Sep 17, 2011I have successfully loaded an external swf file into my own one. now what i want is to change the size of the loaded file.
the loaded file is an image and its height:500 and width:500 but what i want is to resize it to 200x200
How can i do that.

Flash :: Client - Side Image Processing - Creating A PNG Image From A PDF File
Feb 1, 2010We're building a web-based application that requires heavy image processing. We'd like this processing load to be on the client as much as possible and we'd like to support as much platforms (even mobiles) as much as possible. Here's the info: Image processing is rasterization from some data. Think like creating a PNG image from a PDF file. We don't have a lot of server power. So client-side processing is a bit of a must.
So, we're considering: Flash - most widespread, but from what i read has lackluster development tools. (and no iPhone/iPad support for now). Silverlight - allows us to use .NET CLR, so a big ++ (a lot of code is in .NET). But is not supported for most mobiles ( rumored android support in the future) HTML5 + Javascript - probably the most "portable" option. The problem is having to rewrite all that image processing code in Javascript.
Clarification: I don't need further ideas on what libraries are available for Silverlight and Javascript. My dilemma is choosing Silverlight means no support for most mobiles choosing Flash means we have to redevelop most of our code AND no iPhone/iPad support HTML5 + Javascript we have to redevelop most of our code and not fully supported yet in all browsers choosing two (Silverlight + Flash) will be too costly Any out-of-the-box or bright ideas / alternatives

Everyting works fine but if I add a textfield to the flash file and change the php file it still sends the original textfield but not the one I have created. I am using flash 8 and macromedia mx. I just copied the message textfield in flash and dublicted it. Than I gave the dublicated textfield a different instance name (second). After that I published the movie and adjusted the php file. I guess that the mistake is here. Would be cool if you could check the below listed php script and tell me what I am doing wrong. Honestly it's driving me nuts as it looks so simple but it just wont work. I marked the lines I added with red.

How to change the image texture in photoshop. Would I first have to make the change in photoshop, then somehow create a movie in flash that places those images in the .fla file. Or will flash do it all for me. That is wrapping the texture around the image each time a new one is selected.

Nov 15, 2011I've been tasked to write a chat engine in actionscript3 (AIR) and every chat message has an image of the poster associated with it. So I have 5 chat messages on the screen at any one time but it will be obvious that the images associated with message e.g. #1 changes all the time because the last person posting is different.
What I believe is wrong is to use the .addChild method every time I need to replace the image because it will just keep creating more stuff on the stage. What I tried to do is the code below but it refuses to update the image. The way I thought it should work[code]...

The carousel has 5 smiling images(as buttons) rotating as normal and when you hover over an image, it changes to an angry face. Data Integration :: Any Way To Change Image Sizes (From XML) In Flash?
Sep 7, 2006I am creating a slideshow within Flash that uses XML data pulled from a database. Is there any way to manipulate the image size from within Flash? I am going to use the slideshow for a plasma display, and have clients uploading image files at random, which are then added to our database. I need each image to be 16:9. I know the easy way to control this would be to give the clients size requirements - we will do this in the future - but unfortunately there are hundreds of images already in the database that are already odd sizes. While it's clearly possible to change the size of the movie itself, is there a way to force each image that is imported from the XML to be a particular size - say 800 x 450 or 1200x 675 or 1600 x 900? (i.e. -- can I force the XML generated image to fill up the whole screen/browser window, regardless of what size it is?) It does not matter if the image gets distorted or stretched.

I have made most of the modifications but and stuck on how to change the animation for the image gallery. When I move from one picture to the next the animation effect is something like a bubble burst. This is too flamboyant for me.
