ActionScript 2.0 :: SWF Contains Multiple Copies Of A Sound Item?

i try to stream a sound i get this message on my output screen "SWF contains multiple copies of a sound item". The sound still plays, but some popping noises are added here and there throughout the recording

I've used the New Library panel to copy symbols from one Flash document to another & subsequently closed the extra Library panel. I did this twice for on different occasions.
My Library panel is usually docked & collapsed so ocassionally I use Crtl-L to expand it. Now, when I do that, the previous 2 extra Library panels also appear & I have 3 Library panels on the screen - 1 docked & 2 extra floating ones! How do I get rid of the other 2 for good?

I load images into my .xfl project and use them amond movie clips - everything is ok at beginning. But after a some moment (which is absolutely undefined) Flash Professional CS5 starts duplicating all of them at saving and new copies names with "Copy 1", "Copy 2" and so one, or just with blank string. Because Flash duplicates them EACH saving, so after a several savings Flash refuse to save at all (shows "Too big project ..." error).

I made a Post-It note movie clip that is draggable. I want to create a whole pad of notes, or at least simulate this. I thought the best way to do this would be to add another Post-It whenever the startDrag() is triggered.
I first tried creating the Post-It with symbols but didn't think I could dynamically create new ones this way. I then created a class and added it to the stage[code]...

I currently have one movieclip in my library, but 4 instances of it on the stage. I was wondering what the best way to animate them so they can do things 'separately'- I'm not sure if Actionscript is the answer, but it's worth a try. I just don't want all of them to move when I move one of them (when I try to animate them inside their movieclip).Possible solutions: I already have one that isn't very... resource friendly. For every individual instance I can turn it into it's own Movieclip, so it isn't affected by the rest... but if I were to have many, many movieclips on the stage, that would quickly overflow my library. If that's the only way fine, but I'm sure there's a work around.

I wished to create multiple copies of a variable in a loop.such as:
var pots:String = thisString [i]
and then i wish to reference one of these loop generated variables.Now how would you set it up so you could have all those variables of "pots" had their own names so one could reference say: "pots1" "pots2" or "pots17" ? This kind of situation would bee seen in a situation where I would be bringing in many array values and assigning certain parts of them to the variables. such as array[i][name]

It's easy to share bitmap data between multiple Images: // target and source are instances of the mx.controls.Image class var content_copy:Bitmap = new Bitmap((source.content as Bitmap).bitmapData);target.load(content_copy);
But how to do the same thing for movie clips with vector grapics? The only way I've found is to load movie clip using byte data of another movie clip as the source.
target.load(source.content.loaderInfo.bytes); But it actually duplicates the content.

I have a flash header that was never completed because the guy I hired took people's money and ran. So now I even wonder if what he said could work with my flash header is true or not. But, usually there is always a way to make it work.
I have a flash header that does two important things: 1) Upon entering the site, it loads and plays an audio track 2) Makes an animal noise when you hover over each animal menu item. (not sure if I'm able to give a link to it or not on here. If I able to and someone would like to see it let me know)
I want to know if my flash header can support the following additional functionality/changes:
1) Currently, it loads everytime a page is selected. I only want it to load the one time of entering the site because the audio gets annoying. Set a cookie maybe?
2) But, I do not want to turn the audio off completely because I still want the hover over each menu item sound.
3) Have a link on it to allow them to select to turn on / off the sound completely. It currently has that, but only for the current page. Once you select another page, the audio is back to on.
4) Lastlly, is there a way for it to detect that someone doesn't support flash and to display an html version of it? And can flash create a html version from my fla file?
I don't know much about flash (but am learning) so I'm not sure if I'll be able to do this myself. However, I want to find out if my flash header will even work this way before I invest the time learning it just for these changes. I know it will be pretty deep with script code, but I'm hoping I could find base code already available for these features. Not sure I can afford help now because of being laid off and two different scammers taking advantage of me. i've deleted an audio file from my flash file and imported a better converted version of the same song to it, but now when i compile a swf of the file i get a msg in the output window saying "multiple copies of sound item in swf". i deleted the original file b4 importing the other 1, but it looks like that doesnt matter. what do i do short of starting COMPLETELY over?

I use BulkLoader to load images for the application. But when I try to use them, I can display only one instance of each image. If I have repeats, the image actually displays only once, in the last occurrence. How can I create multiple instances of the loaded items?

I'm trying to create a Flex DataGrid where the firstname and lastname are shown under each other, but in the DataGridColumn
Ideally I would want to do something like

<mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Column 2" dataField="firstname,lastname" itemRenderer="renderers.FirstNameLastName"/>
so that both values get passed to the itemrenderer, is this possible?

I have a movieclip wich has a simple movement of a simple shape. This movieclip is copied many times to create a graphical effect. As the number of copies, or the complexity of the movieclip increases, CPU usage goes up. As from 90 copies, when I keep moving the mouse over the swf movie in a circle, playback stops (hangs). When the mouse movement stops, the swf continues again at the right position, as if calculation has continued, but updating the display has not. Now this is a quadcore pc, and we're 2010. I can't believe or accept that 100 mc's is the maximum number of movieclips that can be rendered. The obvious question is what can be done to optimize CPU performance ?
I'm using AS3, flash player 9.
Movieclip is a simple rectangle shape which moves along 1 axis.

In a spark list I could use the change event to find out which item has been selected or deselected. The dispatched IndexChangeEvent object has the properties newIndex and oldIndex holding this information.
But with multiple selection allowed this doesn't work anymore because newIndex and oldIndex could refer to indices of still selected elements.
A solution would be to copy the selectedIndices vector to another variable and compare this variable with selectedIndices after a change in selection, but this seems to be somewhat complex.
Does anyone know if there is an easy way two get the index/item a user is deselecting while other elements are still selected?

I know very basic AS and ran into a small problem. I have a movie clip that I would like to be duplicated when the user clicks on it and then they can drag and drop it anywhere while the original stays in its place. Right now I have that working, the user can drag as many copies as they want, however when you release the clip you are unable to drag it anymore. "x" is my movie clip.

I'm working on a particle emitter, and I want to be able to pass in custom sprites (one for smoke, one for fire, et cetera). They are instanced on in the library as separate classes, but I want to be able to call a function like, "ParticleEmitter.SetSprite(Smoke)", then have it start creating instances of the smoke class.
The problem is, I don't know how to pass in a class name as an argument or how to use it to create copies. Is there any way to do this, or would it be best if I just put all my different particles inside a MovieClip and set the frame for each one it created?

I have a drag & drop activity where 3 of the drags can go into 1 of 3 possible dropzones and be counted as correct. On clicking 'Submit', if only some are placed correctly, there's a 'Show me' option - this is the bit I can't do:if some of those with more than 1 possible answer are correct, I don't know how to check which dropzones are free to place the remainder in. I am writing a maze program for school. I am using a 2d array to represent to location of walls for the maze. The background (for figuring out where a player can move) is not the problem.I am using this algorithm for places the images...

I'm having issues with controlling multiple sound volumes in flash. What I need to have happen is a Background music softly playing while a voice over is also playing.
This is what i have in the first frame of my main timeline

firstSound = new Sound(BGMusic_mc);
firstSound.attachSound("LatinRockMusic");
firstSound.setVolume(10);

but when it starts to play the voice sound the volume jumps up to 100. I need the first sound to stay at 10 and the voice sound to be at 100.

I have a main application that plays two different sounds, a background music and a SFX. I have added a button that, when pressed, loads another swf called options.swf onto a higher level. This swf contains two volume sliders for each of these sounds so that I can control their volumes. Each volume slider is an instance of a movie clip I have created which contains a sound object called 'activeSound.' On options.swf I have the following code:

My problem however is that when I slide either slider both music and SFX get affected. They are supposed to act independently but they don't. I've had this problem before with sound objects and I don't know a solution to it.
