ActionScript 2.0 :: Disable The Blur When The Object Being Tweened Comes To A Halt?
Mar 4, 2006
Now I know I can use the MCTween classes for this, but I want to figure it out myself
I have
Code:
MovieClip.prototype.blurTo = function(strength, size) {
//Blur and tween fn.
var myBlur = new flash.filters.BlurFilter(size,size,strength);
[Code].....
What I can't figure out for the life of me, is how to disable the blur when the object being tweened comes to a halt?

I have a string of about 5 movieclips that are tweened so that when you click left or right they slide in that direction. When you click on the movieclips themselves I want them to:
on mouse down - move to (y-5)
on mouse-up - move back (y+5)
this all works fine, however after I have clicked on one of the movieclips to make it jump, when I click left or right to slide them all over again they don't slide with the rest of the clips anymore?

How would I go about accessing the object I am moving with a tween through TweenEvent? or is this even possible? I think e.currentTarget will give me the tween object instead of the movieclip it is controlling, but I'm not sure.
Example:
ActionScript Code:
var tweens:Array = new Array();

How would I go about accessing the object I am moving with a tween through TweenEvent? or is this even possible? I think e.currentTarget will give me the tween object instead of the movieclip it is controlling, but I'm not sure.
Example:
Code:
var tweens:Array = new Array();
var aryObjects:Array = {mc1,mc2,mc3,mc4};
function someFunction():void {
for(var i:int = 0; i < aryObjects.length; i++) {
[Code] .....
Is it possible to access current mc the tween is moving through TweenEvent here? If not possible, how would I pass the current object in the loop to the function? I had one idea of creating a function within the addEventListener line and passing both the event and current object, but it is not working for some reason.
Code:
tweens[i].addEventListener(TweenEvent.MOTION_FINISH, function done(e:TweenEvent){tweenFinished(e,aryObjects[i]);});
I know that Tweener or TweenLite would work well but I want to do this without using them.

I'm trying to update a dynamic text field based on the scaleY value of a mask that I'm tweening using TweenLite. Example: as the mask scales from 1 to 0, the date in my text field would change from 1970 to 1980. But it doesn't want to broadcast that scaleY property during the tween.

I have a few MovieClips that are motion-tweened via the timeline. I have a function that places a glow filter on the tweened movieclip. The glow works, but... the movieclip no longer moves. I found that if I tween via actionscript (AS3) that it does tween. However, I have about 1000 movieclips, all w/ different tween properties.Is there a (much easier) walk around or am I going to have to code for a few days/weeks?

I'm new to Adobe Flash CS4. I'm making an animation of some fish underwater. I have 2 small fish motion tweened to follow a large fish from left to right. When I view the animation in full screen the small fish seem to be wiped off the screen at a certain point. The tween box continues to follow it's path but the symbol disappears. This only seems to happen with larger objects.

Problem 1: Flash crashes when a Blur filter is applied to a TextLine object.
Correction: It was not the Blur filter but this line, which caused a crash:
trace(tb.findNextWordBoundary(5));
whereby tb is a TextBlock element.

What I want to do is link the blur filter with the coordinates of an object I have in a movie.Like as the x coordinate of an object gets larger the blur amount increases as well, and decreases as the x coordinate gets lower.

I've a got a huge (relatively) problem ni that i've created a Flash app with a dynamic data structure which ends in 150 different nodes.each node (if visited) loads in between 5-10 images and a couple of movies.
The data for each node and its consequent external media are all displayed in the same visual class that is only instantiated once.The display object that contains the jpgs and movies is cleared of all child objects before the next node loaded.
Yet the size of the flash file (according to windows task manager) never shrinks and very soon reaches 1mb in size at which point it starts to chuc badly.[code]...

I'm having a game in which i control an MC with the keyboard arrows and when i click outside of the flash application and back in the MC loses focus. The focus changes to a button within the stage. What i've observed is that the Flash Player has a built-in control that moves focus from an item to the other with the arrow keys.

i am sorting an arrayCollection and then adding the sorted collection as object variables.But the object is getting sorted by default in the ascending order of the variable name for eg i have a collection like this coll[{[6]:30},{[4]:39},{[8]:45},{[5]:50}] which is sorted in ascending order of the values.i want to add this name value pair to an object
var obj:Object=new Object()
for(var i:int=0;i<coll.length().i++)
{
obj[coll[0].name]=coll[0].value
}
But the object gets sorted in ascending order based on the name like this
obj[4]
obj[5]
obj[6] and so on
How can i display the object variables in the order they were added.

I have the component Hadlab Newsflash on my stage.I have a button that, on rollover, changes the color of the component.When the button is clicked, the component fades out (tweenning) and the movie goes on. The problem is that the constructor keeps telling the component to be #FF0000(red) and the fade out tweenning doesnt work anymore because the mouse is on the button. Here is the code:
Code:
// cria a funcao "onRollOver" para o btnEnter
btnEnter.onRollOver = function() {

I have a game where "targets" hide behind trees and when they pop out from behind, you click them and they are destroyed. For some reason though, when you click the tree they are hiding behind, they still get destroyed. I want them to be safe from the user clicks when hiding. Here is a sample of the code I am using:
Code:
stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onClickHandler, false, 0, true);
function onClickHandler(event:MouseEvent):void
{
[code]....
I tried adding an else if statement like so:
Code:
else if(bullet.hitTestObject(backtrees)) {
poof.x = bullet.x;
poof.y = bullet.y;
[code]....
but that did nothing as well. As you can see, it is not the click of the user that causes the target to disappear, but the hittestobject that causes it to disappear.

I have a flash shooter game and after a user shoots a bottle, i play the destroy animation and remove it from the screen. The problem is when the user click too fast, like superman fast it enters on the method twice, no matter what.
Here is the code:
public function bottleHasClicked(bottle : BottleBase) : void {
bottle.mouseEnabled = false;
collectedBottles++;
[Code]....
The first thing i do is to disable the object mouse, and it still happens. I only enable it when im gonna show the bottles again.

Been trying to solve this for a couple days now. I have an invisible mc that rests on a layer above a movieclip that tweens on the button roll over and scales to show another side of the card with info and two links. The links are mc buttons within the tweened mc. I cannot get the two buttons to work. Im certain its because the invisible button that triggers the twin is overtop the moveclip these buttons are in, and it cannont find the button to trigger. Anyone know how to make buttons on the same plane?

I am just trying to get my as3 tweening skills locked down around the basics. So, for this example, I have a logo / home button fading in, this code is working for that... however, is there a way to addChild (home in this case) via the tween code, so that I do not have to add the child at alpha0 "then" fade it in?
import fl.transitions.Tween;import fl.transitions.easing.*;
var home:Logo = new Logo();addChild (home);home.x = 400;home.y = 300;home.alpha = 0;
var fadeIn:Tween = new Tween(home,"alpha",None.easeNone,0,100,200,true);
