I know I'm missing something really simple. I am trying to create a next button that will call the next swf file from my folder, so far this is what I have:

So I've created an xml slideshow using Flash Slideshow maker pro, because its very fast and versatile and I need to update my galleries frequently. I'm trying to load it into my flash site using the following AS3 script:
var Xpos:Number = 20;
var Ypos:Number = 20;
var swf:MovieClip;

and when I do that, it seems to be unable to read the xml file anymore and I get a "load fail" message.
On looking at the error message, its trying to call the xml file from the same folder that the site is saved in. How do i tell it to get the xml file from a different folder?
i have situation in which i have some library projects, say
"DataProcessors","Lib2"
, included in my lets say "MainProject" (a web project) placed on directory
"E:in-debugMainProject.swf"
, when i build the project it automatically place all the libs .swf in its "E:in-debug" folder, but when i debug or run the project it it gives loading error that
"E:DataProcessors.swf"
not found but i have those lib files on
"E:in-debugDataProcessors.swf"..
what could be the possible errors.
I AM USING AIR FOR ANDROID. I want to get all the jpg's (or Mp3's) in a folder of an external folder ... that will be stored on the users PHONE with included in the APP.

Most of the files are batch files but I have one .exe and two registry setting files that change proxy settings. I want buttons that will call each file when clicked. Seems simple but I have been trying to figure this out and I'm getting no where. I'm attaching my flash file. It's a flash cs4 file. Can I not attach the script to each button? For some reason I thought I used to do it this way but when I highlight it it says I cannot attach script to the object.

View 2 RepliesWhen I use swfobject (or, for that matter, publish from Flash)...if my HTML file is in the same folder as my Flash .swf (called "bin")...the flash file displays as a blank white page. I can tell the .swf is on the page, because when I right-click I see the flash context menu...however, the swf is blank. So the path isn't written incorrectly.If I move the HTML file inside the "bin" folder and change the path from "bin/myFile.swf" to "myFile.swf" everything works again...what gives?I think it might have something to do with using the Loader class...I am using loaders to loader external .jpeg files. But I don't know what to do about this other than to keep my HTML files in my "bin" folder which is a bit of a pain.

View 1 RepliesI'm having trouble simulating a click call to a button(displayObject) thats generated via an API call( youtube as3 API). I have not seen any mention of security reasons as to why I can not simulate a click as long as something is registered with a click handler. Basically I checked to make sure the button made is listening to a mouse click event with:
trace(generatedButton.hasEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK)) which returns true
I proceed to than call this:
generatedButton.dispatchEvent( new MouseEvent(MouseEvent.CLICK, true) );
And nothing happens yet if I physically click the button it works. Is there some security measure that prevents something from being fake clicked unless its origin is strictly from the system mouse?
I even set a timeout call on the click function and moved my cursor over the button and let it fire in case it was an issue of the mouse having to over the object but still nothing. I am kind of stumped at this point.

View 2 RepliesI am currently finishing off a flash project that I began using FlashMX (with action script 1).It is a language teaching tool which will be viewed both online, and will be also put on CD.I would really like the swf to fill the user's entire screen.I have tried a few things with javascript in the html file that haven't worked. I would greatly appreciate any tips on how to:
1. Create a toggle button for full screen in my flash file
2. Make the swf take up the entire browser window (width="100%" height="100%" doesn't seem to work)
3. Create a standalone version for CD that fills the user's entire screen
Here in Flash CS4 Explorer, I have shapes. It's intuitive that I be able to right-click on Scene1, and be able to Insert Shape. Can't. I go to the frame. Can't. I right-click everywhere. I see 'Create Shape', but everywhere I see it, it's grayed out - won't let me.

View 5 RepliesOkay, so I am calling my scripts from the folder "php/" Thus, my FileReference calls "php/upload.php" to upload. However, my uploads are in "uploads/" and not in "php/uploads". When the PHP script is called, it apparently ignores the caller (the SWF file) and looks for uploads in its own directory (the "php/" folder). It may be a PHP question, but how do I reference the uploads folder as being in the parent directory of the php files in my PHP script?

I have figured out how to create the flash file which will overlay the page, with all elements centered, from here: kirupa forums tutorial.
The only thing I cannot figure out is how to attach the Close button which would come at the top right. AS3 is not allowing me to attach any behaviour to the button, neither does it allow me to put actionscript there. I am in dire straits.
i have uploaded a simple 1 page website with the flash video sitting outside of the root folder of the site itself. i have pointed the flv playback components to the video and published it and uploaded it but the video does not appear on the pages.
