ActionScript 3.0 :: Trigger An Event Or Function When A Video Is Finished Playing?
Apr 14, 2009
I am currently working on a website that has a video in it. I have a background picture that fades out just before the video is played. I want to fade the background back in after the video is finished.
i'm just new to actionscript, how will i trigger an javascript function when i click the button play and also when i finished playing an mp3 file song?
Im streaming a flv and i need to go and the next frame afterwards, or trigger an event. But at the moment the video just stops on the end...hows is it possible to carry on playing the flash movie?
I have a wheel that the user can spin by flicking it with a mouse (think wheel of fortune). It needs to trigger an event once the spinning has finished depending on what section of the wheel it has landed on. I can get it to trigger an event but it triggers every time the wheel passes the hitTest object, not just when it is done. I've attached a sample of it. All help is appreciated, as I am really pulling my hair out on this one.
I have a slideshow that loads an image via XML, then adds said image to a placeholder inside a movie clip, and then proceeds to play a little sliding animation via the movie clip. What I need to do is figure out how to get an event that the movie clip is finished and sitting back on frame 1 so that I can run a "nextImage" function that loads the next image from the XML. I'm pretty new to actionscript, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to properly handle what should be a simple event. If I put a simple listener at the end of the movieclip, it doesn't talk to the main script at all?
I'm trying to use a playing sound to trigger an event when it finishes: onSoundComplete = function(){ redbtn._alpha = 100; redbtn.enabled = true; } I have the button fading and disabling nicely (on (release)) but when the sound stops playing, I need them to return to alpha 100 and enabled=true. It doesn't work but there's no error generated either.
I'm trying to get a video I've placed on stage in an FLV component to Loop to the beginning once it's finished playing. However, once it plays through it stops and doesn't loop round, although the trace statement I'm calling in the loopVideo function is appearing in the output window? Here's my code...
I'm working on an mp3 player. I want to trigger an event when the track finishes playing. I've created a function that will just trace a statement so that I know the event listener is working, but I can't seem to get it to trigger. Here is the playSong function in which the code is used:
Code: function playSong(mySong:Number):void { var myURL = my_songs[mySong].@URL; playingTra = mySong; current_song = mySong; my_sound = new Sound(); [Code] .....
I tried to add in the following lines, but that instead institutes some playback issues: Code: if (my_channel){ my_channel.stop(); my_channel.removeEventListener(Event.SOUND_COMPLETE, stuff); }
I need to create a splash page type thing. It needs to play a flash movie and then when that movie has finished show a full screen image using html/js. THe movie will be flash and the image display will be javascript powered.
I am trying to build my first AS 3.0 project using examples from O'relliy. I have loaded an FLV using the NetStream class. I added an Event Listener find out when the video has finished playing, probably not the right method. After the video finishes, I'd like to load a static image and a replay button. What should I use to trigger these things to load? What should I use to load them?
Within a specific canvas, I would like a user to be able to press a combination of keys which will trigger an event.(a bit like a cheat in an old megadrive game). Not sure where to start though. Anyone know if it is possible and if so could you give me a clue with how to start?
I'm attempting to use Flash for displaying "scrolls" on our educational access channel. I have an announcement on each frame, which has a 7 sec delay, and a footer that displays the current time. What I would like to do, using the vars the Hours and the Minutes trigger a command that at a set time, like 8:20, it would jump to another swf file that might contain a video playback component. I can't seem to come up with the right combination to trigger it a set time. Here is what the frame 1 AS contains.
ActionScript Code: stop(); var wT:uint = 1000; //wT = waitingTime var ttL:uint = 1; //ttL = times to loop function customTimer (timeToWait:int = 1):void { [Code] .....
I am trying to work with the EventDispatcher class to dispatch a custom event to stop a video from playing. The video plays inside a MovieClip with an attached class file called PlayerProfile. I want the video in the PlayerProfile MovieClip to stop playing when the user clicks on another MovieClip called ScrollBox. I'm getting no compile or runtime erros, but the code is not stopping the video. I have seen use of a public static constant to represent the custom event. Is that what I am missing here.
if I have an event listerner (mouse, keyboard, enterframe,....event) that is being triggered, and when it finishes its event, something that is able to detect the finished event listener and fire out another sets of event.
It works more like MOTION_FINISH in TweenEvent, but it is only available for TweenEvent only, what if I want to detect a mousclick, keyboard, enterframe or even touch event?
I'm working on a project where a SWF will play (as sort of a splash), followed by JS. After the video plays, the navigation and content will appear, and the video will fade out. I'm just wondering what would be the best way to accomplish this? Play the video first and then load everything via ajax behind the scenes? The goal is to be as seamless as possible and I am having a flash asset provided to me by the client.
A.swf has an empty_mc on it's stage. Loading into the empty_mc is B.swf.B.swf plays C.flv. After the C.flv is done playing I want B.swf to tell A.swf to go to frame 3
i have a client who wants to make a school system on his website, now i've done that, however what my client wants is to put wmv or flv files inside every lesson and he wants to be sure that the user who has registered to the online school WATCHES fully all the wmv or flv and then redirect him to a quiz page where he will take a test.My client wants to be sure that the users are watching the wmv or flv files before doing any quiz.SO is there a way where i can know when the wmv or flv file has FINISHED playing so that i would redirect them to another page??
In as2 I am using: _parent.gotoAndPlay(_parent._currentframe + 1); to have one movieclip play and then when it finishes the next movieclip plays. How do I do this is as3?
I am looking for code that would let me detect when an flv has finished playing and advance the playback head to the next frame. So to set this up I have my flv on frame 1 (instance name vid1) and I want it to automatically "gotoandstop" on frame 2 when "vid1" is finished playing.
