ActionScript 2.0 :: Certain Frame One Movie Hits Last Frame

i have a thank you message that shows after my form mailer is sent, then about 10 frames play for a short pause which shows the thank you message. how can i make the playhead goto a certain frame once it gets to the end of the timeline? i thought it would be related to onclipevent but i couldnt find anything relevant to what im wanting to do.

I'm trying to write an if then statement that will loop back to frame 1 once the next frame it hits is higher than 5. For some reason it doesn't work and I could easily go to frame six and add a go to and play but, I'd like to learn what's wrong instead of doing it the easy way.
I'm trying to get in the habit of using AS in the first frame on the main timeline as much as possible. but sometimes i hit a snag. like getting a movie clip to change it's alpha when it hits a certain frame in an attached MC.

This doesn't work if (lives <= 0) { gotoAndStop(22); } When I change the "<=" to something like "!=" it does work. I'm trying to make it go to a certain frame when the variable hits 0

would like flash to trace something when the play head goes over a frame label named "test" I would also like to have the code placed on the first key frame. I realize that the easiest way out would be to place the trace statement on the frame with the label on it but I'm trying to run this with a listener.

Just finally making the transition from AS2 to AS3.All i need to do at this point is make two buttons which will control the movie to goto next frame and previous frame. I have gotten how to make the buttons go to a specified frame number and also a button to go to a specified external url but no success in making a simple next/previous pair of buttons.
i created a two layer in time line in one layer there is a movieclip called mc1. In the same layer in 15th frame i have another movie clip mc2. Inside the movieclip mc2 i created another movie clip at frame10 now if i clik the the mc1 on first frame The movie clip should goto and stop at tenth frame
now how do i make the movie clip to first go from frame 1 to 10( last frame in teh movieclip) with the text time and then when the movie clip starts again it should say place and so on and so forth.. depending on how many textline variables i define in the text file?
I need to create a script that will jump to a certain frame in the scene when a movie cilp reaches its last frame. Putting a goto... within the MC itself doesn't work. I assume that I need to create a listener of some sort....I haven't been able to find what I need in any documentation (and I'm even been looking through AS dictionaries going back to Flash 4).
i'm very new at flash and finally ended all the work i wanted to do here. now i just need to had the actions so it will run properly. basically i just need it to stop in each frame and run the animation of the movie clip on that frame. if it's i can put the project here so you can see what and were i need to had the actions.
I have four movie clips (.f4v) in 4 frames in a movie with watch buttons.. This movie has them been imported into a main movie container that has next and previous buttons. However if i play a movie then hit next frame, the movie continues to play in the background. I have a character, And in its movieclip I`ve got 3 frames (first has an idle pose, second a walking pose and third a running pose), each with a movieclip with an action in it.Well, what I wanted is that when I am walking with this character, and press the SHIFT key he runs.And I`ve got the following code

But when I click the shift button, he shows the first frame static of the movie clip in frame 3 (running frame).
I am making a quiz/game, and it works like this, two teams that have to take over the united states, by answering history questions, so right now I have it were when you click on a state, it takes you to a question (on a different frame in the main timeline), then I have a problem, if you get the question right it takes you to the "board" of the United States (that works), but when you are back the color of the state should change its color to red (on frame of the clip) if south got it and blue (another frame of the clip) if north got itBut instead i changes back to grey (default color, all start grey to begin with). I don't and can't seem to figure this out
I've got a movieclip acting as a button. Code on the button itself handles roll-over/-out states, and I define an onRelease function in the main timeline as follows:

This code takes the movie back to the first frame and works on the third frame. For some reason, though, the same code on the fifth frame has no effect. The button doesn't do anything. I have tried using the same button, I tried inserting a new keyframe with a new button, renaming the button, etc. and for some reason I just can't get it to work on the fifth frame. If it helps to visualize, I am essentially making a menu. The first frame contains buttons to take you to submenus, located on following slides. This button to go back to the original menu is on each frame with a submenu, but for some reason only works on one of them.
I have a opening movieclip that starts playing for my background and then I have two buttons that come up on moues over event, that if clicked on start one of my two longer Movie Clips that I have as progressive download through a flvplayer on Key frame 2 & 3. I have all that working but I want it to go back to the start or keyframe 1 when the clip is done playing so I can use the same opening menu to click on the second movie clip can some one give me any tips on how to get to go back to the start when the movie is done.
