i made a flash website and used flash to generate the html. in the html i put in keywords, description in the meta tags. but for some reason google is showing something else?
is it possible the description etc. is coming from somewhere inside flash that i cant see?
Can I insert stuff like headers (<h1>) and meta keywords into flash?

I wanted to know if there are better choices there...Also, does flash developer do the AS3 programming only? Do they do graphic design at all?
View 3 Repliesis there some specific functionality difference between essentially the same mouse events end result.For example I notice some use "MOUSE_DOWN", others "onRelease", some use "buttonDown" and still others just "CLICK". All seem to work identically, but there has to be a reason why there are so many.

View 0 RepliesI have 23 keywords in an XML file. In an area of 1600px by 500px there should be zooming in and out (for about 5,6,7 sec which depends on the number of letters) 10 keywords, randomly chosen from the XML file. Each keyword may appear in different spots in the area, it doesn't matter.

I'm trying to build a portfolio gallery.I have it set up so that the user gets all my portfolio items to start with and then at the top right there is a comboBox that allows the user to select "programs", "code" and "clients" this changes the left vertical tileList to only show icons of the programs or of codes etc.I'm trying to get it so the user clicks on one of the program icons or whatnot and it then limits the thumbnails in the tileList on the bottom of my widget.The thumbnails come from a xml document that has the images and then <keywords>.Inside this node is a list of the programs and codes used.I tried using indexOf and then a if statement to check if indexOf was -1.But that didn't work.[code]

View 2 RepliesI have a question that's been daunting me for quite a while. I've found a way to do this (kind of bootleg) however I'm wondering a way of better executing this.Scenario:I'm loading an external XML file, with numerous items. Each item has it's own 'description' tag. What I'm trying to figure out is how can I more properly execute this:- Find multiple keywords in all loaded items, if I find any of the selected keywords how can I fire off a separate function to my project (Example: If I find the word "hamburger" in one of the lets say, 54 loaded entries, how can I tell my flash project "if you find "hamburger", hamburgers = 1). Same thing goes if I find "hamburger" within 4 xml items, and "hotdogs" in 12 of the entries making flash know hamburgers = 4 and hotdogs = 12.
My predicament really is on ruling out numerous incorrect amounts. Example, If one xml item has hamburger three times, and another xml item has hamburger only once, getting only one valid "hamburger hit" (that was cleaver terminology, wasn't it? ) instead of three hits for that one xml item.So, I'm trying to let flash know, if you notice "hamburger" once, and only once in an xml item, stop counting the hamburgers, and the item's hamburger value is only 1. If the item has no keywords (example, hamburgers, hotdogs, watermelons, soda, blah blah, (lets say a total of 30 keywords) ) do nothing and do not count the item and move to the next for keyword function searching.
Is the forum-specific search broken? I get 0 hits on the keywords scrollbar and scrollpane, but what's more curious is I get 0 hits on the word movieClip.

But sometimes, it doesn't. why, and how I can prevent this from happening? I REALLY hate it when the IDE does something I don't tell it to.

View 1 RepliesI am trying to create an image gallery similar to Androids "Gallery" where it is a horizontal scrolling list of images. I am doing this with an HBox and Bitmap objects wrapped in a UIComponent. The problem is I am trying to do this for mobile and having many full size images open in memory causes problems. I have been trying to have the images load right as they are scrolling into view and unload once they are out of view, but the loading/unloading while scrolling requires too much cpu and causes a very choppy and poor UI. What I am looking to do is be able to load several low quality versions of the images in memory so I dont have to do as much loading/unloading. I have tried decreasing the height/width but it dosnt seem to have an effect on memory usage.

I need to generate a script that converts videos to F4V's for use with Flash Media Server 4.5...is this possible? I have it converting files to MP4s and then swapping the extension.This works fine, but seems like a dirty work around. I'd prefer to use a generate a true F4V. I've heard mixed things on whether or not ffmpeg truly supports F4Vs
View 1 RepliesI've been giving a application to work on that uses a Java EE application for the backend, Flash for the front end, and BlazeDS to connect the two. I have never used Flash or BlazeDS, and am trying to get my head around how BlazeDS works.
So far, I understand that when you connect to BlazeDS in FlashBuilder, the remoting-config.xml file is scanned to determine what services exist on the Java end. FlashBuilder asks which of these services you want to import, and what "service package" and "data type package" you want to use.
When you select your Java ExampleService, BlazeDS will create _Super_ExampleService.as and ExampleService.as and put them in your "service package" location. ExampleService.as is empty but extends _Super_ExampleService.as (which basically is a Flash service that you can use to call the methods in your Java service). If you need to add extra methods, you would add them to ExampleService.as. (Hopefully this is all correct, please correct me if I'm wrong)
My problem is I cannot figure out what BlazeDS does for value objects. When you select ExampleService in FlashBuilder (let's assume it's a service for the Example entity), what value objects does BlazeDS create? I would expect Example.as and _SuperExample.as. However, _ExampleEntityMetadata.as also appears.

Heres my setup:MySQL Table:ID, FIRSTNAME, LASTNAME, DATE of BIRTH, EMAILMy PHP file reads a email from flash and finds any matches. Then it relays them back to flash using echo command.Now i need my flash swf to generate a table with all the matches using collumns for each piece of data.When i tried to do it, it only showed the last match and that was it...How do i make it generate a full table?

At the moment it will output a 72 dpi image at the same resolution as the swf movie, but I've been asked about the possibility of generating a 300 dpi image instead.
