ActionScript 2.0 :: Scripted Tween: Make A Different Version With One Line Visible?

I've done a very simple tween of 25 lines of text, with one line fading in when the other fades out.The original was a bit different with 3 lines being displayed at the same time, but I needed to make a different version with one line visible only.BUT this new version is giving me weird artifacts on top of the text, like there's some irregular kind of mask on top of each layer.I'm really puzzled....I made it again, starting again from the original, but the same thing happened!!

I've got a movieclip of a rectangle in my library which I place on stage to attachMovie. Then I create an empty movieclip which I want to use as a mask on that rectangle clip through setMask. Users kan draw into that empty movieclip. My intention is that only those areas of the rectangle clip become visible where the user is drawing a line. So I used this:

But that doesn't work: both the line drawn and the rectangle clip become invisible. I know it works because without the setMask part the line is drawn. The other way around does work (line.setMask(clip)): the rectangle clip is now masking the drawn line so only the line becomes visible within the rectangle region. But I want it the other way around: the rectangle should become visible through the lines that are drawn!

first frame of my movie i have a stop frame with a simple clip which i tween (tween class) in that same frame. just a white line that comes in and slides down the stage. i'm not preloading this movie itself because it only contains that initial tween and some light actionscript.My tween ends, triggers .onMotionFinished and I load a 1000px x 620px jpeg into a 2nd movie clip and advance to the next frame in the main timeline where I have a 3rd movie clip with a basic preloader bar movie clip inside it.on that 2nd frame i assign an .onEnterFrame function to that 3rd clip like this:

i usually use .onEnterFrame in this manner to preload stuff into clips with no problems.. for some reason, now my loadBar inside the preload clip gets moved over to the left end of the stage and doesn't appear to register any change in the ._width if i test movie and simulate download.

I am attempting to create a motion tween between two keyframes. The image is the same...the first keyframe has the image set to an alpha of 0 and the second keyframe some 20 frames down the timeline is set to an alpha of 100%. The keyframes are on the same layer. The image has been transformed to a symbol. Yet when I double click between the two keyframes and create the motion tween so the image will fade from 0 to full view at 100% nothing happens.
I don't see the familiar arrow that normally indicates a motion tween between the two keyframes. I've created this transformation a thousand times before but don't understand what is different in CS4 that isn't creating the tween. When I double click on a frame in between the two keyframes it indicates I can remove motion tween so, it makes me believe the motion tweening has been set but, it isn't. I am quite frustrated and don't understand if I haven't set something in the preferences so the tweening will work or just what is going on.

How can i make a combination of keys make a movie clip visible? Basically i want something like this to work:

I am using Flex 4 and AS3 and I am trying to make it so that the user can draw a freehand line with the cursor - I have this part done.However, I also need the line to be a dashed line instead of one solid line like it is now. below is my code I am using. I have found some examples on how to do this, but they are all for straight lines, not for a freehand line.

I'm making a "master movie" for an assignment and I'm stuck right now. What I've got is an Intro page that will serve at the Parent.swf to load 4 other child swf's upon a mouse click. The problem is I have a theater stage where I tweened an animation to make it appear the curtain on the stage is going up but once it reaches it maximum height....the tween abruptly stops. I want it to HOLD there until a user clicks a button.

I am trying to work with a flash application in windows CE.
the folder containing the files has several .swf files in it. We'll call two of them abc1.swf and abc2.swf.
I have created two html pages which when viewed on my PC open up either file and view it just fine.

However, when I copy the directory to my windows CE 6.0 R3 device, the page that opens abc2.swf shows correctly. But the page that is supposed to open abc1.swf just shows a blank white area.
I am pretty sure that the abc1.swf is only supposed to redirect to abc2.swf (or put within a frame) given it's 1kb size and the fact that I can see the text abc2.swf within it when opened in notepad.
I've been told that the flash player built into Windows CE 6.0 R3 is only capable of supporting flash v8 or less. I suspect that perhaps the issue with abc.swf could be that it was built with a newer version of flash such as v9 or v10.
Is there any way for me to tell which version of flash a given .swf file requires using only freely available tools? Or, does anyone have any other theories about what would cause abc1.swf to work on my PC but not on my windows CE device?

i wanna do the shape tween or should i say tween a line...one end of the line should stay still while the other should expand and contract moving on a designated path..so its not just an shape tween where line will expand..i want the moving end to go along some path.

I'm trying to make a custom version of the carousel. I would like it to be vertical instead of horisontal and I got that working. But I would also like it only to be half a circle with a radius bigger than the stage so the icons disappear in the top and bottom of the stage. When an icon goes offscreen in the bottom of the stage the icon must reappear in the top of the stage and vise versa.

starting a new AS 3 website and (dont hit me) i must admit this is the first AS 3 site i am doing - it's going rather well but i do have a question. I woudl like to create a class that will draw a simple box outline based on dimensions i pass it. But i want the actual drawing of the box to be tweened. So the lines would start out as 1px lines and then tween to be say 100 px wide by 100px high. I have played around with several tweens on both boxes and lines and nothing has worked to my satisfaction. Problem is the lines get fatter as the width scales out. I am thinking that perhaps the only way to do this is to actually draw lines with line to in some loop on onEnterFrame but have not succeeded. So if anyone has an example of this please do share it.

I already made a game with flash, and I want to provide an easy download for people that would rather play offline. Thing is, i use a folder whole structure to dynamically load content per level. Folder structure looks like this, not that it matters that much[code]...
How should I go to distribute this? Should I just resort to make a zip file for the flash game and assume people know how to extract and open the swf? Is there any other way to port easily as an executable? Perhaps Adobe Air (not sure if this works though)?

have script running with onClick animation, then inside mc _up, _over, _down states.
What I need is when the tween animation is over then it needs to go to next frame in timeline. Tried everything... nextFrame - OnMotionFinished

I am trying to resize a line within a movie clip. I am resizing the mc horizontally, but when I do this the height of the line also changes. I can of course resize the line itself, but this can't be used for tweening. How can I resize/tween a 1px high line horizontally without changing the height as well?

Is it possible to have a MC go to ._visible=false after a certain amount of time? So you would roll over it and let's say after 2 seconds it would become not visible. Is this to do with the setInterval function? Actionscript knowledge is slim so be gentle.
