I have a mouse trailer which trails pixie dust and would like it to follow a movie clip instead of the mouse. Here is the script I have for the mouse trailer... the mc is named mc_fly.

I made spiral rotating line in 3D space animation using Flash CS4. I would like for my 3D spiral Movie clip to follow the mouse movements of a visitor.
My code works.....but....the spiral decreases in size and eventually disappears when moved to certain sections.
In short, what I am trying to do is to keep my spiral effect constantly the same size and movable on the screen.

I am trying to have a slingshot follow the mouse from a pivot point: that is, have it rotate from its registration point, not follow the mouse around the stage, or have 36o-degree rotation. The mouse will pass over an invisible button, which, on press, will go to and play an animation in a different scene, of a rock zooming to the target. This in turn will go to and play another animation in a different scene. I have a very basic understanding of Actionscript, and I am working in Flash MX (my school won't upgrade)

First off, lemme start by saying that this site is incredibly awesome. Every time I have a problem or wish to learn something in Flash I turn to [URL]. Now for my problem. Have you ever played Madness? You know how, depending on where the mouse is, the hand rotates i.e. points at the mouse's current position? Well, I want to learn how to do that. I have a blank flash movie which has a circle drawn in the middle I then have a movie clip symbol called "star", it is basically a line drawing of a star Within the main movie, I have the "star" snapped to the circle so that I can make a "motion tween" to rotate the star around the circle. What I want to do, is make the "star" rotate around the circle but only doing it when the mouse cursor is being moved around the circle. So the "star" is following the mouse cursor, but the star should remain clipped to the curcle.

Is there anyway to make a movieclip follow the mouse. I have a menu, as a movieclip and when i roll over the menu i want something to pop up where the mouse is that says 'click & drag to scroll' my main menu is called: container_mc the movieclip i want to appear i have exported it for actionscript and is called mouseovermenu.This is the AS3 i have so far:

I have tried using gotoAndStop(nextFrame) and gotoAndStop(currentFrame+1) in my code and neither of those work right. How would I get it to work the way I want it to?

I'm working on a tank game for my Flash class that has a cannon that's supposed to rotate with the mouse. Unfortunately I can't get the rotation to work properly.
Firstly the cannon does not follow the mouse in full 360 degrees and does this weird rubberbanding "bounce" back to a previous position. Secondly when it does follow it does so in the opposite direction in which the mouse is moved.
The cannon is a movie clip and nothing is put on the stage (this is done by the code itself). Everything is located in the library and all the coding is done through AS files.
My experience with coding in flash is minimal, the past couple of weeks being my first exposure to it, just to give you an idea where I stand. Below is the code for cannon.

But unfortunately, the ship does not follow mouse rotation. The ship only rotates with respect to the mouse when you move the ship, not when you move the mouse.

how to make the camera follow my hero (mc), I think the problems involve me using the mouse to move my player instead of the keyboard. This is my code:

I am making my second flash game, I am still very much a beginner. This time i am trying to make a platformer in the style of fancy pants adventure. To do this i obviously need to make the camera follow my character. The problem is; i simply don't know how. I have yet to find a CS5 compatible solution with my less than good google skills, and so here I am.

I have two movie clips on top of each other. The one underneath is a button and the first movieclip is not always no top of it so everything is fine, the bottom one listens for Clicks and Mouse.ROLL_OVER just fine. However whenever the first movie clip moves and happens to stop overtop the button, that is where the problems begin.
Is there any way for me to make the movie clip on top somehow cause the ROLL_OVER to get through to the underlying movie clip as well as the clicks?

I'm not sure what to call this particular way of making the movieclip follow the mouse.When the mouse moves up, the movieclip plays through the frame. If the mouse moves down, the movieclip plays in reverse? I think that's how it works.

if I attach two movie clips MC1 and MC2 on the stage.MC1 has a simple button also. MC2 is transparent.First I attach the MC1 and then I attach MC2. Both on the stage. So obviously, MC2 is added over the MC1. In this situation, I cannot click the button which is place in the MC1.If Im not wrong, in AS2, if the MC2 is transparent, the button in the MC1 can still respond to the mouse events.

i have had this file sitting around a while and what i would like to do is make the blob/bubbles mouse trailer actually set as a mask for an image or mc. all the code sits on a small control clip just outside the stage.
