ActionScript 2.0 :: Method Of Rotating Multiple Movieclips?

The section in my code that does the rotating is in _root.onEnterFrame. Each movieclip is moved up/down an notch at a time within a 'for' loop. this loop is within a larger 'for' loop depending how many catagories to move up/down. I shall include this section of code for; i hope, better understanding

Trying to use the setMask method and having trouble. I have it working on my dynamic text, but I am trying to mask the movieclip that is loading my image from the server. I have a moviclip called Comments. And in it I have movieclips called textbox and image
I have one setMask AS like this for the textbox
this.textbox.setMask(this.mc_mask2); - this one works
But for image I have the same thing and it doesn't work. I have
this.image.setMask(this.mc_mask);

I'm using the mc_tween2.as tween class and the slideTo method for moving objects around on the screen.
What I'm trying to do is to have the objects rotate "x" degrees when clicked. Right now, they move, let's say, 20px across the x-axis. But I want it to move 20px while rotating 15 degress clockwise. Is that possible using this method?
I know there's a way to rotate objects using the _rotation feature, but that doesn't move it using any tweens; it just "snaps" it into place. I'm looking to rotate the object using a tween, while sliding sliding around using the slideTo method.

I'm working on a new site and one of the things the client likes most is the idea of these gears that are constantly rotating on the screen. However, now that I have the mock-up design done, I'm noticing that the constant rotation requires a lot of CPU to maintain. Has anyone else experienced this and have you figured out a better method than the one I am using to rotate the movieclips?

If I click on mc1, then mc1 has to go to the position of mc3, mc3 has to go to the position of mc2. The same thing must happen when I click on mc2, it has to move to the position of mc3 and mc3 has to move to the position of mc1. I would like to create some kind of infinitive effect by rotating the mc's. In a later stadium I want to fill the mc's with pictures.

I have 4 movie clips rotating around a center axis. I know how to make each one pause individually, but I don't know how to get them all to pause when you roll over just one of them. Right now it only pauses the one you roll over and the others continue to rotate. I have this code pasted into the actions of each movieclip that is rotating.

I've created an invisibile button (and also attempted to create multiple buttons) so that when you click on a specific image it will bring you to that URL. So far I have only gotten it to work for the final URL. No matter which image I click on, it only brings up that last URL.

I have an idea of a game in my head and I wan't to get somekind of functional demo of it done in flash (CS3). I've looked everywhere but couldn't find tutorial for it, as I'm not sure what I'm looking for. I'm not that good in Actionscript. I'm now trying to describe this problem. On screen there's 4 rectangles, 2 in a row. So it's 2 rows with 2 rectangles in each. between all of them theres 4 circles. If I activate a rectangle with mouse and use arrow keys to rotate it smoothly 90 degrees, 2 nearest circles rotate with it. And same thing happens with all of the rectangles.
So I'm looking for somekind of solution where rotating an object also rotates every circle around it. and when circle rotates 90 degrees with rectangle as it's center point, it can be also rotated with another rectangle. I think I can't explain this clearly?

I want image1 to be inside of visual1, image 2 inside of visual2, and so on. the images are named like, 1960s_(1).png where the 1960 (year) part is coming from the rangeNum variable. The above gives me this error: 1061: Call to a possibly undefined method addChild through a reference with static type int.

I have multiple angle images of an object and I want the result to be the same as the link here. [URL] I don't know flash at all but it seems like there would be a simple program (even if I have to pay) that allows me to import the images, set the rotation speed and other settings and then hit export to .flv file or something. Does anyone know of a program to do this, or a simple method?

I've created a grid of 3D cubes using modulus, and the 3d cubes are were created from the Math and Flash Tutorial, if you are interested it is here http:[url]....What I am trying to accomplish (and it works, just the performance is lousy). All the cubes in the grid are inactive until the mouse hovers over them, then they start to rotate, and once the mouse moves off them they continue to rotate.Time for the script:

I've created a grid of 3D cubes using modulus, and the 3d cubes are were created from the Math and Flash tutorial. I have set up listeners so when the mouse hovers over a cube it starts to rotate:

That works fine.
To begin the rotation of the cube when the mouse passes over it I have used:

I can see why this would be inefficient, as it is running the loop every every frame, and for so many multiple cubes it just lags (very badly). I should clarify, I'm hoping for the rotation to continue indefinitely once the mouse moves off the cube. Here is how I am creating the cubes onto the "grid":

I have 50 images that need to be on stage, which will be embedded into 50 different movie clips. I named the movie clips image1-image50 and the images are in an external folder named 1-50. Every freaking article or tutorial I have found clearly explains how to upload one image, or just one at a time. I can do that, and spend 2 days renaming all the functions, but I do not want to do that. Is there a better way to just load all 50 images, place them accordingly?

add some functionality to the presentation template. Currently you can only move from one page to the next. So if I want an animation on a page, no problem I'll just add a stop script at the end. No big deal. But if I want Multiple animations (just trying to replace powerpoint here) then I get into trouble.
Each page is one frame on the main timeline. Hitting left/right goes to the next frame, unless the movieclip on that frame also has additional frames. Then it should move to the next frame within that, etc.
I can't figure out that if statement though. I had another bit of script going on my first go, but ran into some issues so thought it best to create all of the scripting on the main timeline. Initially I created a boolean variable, then ran an if statement. Inside of a movieclip I switched the boolean and used the same keyboard interaction to walk through it. On the last frame of that movieclip, I switched the boolean back so the main timeline interaction kicked in again. The problem is, that's a Lot of copying and pasting of that code, and I can't figure out how to go through more than one parent. I just couldn't get it to work.
Should I just be building this thing in a Completely different way? I need to make something, so for now I'm splitting up each frame that I need different animations on and creating a different movieclip for each section. Ideally that would be contained in one movieclip's timeline. Currently one each animation's interaction will be on a timeline. So I have to duplicate the slide to add an animation. So if I have a title come in, then a pie chart, then an image, then another piece of text, I'll be stuck with 4 separate movie clips.
I want something like:if current movie clip current frame is == total frames, clicking right goes to next frame, else go to next frame of it's parent's timeline.I say the parent and not stage because the way you have to set up transitions only works within a movieclip. So you have to set up the entire slideshow within a movieclip if you want transitions between each slide. Right?
I don't care about transitions for now, but will want control of those eventually.

There are many times that I've needed to execute some code after a number of events have fired, and I've come up with counters and such but I feel there must be a better way.For example, say five files need to be loaded, after which a UI component will become active.If I set up a counter that increments each time a file is requested, then decrements each time one has loaded, I run the risk that the first two or three files may somehow get completely loaded before my code gets around to requesting the fourth and fifth, which would mean that my counter would be at zero when I still have two files to load, thus allowing the UI component to be prematurely activated.
There are some cases where you could know the number that need to be loaded before the requests go out, but it's possible that the first file contains the paths (and therefore the number of) files.And this file-loading scenario is only an example of the pattern I'm trying to explain.)
