ActionScript 2.0 :: Between Scene Navigation To Specific Frames : Flash 8?

In the live preview mode, buttons/frames enabled I can navigate between scenes to specific labelled frames.However, when I view the 'movie' I can not navigate between scenes at all.My frames are all labelled.
Are there anyway to get number of frames in a specific scene? There's a totalFrames property of MovieClip class, but that's the total frames of all scenes.
how do i export specific frames not all frame. ex: if flash has 1 to 200 frames. here i want to export 51 to 150 frames as a movie. if there is any command or plugin to export movie like this.
so I have some buttons that, as of right now, simply trigger the scene to move on while at the same time killing some particle effect animations I have spawning when the animation is idle. What I now need to do is make these events move on to a specific scene AFTER the rest of the scene's animation has played out (about 400 more frames) I'm figuring that the gotoAndPlay command has to be tied to some sort of timer variable that I would have to figure out based on my fps. Or maybe there is a way to set up a timer directly tied to a certain amount of frames allowed to go by. I'm pretty noob at actionscript, so keep that in mind. Here is the script at the point where the animation pauses to await user input on the buttons:
I am making an online portfolio and I have created the following scenes:homeaboutontactright now, I have three movie clips on the home screen that I have created into buttons.
on (press) { go to Scene 2, frame 25 ????????????????????? }
What I would like to do is after someone clicks on the button, it should then jump to another scene's specific frame number. So for example when you press the "about" button, the playhead goes to the "about" scene to 25th frame. Same thing for each button

I could not figure out how to apply it to my own page though, because it didn't explain how to set up the HTML frames at all. I set up a frameset in Dreamweaver, so I have 3 frames, called "topframe", "mainframe", and "bottomframe". In Flash, I applied the following action script to a button as the tutorial instructed:
on (release) { getURL("affiliates.html", "mainframe"); }
However, when I click on the button to go to "affiliates.html", it opens in a new browser window instead of the main frame.
I am getting better at Flash 8, but I have a problem. I am in a Movie Clip, and when you press 'g' it returns you to the first scene, and I want it to go to the second scene. on(keyPress "g"){ _parent.gotoAndStop("Scene 2",7); } Is there a way you can do that?
how to build a timeline scrubber that can scrub more than one scene.
1. Scene 1 had 20 frames 2. Scene 2 had 20 frames 3. On scene 1 I put the slider that scrub the timeline. The totalFrames; sum all the frame from all the scene. 4. When i scrub the slider to frame 21 error occurred saying that the slider couldn't be found. So i paste the slider in scene 2.
So how to continue scrub on scene 2? How to make a slider that can scrub all scene and move along showing the current frames?
I was thinking of adding frame on top of my home poage to give users better navigation with a meun on top.But how do you make when you press the button in flash the hyperlink will make the frame at the bottom or specific frame page to change?
I guess its some kind of random array.. but i dont know how to form it, need it for game(dont want same frames repeat its stupid ) And only specific frame numbers(i have motions between specific frame numbers).
I've looked at endless tutorials, including ones that just say "copy this code" and none of it works, so here I go: I want to make a flash document that will play 20 different scenes. The scenes are independent of one another (will stop when they reach their end rather than continuing to the next, etc.), and are selected for viewing via a navigation bar on the left side (with 20 buttons respective of each scene, obviously). So, I've tried numerous code to try and make the first frame of each scene recognize all the buttons (they are the same for each scene), and make each button skip to it's respective scene.
However, nothing seems to work. Even the "stop();" function ceases to work as soon as I try to enter more code to make the buttons work. So, my question, in essence, is how do I get something like this to work? A generic example code or template would obviously be very useful (instance name and such are not complicated, as I just use "button01_btn" "button02_btn" / "Scene 01" "Scene 02" etc.), I'm using actionscript 3, but admittedly know very little about coding
have set a function on the main timeline. Embedded the 3D scene within a movieclip. And have some navigation buttons on the main timeline.Basically I want to use the buttons to play the 3D animation and stop when the correct point has been reached. e.g. I have 3 points in the attached animation (L, E, A). However i don't want use gotoAndPlay("frame label") as this will skip the animation.I have attempted to pass back parameters to a variable in the function from both the buttons and the 3D animation timeline. ive made a button in the scene 1 which i have managed to navigate to scene 2 but when i click the button it goes to scene 2 but displays everthing that is in scene 1 in scene 2, how can sort this out so upon the button click in scene 1 it goes to scene 2 and only display content in scene2.
I'm using flash for the first time to create my graphic design portfolio and I'm having trouble keeping the file size small, and can reduce it by (hopefully) doing the following:
My resume has a lot of classic tweens with alpha channels (to create fadein/fadeout effects) and as of right now, I need to create a separate layer of fadein, fadeout for each transition. IE: My resume to portfolio page needs one 20-frame transition, my portfolio page to resume needs a 20-frame transition, my 2nd page of my portfolio page to my biography needs a 20-frame transition, etc. It's getting out of hand.
I could easily remedy this by using a lot of separate fadeins fadeouts and then coding buttons to navigate from, say, frames 120-130 (resume fadeout) then go to frame 160-170 (biography fadein), then navigate to a static page. I'm not sure if this is possible, as my buttons would have to change functions each frame.
Another possible way is that currently for each button I have different layers in order to direct the button to different frames, and have placing hem in the same spot. I'm wondering if there's any way to have buttons go to separate frames on different frames, if you get what I mean (on frame 120 it'll go to 130, on frame 150 it'll go to 160 but still be the same button". Right now each button is coded with on release gotoandplay <frame>.
I'm continually updating a news section that has back and next navigation buttons on one layer. Is there a way to insert new frames and have my navigation sequence updated at the same time?The problem I'm having is that each time I insert a new frame, it throws off all of the next frames by 1.
I have a 4 frame file that is a dvd menu. Buttons controlling navigation between all frames. There is a main page, and 3 child pages that link back to main. I have an mp3 file that I need to add as background music. I have created a new layer and added the following to the action of frame 1.
soundInstance = new Sound();soundInstance.attachSound("Music name from library"); My problem is that every time I navigate back to main from one of the child pages a new instance of the song begins so I end up with a round of music. I need the initial instance to persist throughout and not loop til the end of the song.

I have labels home, news, about, portfolio, contact. I keep getting this error ArgumentError: Error #2109: Frame label instance6 not found in scene Scene 1. at flash.display::MovieClip/gotoAndStop() at whywontyouworkdamyou_fla::MainTimeline/navigation() and my buttons dont work. I am seeing spaces in the word navigation why rofl its ok in edit mode? The Fla [URL].
I've got a script that once a button is clicked it loads an external SWF on level 0. However, I need to go to a specific scene in the SWF. I've searched the usual ie Flash Kit with no luck!

The center top of this webpage has a navigation menu that I'm trying to create [URL]. Basically, depending on where the mouseover is, the image and hence the button/link below changes. How to have multiple hit areas overlapping in the same place, and to have only one specific hit area active depending on where the mouseover is at the time.
I'm making a website to the company that I work and I'm having a problem.The function only works on the first 30 frames of the scene?!?! Strange!Here goes the .fla and if you see the "years bar" doesn't move has the other elements. But if you click on the [M Button] and next on the [P button] it works.Why does not work on the other buttons.
I am creating a music project using flash that will show students how to play scales and chords. At the moment I have 3 combo boxes ('tonic', 'tonality' and 'type') and a 'go' button. and when I press the go button I want it to go to the scene that contains the chord/scale that has been chosen. at the moment i have the code :

i want to make a puzzle..a photo seperated in 10 pieces(10 scenes)withdifferent speed.each piece does a move from right to left and back again.when i push a button in the correct frame i want to go to the next scene to do to the same thing,if its the wrong frame i want to play another scene.and is it possible to all that staff with one button?
I was wondering how i can change scene in AS2 in a specified hours of the current day..Until the date the scene 1 contain "Promo coming soon".when the time set is reached (example at 5pm) the swf go to scene2 and play the promo image.. it's possibile?
