ActionScript 2.0 :: Pausing A Movieclip And Jumping To A Framelabel In The Parent Swf

This is the predicament Im in. I have 3 files:
Launch.exe
video.swf
pause.swf
In the launch.exe, I have a loadmovie command which loads the external file video.swf. When the video is loaded, I want the viewer to be able to hit the SPACEBAR at any time which will result in pausing the video (pause.swf appears on screen) and after 3 seconds unloads the video.swf file and jumps to a frame label on the Launch.exe timeline. The code below is what I have at the moment but it doesn't work.

I tried to get this right but it just won't work for me. It's probably something very simple. I have a video in a movieclip on my timeline. On the first frame, I have the stop(); command. I want to be able to hit the SPACEBAR: which results in pausing the movieclip and jumping to frame 2 on the timeline.

I'm trying to access a movieclip so I can see when it play a certain framelabel. The code: if (this.solMC_.currentLabel=="nextScene"){ trace("HELLO"); this.imgIntroCont_.gotoAndPlay("start");} Nothing happens when my movie play (it should at least trace "HELLO"). I've read the parts in Flash CS3 Professional Advanced about currentLabel and currentFrame but it still doesn't solve my problem. I've also checked and made sure that the instance-names for the movieclips are right.

I have four buttons currently set up to do all sorts of stuff in a flash file. What I'd like to do is have them all point to the currently displayed movie clip on my main timeline.
At the moment they're set up to test the addChild and removeChild functionality I've written and it seems ok. I would like to trigger removeChild and addChild by the last frame in a movie clip and have my buttons send a play command to my movie clip. That way the clip plays to the end before removing itself and adding a new movie clip.
The movie clip that I would like to trigger the addChild and removeChild functions is actually one of four movie clips so I need to declare play(); and send it to the current movie clip regardless of which one is on the stage. I was thinking about declaring a variable to contain my movie clip so that I can just say play(awesomeMovieClipVariable); and awesomeMovieClipVariable will be equal to the currently loaded movie Clip. I can't figure out how to declare a variable and send my movieClip in to the variable.

I have added frame labels to the final frame of each instance of mc_copy1 mc_copy2 and mc_copy3 to allow a conditional statement something like... if (current frame of that movie clip = frame label) but I don't know how to set that up...

The situation is as follows:I'm using Action Script 2.0 --- I'm obligated to in the course I'm attending.I have a main timeline that has 3 frames. On the 2nd frame I have a movieclip named mc_nbr. On the 3rd frame I have a button "voltar" that when pressed I want it to "Go and Stop/Play" at frame 3 of the movieclip (that is embedded on frame 2 of the main timeline).

DISCLAIMER I've just started to learn flash to fulfill a class assigment. This problem probably has a very easy answer, but I can't find it and now I'm getting close to my deadline.
PROLOGUE The title describes what actions I'm trying to put in a button. I'm making a quiz. Each keyframe has a pic and 4 buttons. The correct answer should show a green V onscreen; the wrong answer should show a red X. After one second, it jumps to a new question in a new keyframe. I've made the X and V as both 12-frame movieclips and 1-frame graphics on the library, but can't seem to make them show up correctly.
1st issue: showing the movie clip/graphic. The movieclip/graphic should appear in the center of the stage *after* you press the button. Currently, the clip is there from the start; can't find a way to make it start invisible, then visible when I click the button. 2nd issue: waiting 1 second before going to next frame.I've tried using setInterval, but failed. Maybe the best way is to use a command that waits for the movieclip to play before making the jump?

I am making a banner which displays jobs and moves upwards on the screen continuously.and every job ad is a button that navigates to the jobadvertisment.The buttons are inside a movieclip that contains all the buttons.I would like to pause this movieclip that is constantly moving upwards on mouseover.but how do I call the parent movieclip to pause on mouseover that resides inside the movieclip?

I am trying to access a function that is on my document class for my AS3 project, from a nested class. That is, the Document Class calls Class A which then calls Class B. So I am trying to access a function from Class B, I am trying to use MovieClip(parent).function(); but I am getting error 1120. The MovieClip(parent) (fixed to reflect my document class, etc) works when I try it from other classes but not from this nested class.

Pausing, stopping and playing movieClip (MC) children. I am making SWFs that an interface will load and control (pause, re-start, stop, etc.). Then the interface is paused, the main MC will pause but not it's child MCs. I didn't write the interface, I am just supplying SWFs that are loading into the interface. The developer of the interface willn't allow me to use animated MCs in my SWFs since he can't control them with the interface. So all my animation need to be on the main time line, which is no optimal to say the lease.Can I provide him with some code to allow him to stop the child MCs or is there an Event Listener I could include in the child MCs that would pause, stop, restart, etc when the main MC changes?I currently do not have a fix at this time and since all my animations are on the main timeline, is there a way to select multiple objects (on difference layers) and move and resize them across multiple keyframes?

I have attached the file to this document, but basically I have a street scene which will eventually have about 5-6 people walking along the stage.
Currently on rollover of a button within the movie "movement_clip" my button will go to the overstate which shows a still of the animated women standing still. However...what I want to do on rollover, is I also want to pause "movement_clip" wherever it is in the process and then continue from where it got paused on rollout.

I have a movieclip with an image fading in and out (using an actionscript tween class set to yoyo). This movieclip is loaded into a dummy movieclip when a button is pressed. The first time you click the button the fading movieclip plays as it should, fading in and out continuously. However, the second or subsequent times the button is clicked the fading movieclip goes crazy, half fading in/out and half jumping from one alpha value to another.

I am creating a flash site, and inside my frame label for lets say "pageA" the movie clip begins In pageA, fades up shows the content and stops(); alowing for the page content to be read.
After reading, the viewer clicks on the button inside the nav bar, to take them to say "pageB" i now want "Page A" to fade out and then root to "pageB
my thinking is that i insert a stop on the time line of the movieclip, then when the button is pressed it plays, lets say, the remaining 10 frames in the clip (the fade out), and then roots to pageB.
i just need a simple actionscript to do that, if there is an easier way, any one who could point that out and end my misery is a god/godess respectfully!

I'm trying to access a parent movieClip from the child movieClip
Here's what I want to do,
I've got a movieClip named wrong_mc, which plays for a couple of frames and on the last frame, its got a close button "close_btn" inside of it, now I wanna write the code such that when close_btn is played the movieClip "wrong_mc" should go and stop at frame1, I'm just not able to access this movieClip from the button.

[code]All clips are squared.Ok, on the PlayerPlane, there are little soldiers, which have hotkeys. The effect I'm trying to create is I want to position the GameStage so that the currently selected soldier appears in the center of the GameClicker clip.The GameStage is movable by the player (to scan other areas of the map)by holding the CTRL key, so it's easy to kinda lose track of where your players are.I have tried using localTo Global and globalToLocal techniques, but I think I'm lost on the actual math of getting the GameStage to move the correct distance so that the selected soldier is centered to the GameClicker.[code]

I got a "preloader" that creates an movieclip and loads an SWF. Now in the loaded SWF i want a close button to go back to the "preloader".
