ActionScript 2.0 :: Load Attachmovie - Can't See The Duplicated Movies
May 15, 2009
I'm new in actionscript and i need a horizontal scroller with duplicated movies. The scroller works fine (isn't in the code below) but i can't see the duplicated movies or anything for that matter.
Is there a way to link duplicated movieclips to the library? Because I need to attach these duplicated mc's to an other mc. So my problem is that I don't have a linkage identifier?
I'm making a snowglobe for the holidays and as such, I'm looking to have it snow INSIDE the globe only. What I've done is make a mask for the globe so that the "snow" movie clip will only be visible within the globe. I also have a duplicate movie action in my main movie to create a lot of snow.
The problem, though, is that the duplicates do not get masked like the main snow clip. Is there a way to fix this?
Is there any way of Duplicating a movie and then calling upon it to drag and drop it else where? I can't seem to get it working since the script for drag and drop calls upon an instance name - and the instance name for the duplicated movie has a variable at the end so its different all the timeeg duplicateMovieclip("movieclip", "instance name"+i, i)I don't even know if its possible calling upon an instance name that doesn't exist until something is clicked O.o;
why this code dosent work at the same time in the timeline, and why only envent put inside the attacHMovies or duplicated Movies work, if i put them in the forr loops they dont work.
I am creating a gallery that loads the images from the library. The only method that I managed to do this is by creating movie clips that contain each of those images and then calling those movie clips from the library using the .attachMovie method because this method only works for movie clips and not instances of other library items such as actual images.
Is there anyway in ActionScript to create an instance of an image asset in the library?
I used the scrolling thumbnails to make a buttons that use attachMovie to load movieclips from the library to the stage. I think i have put it together correctly but nothing is loading into the holder.
i was doing testing on the first 2 thumbnails the first 2 chairs in the scrolling thumbnails I wanted it to load movieclips from the library to the stage in a designated holder
here is the code i used for the scrolling thumbnails-
If i cant get a border to auto resize to the MC as MC's are load with attachMovie(); , can i get a border to animate a resize to a specific ._height, ._width (also with a var speed = #)? Am i just totally F'ing this thing up or what. Heres and example: [URL] i would make a second frame and have the AS for the border load a different value and a new MC.
I have created an interactive atlas. I am using my favorite map zooming and panning tools supplied by Senocular which can be found here: [URL] For the panning/zooming/drawBox tool to work the map features must be buried deep within several movieclips. There is one level at which you can put buttons that aren't effected by the code for the panning/zooming etc. Buttons have to go on this level or higher if you want them to work.
The way my atlas is set up - there is a main interface that has these tools plus the menu system. The menu (xml; created by Lost and Sen - brilliant) loads in two external swfs - one is the map itself and the other is a set of "controls" for that particular map (radio buttons, check boxes, text links, etc.).
Okay so here is my problem. I have a couple of external swfs that have buttons on them that do things when you roll over and off them. If I have these buttons sitting on the map then when it gets loaded into the main interface they no longer work. So I am trying to use attachMovie to attach them to an MC within the zooming tools in the main interface at a level they can be active (oh god I hope that makes sense). But it's not working.
I am guessing it's because the code to attach them is being fired before the external can be loaded into the interface. So I'm not really sure where to fire the attachMovie code. Does it go with the external? Does it go with the controls for the external?
I'm trying to understand how AS3 works compared to AS2 when using navigation buttons to load external .swf files.
In AS2, I would have 5 menu buttons. Each button contained a script to load an external .swf file into layer 2 (on top of my existing movie). It would also contain a line of code to unload any movie that was already in Layer 2. This way new movies came in on top and were easy to identify when it came time for them to be unloaded.
Now in AS3, I can't find a similar way to work with external movies, since there are no longer layers. I create a movieLoader and add a child to it to load my external .swf - that works fine.But how do I tell each button to remove any children that already exist before loading the new child? The way it works now, the movies just keep piling on top of each other whenever I click a button.[code]...
[URL]My goal is to make all animations to load at once, because right now it only loads (loadMovie) on whatever you click, therefore there is a delay between the link you click and what will open.how you could preload all animations before you enter the site, I need your help, your any tip, and your advice on what code should I use.[URL]
I bought a template from flashmo which comes one main flash file and photoalbum fl. file. The main flash file plays swf. file from photoalbum. I like to create many photoalbums and play them on the main file.I have no idea how to do that. I spend hours and hours searching online but I cannot find information.The actionscript that is related to playing movie is below.
import mx.transitions.*; import mx.transitions.easing.*; // var numMenuX = 605;
Ok, I know this is probally has a simple answer. but i cant figure it out. i have 3 buttons each controling a different movie clip. but the effect i want is when you click a button the assigned movie clip loads ontop of the other. basically this is because the movie clips are alpha tweens and i need that transition effect
I am trying to load 9 movies into a flash, I want them to be loaded randomly and to loop, right now I am using this script but it is playing them in a certain order. Is there a way they can be loaded randomly?
var mcl:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader(); var list:Object = new Object(); mcl.addListener(list);
I have a video, 14 minutes long, at various times, I need to load information for a few seconds, and then unload it.At the moment, I'm doing it all in the timeline which works fine, however I'm limited by 16,000 keyframes which for the last video, was about 7 minutes (full video was 9).Is there a way to load and unload in 1 long action script file at the beginning of the video? eg (not actual code btw)
at 4 seconds, load 1.swf into container1 at 14 seconds, unload 1.swf from container1 at 16 seconds, load 2.swf into container1
I have an empty movie clip which I use to load movies into it...(A) and (B)...
My question is: If I load movie "A", and later on I load "B" (here is my quesion) what happen to the loading process if I need to load "A" again? is goint to load it from scratch or some how stays in the cache?
This is my site [URL] (click on "portfolio", "about us") so far only this... My goal is to make all animations to load at once, because right now it only loads (loadMovie) on whatever you click, therefore there is a delay between the link you click and what will open. How you could preload all animations before you enter the site. Example of what I mean is here: [URL]
