ActionScript 2.0 :: Reading URL Of Frames Into String
Feb 16, 2002
I have Flash in my top frame and HTML in my bottom frame. I need an ActionScript that can read the URL of the bottom frame into a string. Then I need to replace a specific phrase in the middle of that string with a new phrase.
I need to make a countdown. I set 6 Minutes as the Default time, but then i decided to make it editable, so i created another frame where the user can set the minutes.So I created a TextInput form (SetMinutes) and I tried various codes, but any of this worked. You are my last chance, i'm trying to figure out this problem from a month but it seems i can't find any solution.CODES:Frame1 Code
i have a php script that print with echo this: '&string="tom,dick,harry"' and i need to put the "tom,dick,harry" in an actionscript string, that i have to split in an array. I'm having problems reading the php output, i'm using the URLLoader and TheURLVariables Classes in this way
I'm trying to serialize and deserialize a byte array to a string using Base64 for as3.
Here is my code
public function Serialize(vector:Vector.<Action>):String { var bytes:ByteArray = new ByteArray(); var serialized:String = "";
[Code].....
is the error I get after calling deserializedObj = deserialized.readObject(); Should I be get that error if I'm just trying to put this into an object? I'm not trying to put it into an action class object yet, but if it is then the action it's getting doesn't have parameters that were originally inside.
I have the input textfield with instance name vIn, and the variable _vIn. (The textfield is empty.)[code]i have five other variable/textfield pairs were this works ok. I don't get why this pair doesn't work also, my textfields won't accept the subtraction operator, - , even though they're all set to vIn.restrict = "0123456789.-";It doesn't even work in the output textfields were there's no restriction (Negative results are displayed positive)
I am changing the flashvars variables v1=value&v2=value ect then after the flash movie runs I am changing the variables externally by javascript, so far so good.when flash first loads it reads the vars correctly.when I try to read them ( after the change ) it keeps reading the old values.[code]everything works except I cannot seem to read the changed FlashVars.
I am doing an Actionscript 3.0 project which involves introspection. I am wondering if there is a way to get all the classes within a given package structure.
I want to create a preloader that plays a certain amount of frames as it loads the rest of the frames. So, I have labels on the frames basically and need a preloader to play the "loading" frames as it is loading the "content" frames. Does that make sense? I have no idea how to even start this one... p.s. I am using AS 2.0, but if it can be done in 3.0 easier, I can switch over its no biggie
there seems to be no accepted method of playing multiple flv using buttons. My latest attempt has me putting multiple instances of the flvPlayback component in different frames and using buttons to navigate to those frames. It works but nothing anyone has posted anywhere will result in removing the flv when you go to a different frame and instance. This was simple in AS2. Load movie to a traget and each time you load a new movie the other one goes away. REALLY goes away.
basically im making a quiz on my main timeline ive got my questions and answers and on the last frame i want it to say how many answers the user got right. ive made a movie clip on this last frame. in the movie clip ive got 11 frames with the posible totals so frame one would be 0/10 frame 2 would be 1/10 etc what i want to do is when the user clicks the correct answer on the other frames i want flash to make the frames within the movie clip to go 1 step forward.
I have a function that counts days and some other variables and displays the values via dynamic text.
[Code]...
I have to place the incrementCount(): function every 12 frames so that it increments the values. Seems like it would be easier to simply modify the script to count "every 12 frames" but I can't find anything that tells me how to "count frames" in flash. Seems to be this is probably basic but I've searched unsuccessfully....so how do you do this. How do I get my script to work so it's frame based so I don't have to put incrementCount() every 12 frames?
Is it possible to have an movieclip of about 50 frames and navigate between these 50 frames? As if u put a marker on frame 10 and one at frame 30 and if u use a button it plays to frame 10 and stops and use another button to go from frame 10 to frame 30 and stop... and reverse if u use the earlier button.
I want to preload all of the voiceover swf files before a lesson starts so that they are instantly available when each frame / page that incorporates a voiceover is first visited.
In Actionscript and Adobe Flex, I'm using a pattern and regexp (with the global flag) with the string.match method and it works how I'd like except when the match returns multiple occurrences of the same word in the text. In that case, all the matches for that word point only to the index for the first occurrence of that word. For example, if the text is "cat dog cat cat cow" and the pattern is a search for cat*, the match method returns an array of three occurrences of "cat", however, they all point to only the index of the first occurrence of cat when i use indexOf on a loop through the array. I'm assuming this is just how the string.match method is. I want to find the specific indices of every occurrence of a match, even if it is of a word that was already previously matched.
But I keep getting an "Error #2030: End of file was encountered." This is (probably) because the class I'm serializing is too big for the "String" object type in AS3. Is there a limitless object for storing an array of characters (or better yet binary), or am I going to have to make my own class? (like one with an array of strings)
I am trying to include double quotes in a string but logic says it would just close the string. I know in html you would use something like ". In flash...I havent the slightest.Anyone know how to go about this?
I have a String variable in my flex (flash builder 4) application containing CSV data. I need to allow the user to download this data to a local file. For example, giving them a "csv" button to click and it might present them with a save file dialog (and I would be sending the contents of my string variable).Is this possible / how ?I am using the ResuableFX component for the datagrid to csv. This the code I ended up with that works to save the string to a text file for the user (in a web browser):
var dg2CSV:DataGrid2CSV = new DataGrid2CSV(); dg2CSV.includeHeader=true; dg2CSV.target=adgEncounters;

Basically I'm trying to output the contents of an XML document into a dynamic text field (as loaded - not just its node values and content - the entire thing - into a variable called _root.log). The text field is set to show the variable value of _root.log.This is the actionscript...
PHP Code: var newProfileXML:XML= new XML("<contacts result='true'><contact name='John Doe'/><contact name='Jane Doe'/></contacts>");

I'm not where error exactly the error happen so I post the whole thing. As far I know bottom code that relate to send_loc.php works fine, get_loc.php is having a problem. The output from get_loc.php is
Im playing around with the last.fm api... Specifically the "getLovedtracks" call.... [URL] This is a weird one that I have never come across... The above call requires a username to return a track listing so if I hard code the username into my class like this.... var username:string = "aidanmack" No problems the call works... if I make that username equal to a dynamic text box string that has "aidanamck" typed into it.. so something like... var username:string = mystage.textbox.text
the last.fm api wont except this... I get user does not exist But if I check the call with the charles proxy Flash is defo sending the username "aidanmack" So I wonder if its to do with have how last.fms api interprets the string?
I need to be able to pass some variables FROM flash and append it to the end of my address. I assumed that if I used LoadVars, I can append the vars to the end of the string like this:
ActionScript Code: send_btn.onRelease = function () { var my_lv:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
