I take the flash drive to and from school to work on homework, and I have to manually update those files onto my computer. How can I automatically have the files on my flash drive update the files on my computer?

how to sync to mpr3 audio files at specific points?
I need to load separate SWF files depending on different flash buttons being pressed. The problem is I see a flicker inbetween SWF's being played. I think the flicker is where it goes back one frame - but I do not know how to solve this.
The first bike should scroll along to the left then stop, buttons should then appear that allow you to load the external/separate SWF files.
If it is possible to link two separate flash files. I am trying to get one flash file to play another file.

I have a combo box that is loading in separate .swf files when an item is selected. In the file that I'm loading in, there is a TileList component and a media player. Before I added in those items, it was loading in, but now, this is the error that I get:

Now, I'd like to move the blue color coded script to the separate package. When I do that, I've got many reference errors. how the code should look like, when it's in separate package, with all the references to variables that work? And how to call this function from Main class?
- in the parent.fla i created a dynamic txt box and var String named 'txt', this initialises the dynamic text box content to say "parent value".
- in the child.fla i tried to assign and send a new string value i.e. "child value" to 'var txt' which in found within parent.fla. At this point if everything was to work fine the dynamic txt box in parent.fla should output "child value".
I have a 5 menu system in my Flash file, and to keep size down each element of the menu is a separate Flash file. So basically if "About" is pressed the about file loads onto the stage... The problem I am having is, when a menu item is pressed, let's say "About", I want whatever file has been loaded previously, I want it to fade out and then load the selected file... How could I do this? Once the menu is pressed I could easily make an as to fade the current movie out, but how would the file know what to load as the next item?

In an attempt to organize my code, I'm trying to split up my (lengthy) main controller class into separate files, but my new files must still have access to the variables and functions of the main controller class.I'm trying to cut and paste code from my controller class into a new class/file, allowing the controller class to call the new class, and allowing the new class to have access to the controller class's properties and function.Assuming I'm not totally bludgeoning appropriate design patterns, below is my unsuccessful attempt at accomplishing this task:

In my project I used main document file, which could load multiple nested animations as a separate files. In the main document I had a global function, for example:
_global.onAnimationEnd(mc:MovieClip){...}
and in animations (could be nested) I just called it like:
onAnimationEnd(this);

What I'm attempting to do is "ID" post to "schedule.txt" and "STime" post to "time.txt" is this possible or do I need to write a php script for each text file? Or am I way off base here? Now I have gotten "ID" to post to "schedule.txt" but not the other.

For the above script, am trying to load a swf file to load into an main movie file. This is for a flash website am working on, and i wanted to know if the above .Since having all the pages (6 pages) in one flash file, it would take long time to load, so am planning to have each of the 6 pages in an separate swf file and load these into main swf file, on click of a button, Also there needs to be a loading bar for each page.
I've created a small application that links various Sound Clips to corresponding Sound variables, and the individual start and stop commands work fine. However, when I try altering the volume, the controls affect all the sounds in the movie. I'd like to refrain from creating separate SWF files to represent each sound, but I will if I have to.
View 1 RepliesWhat I need to do is assign 5 separate dynamic text fields to 5 seperate buttons and at the same time to those same five buttons i would like to add 5 images that i would be able to change merely by swapping out the images in the file theyre in on the server.I would also like to get a nice transition between the images...ALSO i want to dynamically load the images for the buttons that will be used for switching from picture to picture(which im thinking i will be able to do after i know the how to do point the aforementioned things.)
Through tutorials I've found around the net I've been able to get most of the parts together... but i get lost because what they show you for AS2 they don't for AS3 and vice versa, at least that ive seen.so... I guess my question is... would i need to set up 5 seperate dynamic text fields on the stage and then set each one of them to one of the corresponding button. If so what AS code would i need to use to do so. And if not what would i need to do?
The other part of the question would be I know about the UILoader... would i be able to use it as my buttons and images, if so would i need 5 seperate ui loaders for both the Thumbnail buttons and the images or is there a way that would be better to do it? and once i do that would i do the transitions using frames and tweens like with AS2?
I need to allow users to preview audio files for purchasing. I have CF pages that return records form a SQL database. Each record contains the same swf file however, each swf file points to a different mp3 for previews of different audio examples. So far, everything is working fine. My problem is that I need to be able to stop the sound from one swf when I click to play a second swf .The only solutions I see in Flash forums deal with loaded swf files. These are not loaded files they are separate files within a page. The question is: How do control one swf from another swf in the same page.The following items have not worked: soundChannel.stop();,soundMixer.stopAll()
View 2 RepliesIf I create a new flash AS3 file and create two blank keyframes in my actions layer I can add actions to each keyframe separately no problem. I can then easily switch between the actions frames from the menu bar on the left of the actions input panel. However if I try and do this on any of my projects i've been working on for a while when I create a new blank keyframe in the actions layer and try to add actions to it, I get sent straight back to my first actions keyframe and not a nice blank page. Can I even apply seperate actions to seperate keyframes?
View 6 RepliesThis is NOT the same as my last thread as i am after three and NOT ONE as last time. In the attached movie there are three seperate movies loading into three seperate tweens. Please note that i am happy with this movie as it is, and do not want to change anything about it except for the script itself. It refurs to three seperate clips "b.a","d.c" and "f.e". What i want is for the script to incorperate all three clips under one name of "mc" And instead of have three seperate widths, "width 1","width2" and "width3" i want the script to also incorperate all three widths and heights into just one name of "width" and one name of "height".

View 4 RepliesI'm a total novice and I think I can't find an answer to this question because it is so basic. There are all kinds of tutorials on FLVPlayback, streaming video from a URL, etc.,but nothing I can find on how to make it play nice with the rest of the flash animation in my .swf. I assume this is a matter of simple actionscript (AS3), but my ignorance is profound.
So . . . I've got a flash animation that leads into a gotoAndPlay button, which references the frame where my video starts. The video, streaming from my url, plays fine, but if it takes a moment to buffer, the main timeline in my .swf just continues on through the frames I've created for the length of the video. Since my intention is to have the video finish and loop back to the intro. animation, ending with the play button displaying again, what happens is that it loops before the video is done playing, leaving the audio still streaming but the viewer staring at the play button. In other words, if there is no lag time for buffering, the number of frames before it loops is enough for the whole video. If it lags for buffering, it cuts off part of my video, prematurely looping to the intro.
I have an animation and sound running along the timeline. And step forward and step back buttons. The sound is set to stream to keep the animation and sound in sync with each other. This works fine when played from the start all the way to the end. But if the step forward or step back button is pressed, the animation will fall around 5-10 fames out of sync with the sound. And will remain like this until the end.
How can this be fixed so the sound and aniamtion won't fall out of sync.
Ive tried converting the SharedObject tutorial [url...] provided by Adobe from AS2 to AS3. When one client moves the ball, the other client should be able to see the ball moving on another swf, and vice versa.The AS2 one worked fine with my flash media server 3.5 and wampp server on. When I tried the AS3 one, the sharedObject cannot sync, even though the connection was successful and the sharedObject "position" was created in the server.[code]...
