Flex :: Flv Player Control Time?
Nov 10, 2009I am using the flex flv player component and i want to be able to skip 5 seconds forward and backwards , at the moment from what i understand from the documents it is not acurate because the movie can only skip to keyframes sometimes making the skip 6 or 7 seconds. the same goes to cue points which the flv might miss the actual point if there is no keyframe there/ my question is there any other way to use the player in a more accurate manner ? since i see on the web players that can do these skipps

Aug 1, 2011For a month now I have been without the use of programs lke Swishmax and sothink video downloader because all of a sufdden, flash can;t be installed. I do have in in firefox but I get this error when I try to install "ActiveX control for Flash Player could not be registered" I have tried everything, but nothing works.

Oct 29, 2009I am working on adding playback controls. So far, I've been able to achieve a working slider component that scrubs the external swf's timeline. However, it is faulty and the slider thumb doesn't follow move with the timeline of the swf-it just remains still. What I mean by faulty is that sometimes the slider scrubs the swf timeline and sometimes it fails with this error:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

Jul 16, 2009I am in need for some serious help before i have to do the ultimate and reformat my hard drive and spend the next 12 hours reinstalling everything. The issue is flash. I get this error "ActiveX control for Flash Player could not be registered" anytime i tru to install flash. I can see flash content in every browser except internet explorer 9 so I don;t know what to make of this. I have tried everything to now avail. There are a few programs that won;t work and always prompt me to install flash. When I do I get the same error. The fact that this error can;t be fixed is amazing to me. I am asking has anyone got any idea on how to fix this problem minus the usual links that Adobe has, none of their remedies work. I am using windows 7 64 bit.

Jul 6, 2011Recently I have made a simple flash application that utilizes a webcam feed and an embedded chromeless youtube player within it. I now need to make custom controls around the player but would like to be able to do that in html/css and control it with js/jquery. While I can find material helping me control the chromeless player directly ( as in solo embedded and not part of another flash app ). My question is that since the chromless player is embedded INSIDE of another flash app ( say test.swf ) can I still access the player in there from js?

Mar 13, 2012I want that my spaceship gets louder when my mouse moves away from it (and vice versa). Problem is that my function produces an annoying crackling sound I can't get rid of when I move my mouse away from it (and vice versa). The sound file is ok so far.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Add A Control So Player Can't Place Towers On Road
Mar 20, 2012Im currently playing around with trying to code a tower defence game and im a bit stuck on the bit where I want to add a control so the player can't place towers on the road.the road is simply just an array with cordinates e.g [2, 3] [2,5] ect.and i draw a rectangle between those two cordinates with the Graphics class.So i was hopeing for a class that can detect the colour of a given x,y pixel cordination so i could use color detection to detect if its a road or not instead of going with my backup plan witch is to write a function that convert each "cordinate" to pixel then compare the mouse, x.y cordinate to it since its so much more resource demanding.

Multithreading :: Player In A Delphi TWebBrowser Control To A Background Thread?
Dec 6, 2010I have a Delphi 6 Pro program with a TWebBrowser component that loads a web page that embeds a Cool Iris Wall. The Cool Iris wall is an SWF object which means that when running, the execution happens inside the Adobe Flash player, an ActiveX or similar object I believe. The problem I am having is that sometimes when the Wall is loading pictures/videos from the web, it takes a big hit on the CPU on the main UI thread. I know that TWebBrowser moves most of its operations on to a background thread to keep the main UI thread happy, but something the Adobe Flash Player is doing is happening on the main UI thread and its causing my program much grief. Is there a way to move the Adobe Flash Player on to a background thread?
[UPDATE - 12/7/2010] - After a marathon probing and debugging session it turns out that the problem had to do with the Cool Iris Wall's Flickr proxy. You can interface with the Wall in two main ways: 1) You pass them special Flickr api protocol URLs and let them talk to Flickr for you, for example [URL]..loads the Wall with the results of a Flickr keyword search for puppy. The advantage to this approach is that they do all the work for you necessary to make the query to Flickr and build the Wall's contents. 2) You build an RSS media feed yourself containing the photo stream item data and feed it to the Wall.
I was using technique #1. The problem is with #1 is that when their servers have trouble building the Flickr feed for you (for whatever unknown reason), their host SWF puts a heavy load on the CPU interfering with the main UI thread's operation. I converted my entire code base to work directly with the Flickr API and create the feed myself using the second technique and the problem vanished.

May 20, 2009I have 2 swf's and a activex media player on an asp page. I want the buttons on my swf to control what live stream the activex player plays. The stream urls are in a webservice that i connect with one swf then send to the other swf using "localconnection". So when you click on a button on the first swf, it then sends a list of available streams to the other swf, displaying them in their designated dynamic text fields, which are located on top of their corresponding buttons. In my "localconnection" i send both the name and the url from the first swf to the second. Basically I want to know if its possible to click on a button in a swf and control what stream is played through the media player on the same asp page.

Aug 3, 2010I have two mp4 video files on webserver, i wanted to play them in flash player(flv player) on my asp.net page, but i couldn't be able to play them, i also tried to play them in quick time player the same prob occured. but i waz giving the accurate path, there were no spaces in mp4 file names etc. Does it need to have mp4 player(or codec etc) installed on webserver?
I have also some wmv files on that server , and i am playing perfectly using silver light player, and media player object on my website.

This works if I want a single track to be selected and played.Now, I need it to AUTOMATICALLY LOAD THE NEXT TRACK, which I will input in the code.I am thinking something like this:

But this is not working.
PS: I know an XML file would be the best here, but I don't want to use it. I just want to enter the next track's code inside the swf.
