I'm currently making a website for an assigment on movie websites. I'm currently trying to figure out how to get the video to play then fade / hide when it finishes or the user clicks the exit button so it will then reveal the page below. It's being built as a multi-swf site (ActionScript 2) and if I can get this figured out then I should be on my way to finishing the site.

I am unfamiliar with Flash, but would like to have a jpeg which when clicked, is replaced by a video which starts to play. Visit [URL] to see an example. This should just be a couple lines of actionscript and well placed frames.

When it is on autoplay, it plays the audio throughout the entire presentation. We want the video to start on click (hit the spacebar or return or anything).

Basically count how many times a video was actually viewed instead of the page being loaded.I have a few restrictions.I cannot use a server side language.I cannot use a database.(I want to use a text file stored on the server)

Is there a way to hide the right mouse click pop-up (settings & about flashplayer x). The swf i use is placed in HTML refering to two other pages with some java games. The problem is that this is running at a science center in a browser fullscreen. But people may not open a new window/tab (this happens when you click on "about flashplayer x). In my scene, I have five buttons and each one will start a movie clip within the scene.o, I have only one frame for the entire scene( but four layers: button,background(with music), action and my last one is animation.Each time a click a button( with onPress or onRelease actionscript 2.0.), a movie clip starts(that's ok..)But, when I click an another button, I want the previous movieclip to stop and disappear. In my case, the new movieclip starts but over the last one who is still there.Furthermore, when I want to click on a button that had already been pressed, I want him to start over his movieclip. For now, I need to press it once again to cancel his movieclip and then press it again to start his clip.In resumé, all I want is that each time I press a button, the last movie clip disappear because the new one starts and an already been pushed button, when pushed again, starts his movie clip without the need of pushing it to cancel his first operation and then pushed it again.

I am building a flash interface and I would like a menu where it is hidden to begin with (just a tab). You click the tab to expand it, and click again to collapse it. I've made a movieclip with animation of the menu opening up and closing, but I can't seem to work out how I'd go about making the movieclip open and close properly.

I have a movieClip that a user can click on to hide/show a different movieClip (for this example, lets say its a circle). I have an 'onPress' on that movieClip that tells it go and play the next frame inside itself movieclip (there are two frames which just have different graphics to represent off/on) and also the line of code to hide the other movieClip.
The problem is that if a user clicks on the movieClip to hide the circle and then keeps their mouse in the exact same position and tries to click again to show the circle, nothing happens... they have to move the mouse at least a little bit before it will recognize it is being clicked again. The same thing happens with buttons I have that scroll the page... which is extremely annoying since you can't just click the same spot multiple times, you have to move your mouse a bit and then click again.
I have a test button i would like to have play a movie where a graphic expands. Once stopped, I would like to be able to click that same button and have the graphic go backwards. I would prefer to have timeline reverse, rather than lengthen the timeline of the mc because then i have to line up the start and end, and if one changes, i have to remember to change the other.

Basically, I have a button and on click it displays a menu. I want to click that menu a second time and the menu closes. Currently, every time you click the button, the menu reopens. I pasted the Flex livedoc example below. If you click the button, the menu keeps reopening.Now, I rigged it up by setting a var to open and closed, so when clicking the button it does a check. However, if you click away from the screen, the HIDE event gets dispatched, and the menu closes. This messed up the open close var being set.
How could I make this Flex example below show the menu on button click, and then on a second button click, it closes the menu? Take into affect that if you click away from the menu, it closes it.Also, I played around with the MOUSE_DOWN_OUTSIDE event for the button and set the preventDefault, and the FlexMouseEvent event.cancelable is set to false.Changing to a PopUpMenuButton is not an option. I have to much skinning involved.Here is the Flex example:

I'm having some problems with the code below. It may be something small that I am just not seeing. I basically have a drop down window and a button named btn1. The first click makes it pull down on the main stage, the second returns it to frame #1 by rewinding the movie. Well... It only works once, I need it to work multiple times, so I am missing something.

Is there a way to hide the controls on a flash video (flv) until the user scrolls over the video? So the page opens, the video starts playing (still no controls visable) and then when a user scrolls over the video, you then see the controls for the first time. I have searched high and low.

I'm trying to create an overlay containing a flash player that is shown when a user clicks on a link. The div containing the player starts with display:none in CSS. Upon clicking, the div will be shown, and JS will use ExternalInterface to configure and start the player. The JS configures the player when it catches a "flash ready" event, which is fired by Flash on ADDED_TO_STAGE.All this works, except that the ExternalInterface callbacks are never created. The JS and AS3 work fine if the player is shown upon page load, or is hidden with visibility:hidden instead of display:none. I am aware that Flash will not be initialized with display:none, and this works as expected: when the Flash is unhidden, it fires its events and correctly initializes everything else (eg. GUI, other internal stuff). The only thing that doesn't happen as expected is that my ExternalInterface callbacks are not added.
ExternalInterface.available is true. It's not a timing problem, because even after several minutes the callbacks are still not present. The strangest bit is that the flash is able to call JS, fires JS events fine, and the code to fire the events comes after the code to add the callbacks. There are no errors thrown by any of the AS3 code. I'm seeing this problem in both Chrome and Firefox.
