Dec 6, 2011ok lets say you create a button that when held down play an animation of 20 frames if realsed it goes to frame one and stops if held down it plays out this animation. for the topic lets say you have a fire animation and you want the fire to apear and if the user hold its down the animation reaches the end of the time line and loops back and plays the last 5 frames of the animation and as soon as it is let go it goes to and stops at frame one. Well i know how to make a button that when held down plays out an animation. And i know how to say when released goes to and stops at frame one. What i dont know how to do is to loop the fire at the last 5 or 6 frames so the user can hold it down all day long and play out that animation.

Aug 13, 2010I'm trying to create a simple banner ad where the mouse hovers over the button and a panel shows up over some content of the site.[URL]I have two different .swfs: the container, which is the button and a loaded swf that has the animation that comes up when the button is clicked. The button is only 183 x 40px where as the loaded swf is 183 x 160px.When the loader swf is loaded, it takes the dimensions of the button.
Is there a way to have the loader swf be its original dimensions, so when the mouse hovers over the button, the loader swf covers some of the content on the Web site?Also, how can I change the MouseEvent to load the SWF when the mouse is only over the button and not clicking?

Feb 9, 2009I'm trying to create a button which displays an animation when the mouse hovers over it, and then performs an exit animation when it hovers out. I've looked at many of the major tutorials for this without success.The one I'm looking at right now, basically gets the user to create a movie clip containing an animation of a button at different states ('up', 'over' and 'out'). It then uses actionscript to play some of the sequence on rollOver, and the rest of the sequence on rollOUT. It then asks for this code to be pasted on an actions layer on the main stage:
1. btn1_mc.buttonMode = true;
2. btn1_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OVER,onBu ttonOver);
3. btn1_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.ROLL_OUT,onBut tonOut);

But the error I get when I try and use it is:
"Location: Line 5. Description: The class or interface 'MouseEvent' could not be loaded. Source: function onButtonOver(e:MouseEvent):void
Location: Line 10. Description: The class or interface 'MouseEvent' could not be loaded. Source: function onButtonOut(e:MouseEvent):void"
The weird thing is that I downloaded the .fla file from the tutorial page and managed to get my button working by pasting it in there, but when pasting that back into my movie, this error returned.

So now I have a FLA file with the frames in.So far, so good.I can export this as a movie and create a SWF file.I can use this SWF file in a HTML document and get it to display in the browser.This is where I hit a brick wall. I have done a lot of searches but I am getting something wrong. I need to adjust this FLA/SWF so that in the HTML file, when the SWF is first loaded it does not play. If the mouse moves over the object it starts/continues playing. If the mouse moves away it stops playing.

Consider the following sample: http[url]...., when the user clicks on any of the buttons of this carousel a screen is opened with the corresponding image on it but the user still can see the background because the opened screen has an alpha (close button and a legend). Apr 5, 2010I've used Flash before to create animations but it has been a long time. I've been asked to create a very simple animation using two images, one of a broken PC and one of a fixed PC. I want the broken PC to come in from the left and then fade into the fixed image of the PC which will be centred. I know this is very very simple but I can not for the life of me remember how to do animation, motion tweening etc. I have the two images and I've tried importing them, converting them to movie symbols etc but it doesn't go to plan. The animation needs to be between 1 - 3 seconds long at 12 fps. The document size is 550 x 400, standard I believe. I am using Macromedia Flash 8 Professional.

May 10, 2010I'm interested in learning how to create a "3d" object that a user can interact with using their mouse. I've taken 60+ pictures of a camera rotating by 5 degree increments and I'm trying to put together something similar to what Verizon has on their website for phones - Where your mouse rolls over an object and rotates it.
I've seen this done with Java as well, but I'm interested in how flash does it.
