I want to create a editor in Flash that looks similar to this. I need the line numbers on the left side and the text on the right.Is this something that is possible in flash? Can someone give me some ideas to start with. I am a beginner to flash but I catch on quickly.

View 1 RepliesI have a solid programming base (C, C++ and C#). I was looking for some Flash samples over the Internet and I found a Flash Carousel but my doubt doesn't regard it but something simpler than that.
Consider the following sample: http[url]...., when the user clicks on any of the buttons of this carousel a screen is opened with the corresponding image on it but the user still can see the background because the opened screen has an alpha (close button and a legend). I'd like to know how that is done, I've seen this kind of behavior in many galleries and stuff on the Internet but I don't know how that is called and how to create a similar screen.
I am creating a card game everything is fine but I am not able to create a stack of cards as follows: If I have 4 cards that are represented in an array such as 4,5,6,7 of Spades then I want the card with the least priority to be placed on top and the highest priority card placed behind the first one.

I'm trying to create a number of similar variables using a for loop, rather than having to explicitly write out each variable. For editing the list I use Php. The problem: When I delete an item in my productlist, the array doesn't behave dynamically. It has the same lenght and every item still has the same index. I use an "Array" to place my products before sending them into my scrollbar.[URL]

View 2 Repliesi am looking to create something similar to the str_replace function (from PHP) that will replace all occurrences of the search string the replacement string from within an larger string. Does anyone have something like that created already (save me the time)?
ie

Is it just me or is creating and applying custom easing with the motion editor absurdly difficult? Firstly, the bezier curve tool for custom easing has a mind of its own. It will change the curve at a different anchor point to the one you're editing on a whim and every time you get close to where you want the curve it does it again and you're back to square one. Second, you have to recreate a custom ease for every tween as there's no way to save them. It's impossible to create two custom eases exactly the same! The entire motion editor seems designed to infuriate me and parts of it don't seem to have been tested at all.

View 2 Repliesi'm trying to create a game that has a similar concept as Dance Dance Revolution - if shown is a down arrow then press down, if up arrow is shown then press up ...i'm having problems with the "if shown is a ... arrow" part - i managed to get pressed key check working, so if you press the correct key you'll progress but if you press the wrong one the appropriate action will execute.
in frame 1 i have the movieclip that contains the arrow display with the following code:

looks ok to me, but when i tested by changing the if condition for the mc action to if (_global.x = "down") the thing still executed as if _global.x = "up" .
I'm trying to create a "floating" style navigation similar to the link below but WITHOUT and 3D effect. Just text/navigation that is floating and reacting ever so slightly to the xmouse/ymouse and maybe scaling on rollover or something...I don't know where to start...

how would I go about creating a custom progress bar like the one Grooveshark used to have? If you look at the image below, the progress bar is an image in the shape of a shark and fills in as the page loads.

I'm trying to figure out how to replicate an effect I've seen on the adidas site and another site. I'm not too sure what the effect is called or where to start looking for guidance on doing it myself so I thought i'd start here for some help or a point in the right direction. View 2 RepliesIs there a ContentCache[1] for sound assets? Once I load in a sound I want to keep a reference to it so it doesn't have to load again. Possibly a class reference to it or to the byte array (I'm rusty here).
The reason for this is to keep it in memory so the Flash Player doesn't have to reload it so the start time (latency) is low. These are short audio clips.
