hi I wanna know if there is a way to make the upload in flash (filereference) starts when I hit a buttom , for example the user select the file then fill the form when press the button ok the file that the user selected starts to upload.

I have several buttons in a movie and I want to be able to rollover an individual button and play the sound for that button and when I rolloff I want the sound for that button to stop.
View 6 RepliesI can't believe how impossible it has been to find info about this. I'm sort of a beginner with actionscript, but this shouldn't be as hard as I'm finding it to be.
I'm using AS2. I have an ordinary FLV video playing with one of the skins that comes with the Flash software (CS3). That all works perfectly fine. What I need to do, however, is add a large "PLAY" button over top of the movie. I have made that work also. But, I need the button to disappear when the movie starts playing, because it is obviously in the way and making it hard to view the video.
Some forums suggested making that button disappear when it is clicked. That would be fine, except that the video player skin also has a play button, and if someone clicks that button instead of my new large button, I still need the large button to disappear.
So what I'm trying to figure out how to do is something like: if the FLV is playing, make this object (the button) disappear or become invisible. This can't be that difficult!

After a few years of using Flash I am creating my first project in AS3 and am running into some problems which are quite common involving targeting movieclips and controlling them. Basically I have a fla which has an MC on the timeline with an instance name of INFO_MC. Now i want this MC to be invisible when the swf starts and I have managed this by using the following code: Actionscript Code: INFO_MC.visible = false;
This is fine. However I get stuck when I try to make INFO_MC visible when I click a button in a loaded swf. How would I target INFO_MC from a button inside a loaded swf. Do I need to add an event to the button and then have a listener on the root timeline which would turn INFO_MC visible when it hears that the button has been clicked?
I've got a site that is using loadSound to play some mp3s and it works fine. however, the sound starts to stream, and then replays itself like a second later. my guess is that its playing faster than the load is going and when it gets to the point where it hasn't loaded enough, it starts to replay it, but i'm not sure that that is the exact problem. my code:

now, i tried making a playTrack function that i can call with setTimeout and i put that in the onLoad in place of track.start(), but that didn't work either (i was hoping to not start playing the track for 3 seconds to give it some time to buffer).
I need to make a countdown timer that starts at 1 minute, in this format 00:01:00.0.I found some code online that achieved this, but its in AS1. I've found some other examples/walkthoughs, but they are really basic and have no milliseconds.

Is there a way I can specify a certain image to be loaded before everything else in the flash file and before the first frame to start?

Once released what I want it to do is FINISH the axe chopping down THEN start the specified scene. the problem? the movie of the axe doesn't complete before the selected scene starts.

Is it possible to make a flash for a viewer to upload and display a photo temporarily, possibily automatically resize it if it is too small or large, while at the same time a few fixed lines of measurements appear on top of the photo that can be stretched or shrinked so the viewer can measure part of the photo?

The odd thing is that no error is thrown AND (the strangiest) the complete and the progress events are correctly fired while no request has been done, and my php isn't receiving anything !

View 2 RepliesI want my file upload to be very simple, and what could be simpler than just a single button. The requirements are that you should be able to upload multiple files at once. It would definitely be an advantage if I could add file format filters as well, and design the button by myself (including the hover event).
I searched and found Plupload, which seemed to be awesome with the easy setup and functionality, but I can't quite figure out how to create my button; I've only found their Custom upload, which prints out the file names and requires at least one click on another button before it's done (and I can apparently not add any hover-attribute). I tried to edit the JavaScript to make the form be sent after all the files had been added, but failed.
How can i make it so a when you press a button it starts a countdown but every other press dosent reset it?
