ActionScript 2.0 :: Scripted Tween Then Preload Movieclip?

Dec 6, 2006

first frame of my movie i have a stop frame with a simple clip which i tween (tween class) in that same frame. just a white line that comes in and slides down the stage. i'm not preloading this movie itself because it only contains that initial tween and some light actionscript.My tween ends, triggers .onMotionFinished and I load a 1000px x 620px jpeg into a 2nd movie clip and advance to the next frame in the main timeline where I have a 3rd movie clip with a basic preloader bar movie clip inside it.on that 2nd frame i assign an .onEnterFrame function to that 3rd clip like this:

Code:
stop();
preloadClip.onEnterFrame=function(){
bytes_loaded = Math.round(this._parent.picHolder.getBytesLoaded());
bytes_total = Math.round(this._parent.picHolder.getBytesTotal());

[code]....

i usually use .onEnterFrame in this manner to preload stuff into clips with no problems.. for some reason, now my loadBar inside the preload clip gets moved over to the left end of the stage and doesn't appear to register any change in the ._width if i test movie and simulate download.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Scripted Tween: Make A Different Version With One Line Visible?

Dec 15, 2004

I've done a very simple tween of 25 lines of text, with one line fading in when the other fades out.The original was a bit different with 3 lines being displayed at the same time, but I needed to make a different version with one line visible only.BUT this new version is giving me weird artifacts on top of the text, like there's some irregular kind of mask on top of each layer.I'm really puzzled....I made it again, starting again from the original, but the same thing happened!!

ActionScript 3.0 :: Tween Motion Does Not Always Complete

Dec 16, 2008

I am having problems with the scripted Tween as the motion does not always complete and therefore does not let the rest of the script execute. Why these Tweens are not completing? I have a few of them throughout my program and they are all doing the same. I have to "Test Movie" several times before I get lucky and they complete and then the program runs fine. I have them all set to under 1.5 seconds as I read somewhere that there this might happen after this time. I am using IE 8 I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Load Next Swf After Movieclip / Tween Complete?

May 8, 2009

In my scene I have 4 movie clips. Each clip has a stop(); in the first frame, then an actionscripted tween in the second frame. I also have 4 buttons in my scene which trigger the movie clip tween to play from the 2nd frame.

Anyway this all works fine, the buttons trigger the tweens. What I want to happen now is when all 4 of the tweened movieclips have finished playing, the next swf will load. (this is part of a multi-swf animation, each swf will be hosted online)

Flash :: Call Anonymous Function From ExternalInterface.call() Method?

Nov 4, 2010

I need to get a javascript var in my Flash application. I like to be able to just set a variable in the javascript (client constraints) rather than define a function.

Can this be done? I am trying to use the ExternalInterface.call()

AS:

ExternalInterface.call("function(){return window.someVar}", null);

JS:

var someVar = "Test";

This does not work and I suspect it is because the ExternalInterface.call() does not like the anonymous function.

i couldnt attach my demo, its basically two buttons on stage, that play two seperate sound files, they can be turned on and off by a simple boolean.All songs are short sound files (going to be 10 second loops)What i want to know is, is there anyway to not start either of the sounds until the other one has finished its loop, so they are synchronised, so if i start one button off, and then put button 2 on midway through, it actually waits until buttons 1 sound is back at the start of its loop cycle until it starts to play it.If this is possible then i am excited as i am going to make a small little project [code]i have started working my way through the tutorials and already understand so much more about the basic concepts of AS3,
