ActionScript 2.0 :: HitTest Trigger Event AFTER Wheel Has Finished Spinning?

I have a wheel that the user can spin by flicking it with a mouse (think wheel of fortune). It needs to trigger an event once the spinning has finished depending on what section of the wheel it has landed on. I can get it to trigger an event but it triggers every time the wheel passes the hitTest object, not just when it is done. I've attached a sample of it. All help is appreciated, as I am really pulling my hair out on this one.

I am trying to make a spinning wheel and I've got it spinning fine, forum as well as a tutorial I found. Thing I could not make to work is hitTest. Actually I've got it to work but its reporting wrong details at times.

i've got a spinning wheel, similar to wheel of fortune, the only code left is how to ease out spinning the wheel? like fading out, i don't know the term. when you drag and rotate the wheel, it will continuously rotate until it fades out.

I am trying to create a spinning wheel with text on it. I have created the wheel and it is populating perfectly based on the colors that I supply to it. Now I am trying to add text to each of the parts of the wheel but am running into some problems. I cannot seem to get the text to display properly within each of the colors. I was hoping someone could help me get this to work properly. The place where I am trying to get the text to work is in the _drawSlice function. I am trying to figure out the logic to get it to work properly. Any help is appreciated. Here is my code:

I have a problem with this spinning wheel I'm working on. I have imported some png's to my library that I want to use in the wheel but they get very pixelated after the spin. Before it starts moving they look normal and sharp.

I remember seeing a tutorial on how to create the Apple/iPhone spinning wait wheel, but now I can't find it for the life of me. Anyone know what I'm talking about? It's the 12 grey bars that rotate clockwise. I'm thinking about implementing something like that before a video plays as it's loading.

I have researched all over and have found some that "kind of" work, but the coding always has issues with CS3 (my version). I am more proficient in AS2, but would be willing to try AS3 if that is the way to go.I need a script that will allow the user to use their mouse to drag a wheel that will slow down to a stop. Think "Wheel of Fortune" style. Where it stops will trigger an event.

I would like to be able to spin a wheel in flash, this wheel has 8 sections to it split up equally, it spins for a random amount of time, 3 - 7 seconds and then stops. the section which lands on the marker is the result and will take you to a specific frame. Also i would like it when it stops to gradually slow down however this is not vital.this code works for just rotating a wheel but i want to know how to randomly stop it and how to take it to another frame.

I've been in web development for years, but I never really ventured into Flash beyond simple tweens and so forth. Now I'm trying to broaden my horizons.Using code from a similar post, I've created a rough 'proof of concept' of a spinning window wheel.I tweaked the AS2 code a bit to work the way I'd like it to, but one thing is still tripping me up... How to get the wheel to stop in designated 'zones' so that answers will be clearly visible in the windows.To put it another way, I'd like this thing to work exactly as shown (randomly), but always stop exactly aligned on one of say 12 zones or slices of the circle

I have a banner, and on this banner there are three wheels which spin continuously by way of motion tweens.What I want to do is have them stop spinning for a few seconds and then continue spinning, this process will be repeated every time.
So my question is: How would I accomplish this?I know I could just add a bunch of frames to stop the wheels from spinning, but I was wondering if there's a script that will do this without having to add frames.

I'm a flash newbie working on a "game" for an architecture grad school class, using 2004 MX and and a Flash 8 demo. The game is a player in a street scene, where the user moves the player around with the arrow keys, and the up and down keys also zoom in and out. That part is working okay. My other objective is that when the player collides with any of the bulding facades, text describing the building would pop up, and a sound would be played. This is where I'm having trouble. I'm having some success with using hitTest to keep the player contained within the buildings, but great difficulting trying to get sound to play or text to appear when the player collides with a building front.
I converted one of the building facades on the "obstacles" layer to a movie clip ("snare3_mc"), with export to actionscipt checked. I'm trying to reference this movie clip in the "actions:Frame 1" code to play a sound when the player collides with it, and I'm also doing a test to see if it works by having it trace some text. I can get the trace to work for the "obstacles" layer with the buildings, but not specifically for the "obstacles.snare3_mc" facade (the green one). If I change line 123 of the code from "obstacles.snare3_mc" to just "obstacles", the trace text works, but I hope to have it specifically address the green building, not all of the buildings. Somehow I must not be properly loading or properly referencing the green object, my "snare3_mc" movie clip. Any ideas?.
Beyond not being able to specifically address the "snare3_mc" in the code to get the hitTest to even work, I can't get my audio clip to play no matter what I try. I'm trying to make the player's collision with this movie clip trigger the "snare3.wav" sound, but to no avail. The part of the code where I'm attempting this is the same hitTest with the trace text, lines 123-128 of the "actions:Frame1" code. Again, I'm probabl-y improperly loading or improperly addressing the sound in code.
The one other thing I want to do is to try and make text pop-up in a hidden box when the player collides with the green facade ("snare3_mc"). Ideally this text would appear out of nowhere when the player is in collision with the green facade, but dissapear entirely when the player moves away from the facade. I haven't even tried this yet in my .fla, but would want it as part of the same hitTest referred to above, lines 123-128.
Attached are 2004 MX and Flash 8 .fla files of this rough, ugly test version of my game.as the semester is winding down and my professor is not so into Flash or games. I feel like I am close, but really need help with these three little issues: properly referencing movie clips in the code for the hitTest, making the hitTest play a sound in my library, and making the hitTest pop up a text box with text while the player is colliding with the building facade.

I've built an array of movieclips - all of them sitting static on the stage. I'm trying to trigger the clips to play as they are hit by an invisible/alpha 0 bar which sweeps across the stage... kind of like a mexican wave? I'm still a bit crappy with arrays - here's my code:

if I have an event listerner (mouse, keyboard, enterframe,....event) that is being triggered, and when it finishes its event, something that is able to detect the finished event listener and fire out another sets of event.
It works more like MOTION_FINISH in TweenEvent, but it is only available for TweenEvent only, what if I want to detect a mousclick, keyboard, enterframe or even touch event?

I have a slideshow that loads an image via XML, then adds said image to a placeholder inside a movie clip, and then proceeds to play a little sliding animation via the movie clip. What I need to do is figure out how to get an event that the movie clip is finished and sitting back on frame 1 so that I can run a "nextImage" function that loads the next image from the XML. I'm pretty new to actionscript, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to properly handle what should be a simple event. If I put a simple listener at the end of the movieclip, it doesn't talk to the main script at all?

I'm trying to listen to the mouseWheel event when a user hovers an object and scroll the mouse wheel. My problem is that the event only dispatches when the object with the listener has been clicked.
After the object (or the stage) has been clicked the mouseWheel event dispatches as expected.
How can I make it dispatch witchout clicking the stage/object? I've attached a simple sample file to show you what I mean. Hover the colored box and use the mouse wheel. Then click anywhere on the stage and hover the box again and use the mouse wheel.

I have asked before but that was a week ago and ive changed alot of code. I am still having the same issue of trying to ignore MOUSE_MOVE while a tween plays and then reactivate MOUSE_MOVE on Finish. I have tried timers aswell to anticipate the finish with no luck as if i move some code a error #1009 happens.
I have alos tried motion_finished, if statements and even values with no luck as the code will just not function unless left as below.[code]...
