Flash :: Change The Transparancy Of Part Of The Image To Have It Fade Into Another?

Is it possible to change the transparancy of part of the image to have it fade into another in flash? or it must be done in photoshop. If it's possible for flash please let me know. here's an example: [URL] fo Also i've come across an add in flash, I can't find it again. It was advertising some cream or something. there's a picture with wrinkles skin and when you scroll your mouse over it the part above the mouse remain the same but in bottom it's a different picture, does anyone know how to do that?

I'm using Flash CS4, and a template that I got from a friend to create a website.The template I have uses this "man figure" on the right side of the file. I want to make it so that this pictures loads a different picture each time the page refreshes. I'm so close to finishing my portfolio site update with an XML gallery and menu. However, I have multiple galleries, about 7-8. With the crazy timeline I have set up now, each gallery is on on its own frame about 20 frames apart, the menu uses a gotoAndPlay to another frame with a 20 frame animation and a stop(); on another gallery frame. What I would like to do is when another gallery is selected from the menu, have the last image of the current gallery fade out. So, what AS would I need to make the movieclip "picture" fade out when the frame is changed? A shoutout to Scotty and Lindquist as well as all the tutorials for making this possible

I have a tweened movie which plays on a loop. A click on the image area stops the movie and the image fades nicely from alpha 100 to alpha 0. A second click brings the image back immediately to alpha 100 and the clip continues. I would like the movie image to fade back in from alpha0 to alpha 100 before it re-starts; (the reverse of the fade out). At the moment the re-appearence of the image is a crude jump. So far my ill informed tinkering has not worked.

After whittling down of the options we've encountered a problem with PNG's and ActionScript 3 (AS3).
When loading a PNG 8 or PNG 32 with alpha transparancy we're getting the following error reported in Flash:-
"Error #2124: Loaded file is an unknown type" Now, we're dealing with some legacy images, and it appears as though this problem isn't universal - some images believed to be 32bit alpha PNG are loading. BUT, some conclusions:-
converting one image that was 32 bit alpha (NOT WORKING IN AS3) to PNG 8 index transparency DID work.
And converting that same image to PNG 8 alpha DID NOT work.

I seem to be having trouble with TweenLite in AS2.I've created a class which I call on the main timeline. Within the class I've loaded images and once they are loaded I want to fade between them. I am calling (inside my class) the following code when the images have finished loading:
TweenLite.to(_root["loadedimg1"], 1, {_alpha: 100,
onComplete:doImageLoop, onCompleteParams:[1], onCompleteScope:this});
I then have the following function to do the fade loop:

I have a piece of working code. I'm loading an XML file full of images to flash and using them in a slideshow. The code works fine, but here's my issue. The first time an image loads, the fade-in time is about half as long as it should be. I've reduced the image resolution and drug out the fade in time so it's not terribly noticable. But I still see it. Once the code has cycled through the entire file of images, it starts over and repeats. At this time, (being the 2nd run through) the images fade in exactly how they're supposed to. I'm guessing that once the images have been loaded in the cache, there is no download time etc. [URL].

So im using CS5, and i have a very basic script which makes an image appear when a button is clicked, ie click button1, and pic1 shows. click button2 and pic2 loads etc.

i have a set of images which i've converted to mcs and have given them all different instance names. The first image motion tweens to the right of the screen via actionscript and then the next one will motion tween from the bottom of the screen to the top and then the image after that will go to the right of the screen and next one goes to to the top, and so on. I have this actionscript for the first image,

I need the next image to start motion tweeing up to the top of the screen right when the first image starts fading out. Then when the second images starts fading out the next image is already motion tweening to the right of the screen and so on. Once every image has run through its tween everything repeats. Is there any way of doing this?

Is there a way to change the color of just part of a movie clip? For example, if you had a space ship composed of a movie clip that uses several colors and you would like to change the color of the just the nose of the space ship, is there a way to do that? That is to say can you replace one just the pixels of one color with the pixels of another color.
I essentially have some game pieces that I would like to change to different colors for different computer players without drawing all the pieces again for each of 10 different colors. But I don't want to change the color of an entire game piece--just part of it.

I have a single frame file that is a portfolio viewer. When I rollover a thumbnail an image shows up in my main_mc. This works fine, but am trying to get the image to fade in to make it a little nicer.I've spent countless hours already searching forums and testing code, but it doesn't work. I have tried changing all the styles associated with the combobox (borderColor, etc), and set borderStyle to none (which made the border go away around the dropdown menu) but I can't for the life of me get the border that's around the main part of the combobox to go away or change color. I skinned the button to get it to be red, but I just can't figure out how to change that last detail.

I downloaded this free flash website template for building my website, all the actionscript in the template in AS3, i tried using xml flash - photogallery (for which i found the tutorial on this website.) in my website, but while publishing the site, it gives error, i guess it might be compatibility issue as the script that i found on the website might be in AS2 and that might be clashing with AS3 script of the template. Coz when i change the publish setting to AS2, the AS3 part of the script does not work. Individually both script in their respective separate files work but when combined together the site goes bonkers. as i want the photogallery part exactly as it is shown on this site which is with the thumbnail preview.

I have imported an image into Flash, turned it into a symbol, inserted a frame, then a tween, and can animate the image with tint. It works fine, but the tint is applied to the entire image. What I was hoping to do, is have a sort of 'rolling tint', where the tint starts on the left side of the image, and gradually works it's way over to the right.
