mute and unmute buttons on the main menu and the same buttons in each game.When I unload/load a game I want the volume to stay as it is so they player doesn't have to keep turning the volume off. AudioOff is the button shown when the volume is off and AudioOn is the button shown when the volume is on.The code I've got now keeps the volume on or off through the games but the buttons aren't showing up correct with this code..

I converted the slider bar and slider button to buttons. Then, I made the slider button into a movie clip.

It seems right to me but I don't know. The movie button slides down the slider bar but it just doesn't affect the volume. Going to try to attach my FLA to offer better insight. Just tried to upload it and no matter if it's FLA or zipped FLA, it says it failed.
