I load an image from a url and add it to the stage.
I need a way to add some text to the image before loading it to the stage !
NOTE: add text over the image after it has been loaded
I have tried and had success loading an img into a dynamic textField at run time. But sometimes it takes littile long to load img and gives me an impression that image is not getting loaded.
My textFields html, multiline, autoSize, wordWrap properties are set to TRUE. But still sometimes i dont get my image loaded in to the textField.
Is there anyway i can handle this? Or Is there any way i can trace this issue? My images are also having size of max 7kb.
I am loading images of different size and then images are scaled and border is drawn for each image as shown in below link,[URL]... I want that border of images to be of the same width and height and for that I need to find out the max width and height size image before loading all the images. Is there any way that I can know the width and height of an image before loading it completely?
View 1 RepliesI developing a site where on the homepage, there are about 6 images that rotate, but if you click on a sub link, a different image loads. But the problem is that, the first image has to cycle through before the second image loads. I want the second image to load immediately.

[code]This script is for a loader image gallery in flash, as part of a class assignment. What happens is that in flash, when I open the swf file, the initial image (images/nair_evanescentautumn.png) will load fine. However, clicking on any thumbnail image (including the exact same images/nair_evanescentautumn.png), will result in an error saying the file cannot be found.I cannot figure out why it is doing this... I've tested it over. Clicking each thumbnail does go to the correct position in the two separate functions. All said full-size image links are in the folder images/, and replacing the initial loader image will load the other images in place of the default one. However, clicking on any thumbnail still results in URL not found, even though everything works correctly.[code]Before anyone asks why I'm putting this kind of content into a flash site, I'm not--this is only for a class assignment. I'm just trying to figure out why my images aren't loading right when I'm only doing the exact same thing in the functions as I am on the other pages.Of note, commissions.swf has the exact same feature, just with swf files loaded instead, and it works perfectly fine. home, traditional, digital, and photography all have the image gallery, and all have the same issue (I only referenced one page because if I can fix one page I should be able to fix all of them).As for the artworks, they are all my fiance's. View 3 RepliesI tried searching for an answer to this on the forums and it seems you can't duplicate a movieclip that has a dynamically loaded jpg in it, I mean you just get a duplicate empty movieclip?What I want to do is have 3 copies of a pic, each tinted a little differently, and have them converge and reveal the "composite" of this pic. Do I then have to use loadMovie 3 times?Does loading the same 50kb image at the same time mean you're actually loading 150kb?

I have a scrollPane that contains a textField which is loading an image via img tag where there is no scrollbars initially because the textField is not large enough in the beginning, but it is larger than the scrollPane after the image is fully loaded.. and I am trying to update the scrollPane once the image is fully loaded..

I made 1 image gallery. and i am facing a big issue. When one image is loading in my Loader object. If i click on next image button. It starts loading another image without canceling the existing image. So mutliple images appear at stage in this case. I want something that stops loading older image and start loading new image.

im working on an image viewer and im loading an image to a loader and then add the loader to the stage.I want the user to be able to drag and drop the image but since it's a loader i dont know how to do it.
I tried

I have a class that loads data from a text file and puts it into an array called tdv.importedTxtArray (public var).In a separate class i have written [code]The infoArray does not then contain the imported text however because tdv.importedTxtArray is not given its popper contents until about 1/2 a second after the tdvLoader class executes (i.e: when Event.COMPLETE is run and the array is populated with strings from the external text file). Subsequently in the code above infoArray is set to a blank array.How can i get the code in my separate class to ''wait' until tdv.importedTxtArray is properly populated before accessing it.
View 2 Repliesin my projects i often use some xml files to load external text that i can format in css and it worked fine till now..i have a site that i am prograaming in italian and german and in both languages there is much text that contains special characters as "à " "ò" "è" "ù" "ä" "ü" and so on .. the problem is that when i write some text with this special characters in xml when the text is loaded in the flash this special characters are not recognised and instead of them a small square is displayed ..
i tryed to load the text from a html file instead of a xml file (because in HTML i know how to write theese special characters and let them display right in my html pages .. for example à = à but no way .. the flash now loades the text à instead of à ..

It loads absolutely fine when I test the movie from my computer, but when I upload it and embed it onto an html page, all of the dynamic text refuses to load. I 'm trying to make it so an image will scroll with a specific line of text in a text field. I know that using delta of the scrollEvent will give me direction but everytime i try to increment and decrement the y value of the image the image doesn't follow the line of text perfectly it tends to "crawl" if you will.

I have one dynamic text field called "content_txt"
I have 3 buttons with 3 different instance names (btn1 btn2 btn3)
I have 3 text documents in a folder (1.txt 2.txt 3.txt)
I am able to have 1.txt loaded into content_txt, but here is the problem.
I would like btn2 to load 2.txt and btn3 to load 3.txt into content_txt.
I have looked for an answer for this problem (and found many close answers) but when I try and make my code fit, it just doesn't work. I'm really new to this so any help would be amazing. (or if this has been answered somewhere else and I have missed it..

When a user enters the website, it will pull text from some location (possibly an XML file) and load it into a text field. The trick is that I want it to randomly load a different chunk of text in each time the user opens the site. There are about 25 different small pieces of text I want to randomly load.
