ActionScript 2.0 :: Difference Between An Attach And Load
Mar 23, 2004
I've had great success with loadMovie and loadMovieNum, but occasionally I see something in the posts about attachMovie. Is there a difference between attach and load, or is one left over from a previous verion of Flash?
If it's possible with five3d to "attach" or load a movie clip / image in the sprite we created? This bit of following code comes from [URL] in the as2 package as a demo...
Code: Select all// We import the classes needed. import five3D.display.Scene; import five3D.display.Sprite; import five3D.utils.Drawing; [Code] .....
Now my problem is that I would like to add a 2pixel line to the right side of my loadBar_mc and make it sit to the right of the loadBar MC all the way until it completes the fill/load. Obviously I cant just add the shape to the loadBar_mc because that will resize.No sure on where to go from here.I have a file here:[URL]
I have a simple page with a text box and a go button on it. I am trying to build a URL from text that's put in that box.For example, someone types "peanut" in the box, then hits the go button.When they do, it loads the page "http:[url].....It seems simple, but I am not getting the variable to store/pass properly.
I want to load an external swf and dynamically attach the mc's in the loaded swf to the main movie. Is it possible to reference the linkage properties of the externally loaded swf in this way?
how to eliminate previos attach before move to next attach MC..let say as u can see in my code..I just settign the interval..for 2 second..in other to attach the mc on eby one...so how to set up the code so that if the 2nd mc has attach it'll remove the 1st one attach for certain time...and so on..the scenario like this..
mc1 attach after 2 second mc2 attach --> remove mc1 after 2 second
i'm trying to figure out how to reset or refresh clips that are dynamically attached to another clip based on records returned through xml.asically if the user chooses a different filter for the database query I need to be able to refresh a scrolling list made up of clips which will be different based on the filter.this is what I have for a function. I try to use "attachEmptyMovieClip" but to no avail
Code: getAll=function(){ members = getMembers.firstChild.childNodes;
i am intermediate programmer.but i think that has ended 2 days before when i came across a simple while loop.which i can't figure it out how the stuff works..[code]from 1 - 9 ,that is (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9);I want to know difference between pre and post additions in the loops.if the first program adds the increment value after each loop , then why didn't it prints the (0) value. and i also want to know that ,Why this methods does not have any difference on for loops....
I am trying to load random external SWF's using XML. I'm not having any problems loading JPG files, but the SWF's just won't load. Is there a difference between JPG's and SWF's when loading using loadMovie? Pointers to tutorials or pages in the manual would be great.
Here's a snippet of the code:
[AS] function firstImage() { if (p<(total-1)) { p=random(total);
I was looking for the difference between the different content types in Flash CS3/CS4 - Browser/Screen Saver/Application etc - especially it's capabilities and limitations. Of interest are Standalone player and Application.
Suppose I'm building a game where your ship moves with left/right keys.I assign a speed variable which is the number of pixels the ship will move when you press one of the said keys.Currently (on the tutorial I'm following) I have:
Quote: static const speed:Number = 150.0
Can't I just replace it:
Quote: var speed:int = 150
Also, what's the difference between var a:Number and var a:int? And is there any important reason to add the .0 in 150.0?
I have heard different things in forums but unable to find a concrete answer on the difference between obj[name] and obj.name. Does the compiler treat them differently?
