ActionScript 2.0 :: Dreamweaver - Some Letters That Is Typical Of The Norwegian Alphabet Won't Show?
Apr 10, 2004
I'm making a site in dreamweaver, with a flash menu. on that flash menu I have buttons that load a external text file and applies CSS to it before showing it. All this is well, BUT, the site is in Norwegian, and some of the letters that is typical of the Norwegian alphabet won't show,( it's just boxes)and some of the nearby letters dissapear to.
It will basically walk you through the windows to perform a typical setup, with some branching off for special cases. Essentially a main series of screen shots with text that you can scroll through using arrows, with links off to other screen shots or sequences as need. My boss wants it to be "hip and flashy", so wants me to look into Flash. But is that the best tool to use for this ? In all the Flash tutorials I have been watching I haven't seen anything that looks like that kind of application.
I've been doing a number of pretty basic flash banner ads at the typical advertising size (728x90, 300x250, etc.) but the client wants to throw in some video for this upcoming batch. I've already been given the .flv movie file. It's about a minute long at 3 mb, but I'm only going to use about 4 seconds of it. My question is what is the routine/typical route to take when adding video to banners but also keeping under the file size limitations (around 37k)? I did some brief research and read about progressive downloading but wasn't sure what the typical direction was when delivering files like this to the vendors.
I am trying to preload an mp3 file dynamically while showing the typical 'percentage loaded' in a dynamic text box. However for some reason, the percentage just doesn't count up - it freezes on 100% even though the mp3 file is still loading. I have included the code that I'm using below. Also, does anyone know what would be the best way to adjust this code so that I could preload multiple mp3 files at the same time or one after another?
only one movie clip is created.when the movieclip event loads ,all 26 alphabets must be created.i have done it using duplicatemovieclip method.then,we need to make words with the alphabets.so we need to drag each alphabet to a particular place.if it is dropped at the target it should remain ,else it should go back to its original place.also,when we drop the alphabet at the target position ,a new movie clip(duplicate of original must be created)and the original should go back to its place
I'm having real trouble trying to get a simple contact form to work on my flash project.When I enter text into the fields it wont allow certain characters to display.I've used the email template and instructions from here[url]...
var SDArrayIndex = new Array(); var SDArrayName = new Array(); var SDArrayNum = new Array();
[Code]....
How can I sort all the array by ascending and descending order by both alphabet (SDArrayName) and by numerical (SDArraryIndex) value? Do note that all 3 array had to reflect accordingly
How can I match lower case i and variants like í for example in ActionScript 3?
EDIT: The above is just an example, I am interested in matching all diacritics and special letters in general with a similar Latin Alphabet equivalent.
I have a list (LIST#1) of artists: 2Pac Adele Amerie Beyonce Jason Aldean Shakira The Trews
I also have a list (LIST#2) that has the values #,A-Z - how would I create an alphabet jump? So If a user clicked on "A" in LIST#2 that would automatically scroll to "Adele" at the top of LIST#1 - not filter so he/she could scroll up to view 2Pac or down to view The Tews if they were not in the view yet. Its a standard Flex Spark List with an ArrayCollection as the dataProvider - the artist field is called: "title" along with a unique id field that is not visible to the user.
private function alphabet_listChange(evt:IndexChangeEvent) : void { var letter:String; letter = evt.currentTarget.selectedItems[0].toString(); trace(currentDictionary[letter]); ui_lstLibraryList.ensureIndexIsVisible(currentDictionary[letter]); [Code] ......
I am trying to develop a simple game for kids in which an Alphabet will be spoken and the kid will have to choose the correct alphabet being displayed on the screen. What I have tried to do is that I have saved each of the sound in a seperate movieclip.
how can I develop the code that randomly choose a movieclip to play the sound and then when the kid click on the correct alphabet, it adds the point and if wrong alphabet is clicked, it gives error.
Recently a client of mine decides he wanted rounded edges for his page vs. the typical square edges. This was after the initial design and at the point where it is almost complete.I told the client that in order to do this we would have to go to a full Flash web page meaning a full browser Flash page (everything is already flash).Now I told him that we could do this but because it was a new design and as you know that there is much involved in doing something like this i.e. all the paths will have to be changed because it will have to reside inside a mc etc.if there is an actual way to make the stage rounded only for future knowledge.I know I can make a round edge square or rectangle but it still has square edges at outer edge of the stage.
1. Can you create audio in Flash for an alphabet? For example, users click on "B" and audio says B. Would it have to be a button? What would the code be? Would it be an MP3 recording?
2. I have a course that needs audio put into it. It is divided in to labels and navigation is controlled by buttons. Is it possible to put audio behind each label? i.e. only have audio on that section. Also, what would the code be? I would need on/off buttons.
figure out how to make my swf files (animated buttons created in flash cs4 / as3 ) work in my dreamweaver site (cs4) as links to go from one html page to another ?
I have been looking all over the place for what seems like should be a really easy thing to accomplish.I have a swf that is 1060x630px and I would like to center it on the page... at the moment it just sits in the far left corner of the screen when I export it to html. My knowledge of html is minimal but I am guessing that this needs to be done in dreamweaver.
[URL]you will notice a slight flash of a white box before the preloader starts, i'm trying everything to make it go away! this box seems to be the same size as my embedded swf. the site and preloader are all in one swf. all i need to do is make that white box the same color as the background so it is unnoticeable.here is the code from dreamweaver (you'll notice im sticking in color values wherever i can!)
Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head>
I have a flash site (finally) but I need to host it through dreamweaver. I cant do it. I tried loading it thru the media option and it gave me an error. I have a lot riding on this site and Im at the last step only to find some new obstacle in my way.
I am new to Flash and Actionscript, so bear with meI am buidling a website in Dreamweaver CS3. Is it possible to create a preloader for an swf file, inside a div tag within a Dreamweaver document?. Take my friends site for exampe, which I suspect is made entirely in Flash: [URL] When you,click on any button inside "portfolio", a preloader symbol appears ,but the movie does not procede without the control of the red next and previous buttons at the bottom right corner. How is this done?.
I am reluctant to design everything in Flash, is that I have heard search engines such as Google have trouble indexing website's that are made entirely from Flash. Or am I wrong in thinking this?.
CS3 on a 2.4 ghz intel core 2 duo Mac running OS X 10.5.8.I have been able to create my webpages and upload them to the host. They are viewable, linkable etc. Everything is working, but now I want to include some flash elements.I built a flash file in action script 3.0 and saved it in the files folder of Dreamweaver, I dragged and dropped the swf file into the design screen and saved it. I have uploaded the html file, the swf and fla files and the created js file to the host server, but the flash element does not appear on the page when I view it in the browser.
