ActionScript 2.0 :: Function Call Does Not Work When Call It Via An Action On A Graphic And EnterFrame
Jan 7, 2008
I have an enterFrame action that I use on a graphic:
[Code]....
Because I want to use the above code more than a few times, I tried to make it a function.
[Code]....
But for some reason the function call does not work when I call it via an action on a graphic where initially the code worked when it was explicitly written and not called as a function.
I am using the following AS code to call a javascript function which will return me the required value.[code]However when the function is called , it seems it is returning me a 0 always tried hard to understand the issue , but i guess i am not able to figure it out.I tried to alert the value returned by javascript function , it is proper,[code]
I get the alert but I can't get the lightbox window to display. When my as code makes the ExternalInterface call I get what looks like a page refresh and a blank browser window.
I need to get a javascript var in my Flash application. I like to be able to just set a variable in the javascript (client constraints) rather than define a function.
Can this be done? I am trying to use the ExternalInterface.call()
have a node that has an asfunction embedded - won't work. if I change the a href to a web page- it works fine. If I try to call a custom function it doesn't call it at all.
whenever I try to call the removeMovieClip function in a callback handler, it just doesn't work! Maybe I'm tired, or I've just missed something this is apparantly obvious. In my code exert below, is just a simple script that attaches a movie clip to stage (square_mc) and creates a duplicate instance. When the component button is clicked, I want the original movie clip to be deleted, but nothing happens!
Code: this.attachMovie("square", "square_mc", this.getNextHighestDepth()); square_mc.duplicateMovieClip("square_mc2", this.getNextHighestDepth(), {_x:50}) var listener:Object = new Object;[code].............
I am using in AS3 "External Interface ". When I call the JS function that is on the same page as swf everything works fine.
I added a link in the html page to an external JS file, when I move the JS function to the external JS file the website crushes.
I would prefer to have all my JS functions on an external file so I can use them in the future in other project and it also makes it easier for me to update the site.
how to call a JS function that is on an external file from AS3?
on the mainTimeline if have a movieclip. inside this movieclip i have a script that loads text from database. what important note is: var myPageText: String
now if i place inside this movieclip a other label further in the time, and create a action to call out myPageText like: my_input_text.htmlText = myPageText; this works fine
now i want this to work inside a other movielip in other scene. is it possible to call myPageText???
I have a login form in ASP.Net when user login he will jump on another page which consist a link of flash game.
When user click on flash game link, the flash game call the session from ASP.Net and on welcome screen show the name of the user in swf file and if he make the high score his high score save.
Next time when he login his high score will shown on screen.
How a transition can play out and then call the next action (ie, loadMovieNum, in this case). Am I right that senocular calls the "action" function in the last frame of the loaded page (or swf)? And that "action" would be the loading of the viewer selected content?
I created an full flash template website loading external swf.Lately, I managed to add a fake3D rotation with AS3 and CS4 to this global template with an enterFrame.some of my external swf use a vertical scroller also using an enterframe function base on the x / y position of the mouse, the scroller dont work anymore.Can't an enterframe swf loads another swf with enterframe function?
I'm trying to get the AS3 Flash remoting example found here: [URL]. and I keep getting this error: Code: Select allError #2044: Unhandled NetStatusEvent:. level=error, code=NetConnection.Call.BadVersion at amfphp1_fla::MainTimeline/frame1() Here's the code I'm trying:
I'm having trouble simulating a click call to a button(displayObject) thats generated via an API call( youtube as3 API). I have not seen any mention of security reasons as to why I can not simulate a click as long as something is registered with a click handler. Basically I checked to make sure the button made is listening to a mouse click event with:
trace(generatedButton.hasEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK)) which returns true
I proceed to than call this:
generatedButton.dispatchEvent( new MouseEvent(MouseEvent.CLICK, true) );
And nothing happens yet if I physically click the button it works. Is there some security measure that prevents something from being fake clicked unless its origin is strictly from the system mouse?
I even set a timeout call on the click function and moved my cursor over the button and let it fire in case it was an issue of the mouse having to over the object but still nothing. I am kind of stumped at this point.
We have been given some code that does a URLRequest call which is really slow to respond, so I was looking to make it pull the data from the page, as it is already on the page.[code]I have tried to replace it with this (actionscript is definitely not my forte):[code]I am using addCallBack as that is what the editor suggested via autocomplete, unfortunately it doesn't seem to work. Unfortunately I cannot go back to the developer at this time.The error message is:Call to a possibly undefined method addCallback through a reference with static type flash.external:ExternalInterface
I have an AS3 program that calls a function multiple times. The function must return multiple variables, so I created a class for the function to declare an object containing all of these variables. For example, here's my class:
package { public class PER { [Code].....
Let's say the calling program calls the function, which returns the variables into data_set1 (where data_set1 depends on input variables arg1, arg2, arg3) using:
var data_set1:PER = function_name(arg1, arg2, arg3);
The calling program does some stuff, then calls the function again, but returns the variables into a new variable name, data_set2:
var data_set2:PER = function_name(arg4, arg5, arg6);
My intention is that data_set1 and data_set2 are different (e.g. not linked together).
My question is, given that arrays are passed by reference, will data_set1 be modified to agree with data_set2 upon the 2nd function call? Why or why not?
I'm having some serious issues trying to get externalinterface to work in ie. I've looked around and seen that there are problems with ie when the swf is inside a form tag but my swf is not. Also I have set "allowscriptaccess" to "always" and still nothing. It works fine in FF and safari. In ie all i get is a little icon in the bottom corner that says "Error on page" and when I select that it just says something to the effect that there is a syntax error but doesn't give any helpful details at all.
