I have succesfully gotten the "loading a random background" to work. But now I want to try a couple of other things with it.I would like to adjust the size and alpha, which it isn't happening. And I would also like to repeat the the image (which was generated randomly) 4 other times on the page.So far I have place the random image and mask within a movie, and then placed it on the main timeline.That works great, then I am sliding same image from behind the first image to create a total of 5 images on my documento get the other 4 images on the main document have repeated the movie that holds the random image code, but nothing is showing up in the other 4 instances
I've just followed the Kirupa random loading background tutorial and I am getting a syntax error in the actionscript. I want the random loading swf's to load on top of the background, so I made the top layer the "location" movie clip with the actions to randomly load movie. The exact syntax error message I'm getting is as follows...Scene=Scene 1, Layer=location, Frame=1: Line 2: The JavaScript
In the bottom layer of my main movie, Id like to put a random background image which loads on entering the frame and stretches to full screen. I would like to use a preloader for the image so Im trying to load a swf using this which I found here:
[URL]
Code: choice = Math.round(Math.random()*5); switch (choice) { case 0 :
[Code]....
but I could not get it to stretch full screen. How do I get the externally loaded swf to stretch full screen and be able to resize via a listener from within my main movie?
A background music looping in the back, that starts with the opening of the swf and never stops. I think I achieved that with this bit of code :import flash.media.Sound;
Finally I need to jump from frame to frame randomly to play various animations. For example :Project starts, background music starts playing, we hear random sounds played one after the other, while some animations can be seen on screen, playing in a random order.
im playing with the load random movie (but loading a random xml file instead) based on the wonderful tutorial from front page and was wondering whether anyone can show me the work around/upgrade to AS2 for this bit of script since im publishing to Flash 8 /AS2 and it doesnt work:
I am now using the code for my background image which will rotate when you enter a new gallery.I can't get it to randomize.[code]I have tried adding: Math.floor(Math.random() * total); and it almost works. It seems everytime the last node is called it stops working (also at other random times, haven't found a pattern).
I have a question regarding the Random Background image/swf tut.
The AS that does the work is this: [AS]on (release) { choice = Math.round(Math.random()*5); switch (choice) { case 0 : location.loadMovie("image0.swf"); break;
I have this site[url]... and i want to make a random image background.so it is not always the same image. and at this point i dont need the radio buttons.
What I want is something kind of like this:However, I don't want it to respond to the mouse at all. I just want random sized circles, on different layers, and different alpha values, floating around on their own.I could do in the timeline, with symbols and motion paths, but it wouldn't really be random at all. I thought it would be better in ActionScript.Can anyone point me in the right direction here? If I could even find a tutorial or example of creating basic random movement that would be great. I did find this:...but this isn't what I want either. I don't want 'jerky' movement. I just want them to float in random directions. That code also doesn't seem to be very flexible
how I can add a random background to my flash site. This script should generate a random background everytime someone views my site... Exactly like this site: [URL] Visit it 2-3 times to see how it does it.
I want to have a background that has random movie clips playing. Originally I was going to have long timelines with blank frames. Is there a simple a frame action that I can use that stops the playhead and makes it wait for certain amount of time and then plays?
What would be the best way to get my random background to fade in? It is loaded using an XML file, and the images are large so when the site loads it takes a sec then... BAM - - image, lol.Heres my code:
I have flash site and client wants random fullscreen background image to load on refresh. sounds easy right ?. but i've tried a lot of components and code snippets but it's causing headaches as nothing seems to work. i have a client squirming because it isn't done.
I did purchase a component from flashden (randombgholder) which does exactly what i want, but it seems to clash with the flashloaded fCMS system i have working in place, and somehow knocks it out, but that could be my bad amateur flash coding causing it. And when i go to center the swf over the background using his code he provided it goes haywire. perhaps i could do a random fullscreen background image on page refresh in html?? i tried some css ones, but nothing works probably because i'm very new to flash and the likes.
im not exactly sure where to start right now im using a script for dhtml to rotate imaged randomly what i hope to accomplish is background , that will have some type of transition effect and randomly show my images
i have 32 images atm i would like to rotate through i found this and have tried to use it , but not exactly what i want , i need a transitional effect of somekind, and want it to rotate at a given amount of time , say maybe 12seconds[URL]...
I just started working with AS3 and want to make my personal website with images in background. Now, I'm having one image... but I want to have more images in random order. I know I should use Math.random, but no progress
Access of undefined property _id. Access of undefined property _id. Access of undefined property listLoader. Access of undefined property stImage.
Here is my code: XML.ignoreComments = false; XML.ignoreProcessingInstructions = false; var _xml:XML; var _xmlLdr:URLLoader = new URLLoader( new URLRequest("dat/xml/bg.xml") ); listLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, gotList); [Code] .....
For a fullscreen AIR app, I want to have a tiling image (JPEG, PNG or whatever) in the background. The app is displayed on large screens in a public building, and to achieve a cool effect I want the background image to "scroll" infinitely, with the direction of scrolling changing with an interval in time. The background must be tiling and always filling the screen. Performance is of importance.What would be the best approach for this? I am thinking toward pixel-level bitmap manipulation. I have no experience in this field and I can't find any good examples/tutorials online.
I have a random motion script that I need to remove when the object in random motion hovers over a specific area in the background. I need the object to just keep moving in the direction it was going in and not randomly switch directions or bounce.This is my script for the random motion which is on the object:[code]
I've got two files A and B. A generates a random number in a dynamic text box and loads an image as the background:
[Code]...
I'm trying to avoid useing a button to send the number from A to B, and instead am trying to use an event listener that sends the number when A loads background.jpg; but the number never gets sent (I start with B open already, and then open A). I've gotten this to work with an onRelease event for a button , so i know the LocalConnection coding works, but as I said I want to avoid using a button to send the number. I'm sure it's right in front of me but i've got no clue why it isn't working, so I defer to wiser minds.
I have tried a lot of different google searches to find an answer to my problem, but have come away more confused than anything! Also i'm working in AS2 (using Flash CS3).I have main.swf loaded first, and all I want is a series of swf's to load invisibly in the background so they are ready to appear instantly when accessed.
I am trying to load swf file as a child to the background of the parent (master_swf)unfortunately when I am loading external swf it come in the front of the parent, This is a complex presentation so I dont want to create master of a master to load the child and the "master" to a super master..This is my loading code of the swf:
///////////////////////////////////////// var introStage:Loader = new Loader(); introStage.load(new URLRequest("C:/flashFiles/SwfAnimation/Intro.swf")); introStage.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Even t.COMPLETE, introStop);

I've inherited a website with a huge (2.5MB) flash menu system and would like to know if there is an elegant way to load it in the background from maybe an intro page that redirects to the home page after a certain amount of time - or possible when the menu is done loading.
