ActionScript 2.0 :: External Images Loaded Into Array?

To test, download and unzip the .fla. Then create a folder "photos" in the same directory. The folder photos has to have at least 8 images called img0.jpg through img7.jpg.
Here is what I'm trying to do: The site is a gallery with several albums, and several sets of thumbnails. The idea is to externally load all the images, so that you can view img1 while img2 is still loading. After page 1 is finished loading, page 2 would then load, etc.
Everything works except the image doesn't load into the thumbnail movie clip. take a look at the code, I've been fighting it for days now...

I am loading my images into an Array after my url is loaded

I am using an array to store images that I load from xml. I have an enterframe event that transforms the image, it changes the width. I have used concat to make a "copy" of the array of images. When I try to access the first array of the "untouched" images the width is changed. How can I always have a "fresh" array of the images?

So I've got an array of images,

It's part of a slide show, loading one image, waiting 4 seconds, then it loads another, etc etc. The problem is, between each image, it has to load.I'm trying to find a way to get flash to keep loading all the images in the array until they're all loaded, something to the effect of:
on the completion of the loading of the first image, start loading the second image in the array. On completion of loading that, load the third image, etc, until there are no more. I already have a variable that tells it how many items there are as well:

I am trying to build a image-gallery-type picslider class. I have a playlist.xml whose architecture should be clear from the URLLoader stuff in my code. What I aim to do is to load 3 initial images into MoviClips and place the three in an array.Then, I'll manipulate the array to allow the user to flip left or right between images, while loading others offscreen.What I am hiving trouble with is loading multiple images into MCs using the Loader object inside a loop. When I run the code below, only the last image loaded appears inside a MC on the stage.Do I need to dynamically create loaders for each iteration?

I know how to load external images using xml but the problem is if I have a lot of images to load then animate it after being loaded. I know theres a work-around with this problem but still I did'nt figure it out.

Please help I've been researching this topic for like 2 days straight and it is driving me insane because I can't seem to find a specific answer for what I'm trying to achieve and I know it can be done because I've seen end results on the web. Here is what I'm doing:
1. I created a simple museum gallery with 3 portraits hanging on the wall
2. Inside the museum portraits I created 3 different uiLoaders with a black background
3. I gave all 3 uiLoaders their own unique movieClip names
3. Inside each uiLoader will be a loaded external image via a URL
4. I DO NOT want to resize the uiLoaders - I want to scale the external images proportionately to fit inside the entire contents of the uiLoaders and still remain centered
URL...As you can see currently the 3 random external images are loaded perfectly inside the uiLoaders but you see black background and I want the photos to fit the entire contents of the uiLoaders yet still remain proportionate.[code]

I have a site in progress, but am running into a problem with the transition that plays while external images/swfs are loaded. Before, I inserted the conditional statement, if(transLoad==0),multiple mouse clicks would result in endless children being added---Let me try to explain, I have a series of buttons which load external swfs upon Click events..ex

I'm trying to implement this for an instance of ComboBox specifically, which uses a List to display the dropdown menu full of items. Lists can have icons associated with them, as described in the documentation:

... assuming IconClass1 and IconClass2 are valid classnames of symbols in our library, this code works perfectly.
Here's my question - the contents of this ComboBox will be XML-driven, populated dynamically, and I'd really rather include that icon reference as a filename instead of a classname, so that when the whole thing is implemented, the icon can be changed in the XML without opening Flash and adding a new symbol to the library. Clients aren't generally good at that sort of thing.
Ideally, I'd like to be able to find a way to reference the container for the instance of that icon class - the ComboBox.dropdown is obviously keeping a reference to each list item somewhere, and if I can find it, I can load the icon images dynamically, then addChild them to the icon instance.

I have an array with 20 elements and a shuffle function applied. Now i need to screen only 4 elements from that, which then should be deleted from the array in order to avoid repetition (next play will pick other 4 images and so on) Anyone knows if there a class i can use?

My problem is that I can't figure out how to decouple the loader from this loadNewRow function. Ideally, I'd like to figure out how to load all the swf's give them dynamic names... like thmb1loaded, thmb2loaded, thmb3loaded.. push into an a ("loaded") array and then have that be used to build the grid.Right now, its loading them every time the loadnewrow function fires. I'm sure its a simple matter of iterating a .name within a contentloaderinfo .onComplete when each swf is loaded...

what im thinking is each mc loaded is pushed into the array then on the press of a button or keyboard press the array is cleared and the movieclips that were inside the array are removed from the stage. trouble is i dont know how to write that. some guidance would be great.

[URL]I have: main.swf (a menu) and I have module.swf (content)If you navigate to Subsea Wellhead Systems/SS-15 BigBore II and click on that I have it load an external swf which covers most of the parent. So far so good. My problem is unloading the loaded 'Child' swf with the button provided on the loaded 'Child' swf.below is the code I used to load the file but I cant, for the life of me, find a way to unload it.

I spent almost a week trying to figure out how to unload a currently loaded swf using its button and loading a new swf... I have three files, a main.fla, file1.fla and file2.fla. In my main.fla, I have a code which loads the other two files. If i will click the "unload" button in the file1.swf, I would like the main.fla to unload the file1.swf and load the other file, file2.swf. Here is the code to load the file1.swf:

I have a homepage with five "links" to each swf. Now the first swf I have a custom cursor that hides the mouse. When I click on that link it plays and when I quickly go to the homepage again it hides the mouse there when it's not supposed to do it.
Same with every other link. When I was busy with the first swf and want to go to the last swf of the five, my mouse just disappears! It is almost as if it keeps on "playing" without seeing the swf...

I've used AS2.0 to build my site. I have several .jpgs that I'm loading dynamically on my flash site from my server. For some reason only some of the .jpgs are loading pixelated. I've tried to look up solutions to this, but I'm not exactly sure where a quality=best or smoothing=true script should be placed. And I'm equally as puzzled as to why only some of my .jpgs are loading pixelated? This is very frustrating, this is the code I'm using to load my images:

I have a Gallery that loads thumbnails from an XML. I have added a pre-loader to each one of the thumbnails as it is being loaded from the XML. My problem is that I can't figure out how to remove the pre-loaders after it has called the Event.COMPLETE. With my curent code, As it completes loading the thumbnails, it throws an error and only removes the very last pre-loader. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I've put together an XML gallery with previous and next buttons which navigate through my images. I've applied an alpha tween so that images fade in and fade out. Locally this works perfectly but when uploaded to the server there are delays in the images loading which means that images are not fading in - they appear suddenly and abruptly. Although the images are not particularly heavy in terms of filesize, I do realise that download speeds will vary, but I'd like obviously for the live experience to be identical to the local experience i.e. smooth & predictable.
To explain the setup:-
I have a movieclip with instance name "cover_mc" which contains a UILoader with instance name "imageHolder".

1. The PHP script reads file names and returns a string with names separated by a "|" char, then I use the split method to store them in imagesNames array and sort it2. I loop trough imagesNames array loading images3. Anytime a new image arrives I push it in imagesContainer array and check if all images are loaded to show them
The problem is there's no guarantee they arrive in the same order they were requested. So, how I sort the imagesContainer array by file name, i.e. in the same order they are in imagesNames array?
