ActionScript 2.0 :: Movie With Three Buttons - Add A Preloader In Front Of It?
Aug 14, 2003
I made a movie with three buttons that start 3 external movies using the loadMovie script.It took me a while. Now I want to add a preloader in front of it. I tried a couple tutorials, but couldn't find one that handled the actionscript for this.
I've created a movie clip that contains several buttons that each load a separate movie clip when they are clicked. I would like to create a pre-loader for each of the separate movie clips because they will be rather large files when I finish adding content to them.
Below is the code I used to get the buttons load the movie clips. How to incorporate a pre-loader into this code
Code: //##### My Code var myLoader:Loader = new Loader(); addChild(myLoader);//first, the loaded clip is added to the stage wl myLoader.x = 140;//then it is positioned
I have been working on a site of mine, and I wanted to make a 360 rotation view thing with some pictures (12 shots all from different angels around the same axis). I need to make a preloader load everything up front, so there wont be any legging.
My best guess was making a slide show kinda thing, with an rotation and zoom bar. And before the slide show, a frame that holds the preloader. But the preloader doesn't loads the right images. I load my images from an XML file, and then parse them into an array (something I got from here I believe). That parts seems to work all fine, but when I load the images using a "container.loadMovie(image[i]);" code, it isnt loading anything, except for an error :s
[Code]...
There are some loose ends (like the gotoAndPlay(3) things, but that is because I may wanted to add a thumbnail gallery in frame 3... )
i have 7 buttons inside an MC in a row next each other, when the mouse rollover each of it zooms 20%. Now the problem starts when the button you're hoving over is zoomed, the button next to it cuts into the image. in the order they where inserted I want the button you're zooming over to always display as the top layer - bring to front -.
i read of a code:
btn.swapDepths(1);
to change the depth of the movie clip
and:
trace(btn.getDepth());
to get the initial depth of the button putting it at a higher or lower depth than the other buttons will either place the button behind or in front of the other buttons ...play around with depths untill you figure it out.
I have created a button which contains a movie for each county, when a user rolls over it pops out and displays a list of names. The problem I have is each button is on a layer and when you roll over the bottom button it's hidden below the others. Is there a script to bring each layer to the front automatically? I'm new to flash so if possible could you please explain in layman's terms.
I wanted to get a SWF file (background) stretch to fullscreen while the buttons are static in the front. I found this post: http:[url]..........This is exactly what I wanted but I'm new to flash and maybe need more guidance as to where to put those codes. Are there any other codes that I have to put in the HTML for that effect?
I have six images on a frame as buttons with rollovers making them expand on the button frames. The issue is when the mouse goes over they only expand over the other buttons they are above stackingwise in that layer. I really was hoping to create just a simple bit of code, but it seems that things like containers and children are all needed?[code]The little line of code was my most recent attempt but it pulled up an error about things I have no clue on (1118). Is there a simple code to move the current button on top with out having to say "forget AS3!" and just make a 5 frame webpage a 60 frame one? what is the best format to import videos into a flash project? I went with a swf version, but I was not sure if the mov or other formats would be better.
For my college project I've created buttons were when you roll over images they are enlarged. The problem I have is when I roll over the images, the one next to the one I want shows in front of the image that I'm scrolling over with the mouse. I want it so that the image being rolled over is in front. For example when the magazine article on the far left is enlarged it goes behind the logos next to it instead of in front so you can see clearly what's being scrolled.
am creating a shooting game. my main class in first frame now i want to add the title in front of the game if a adding frame in front make it stop function. the game play runs what can i do?
I have 114 drag movie clips (one on other, overlapping movie) on the same frame. By clicking a button (on the same frame) 7 movie clips (randomize) should be visible and active to drag. Those movies that are in front are active and I can drag them, the other are visible but can not be drawn.[code]...
basically I have all these panels arranged so that when you click on the title they expand to show my work
but they are expanding behind each other, so i'm trying to get some actionscript 3.0 together so that when you click on one of the panels it will be brought to the front and expand so that the others arent visible until you click the button again and it folds back up.
i've attached screenshots. ss2 is what i want to happen and ss3 is what keeps happening.
here's what i have so far...
ActionScript Code: // //function to play pro1 panel
I have several movie clips that zoom in and zoom-out, how do I bring one movie clip to front on mouse over? So the other movie clips remain same size and in the background.
I'm currently working on a flashsite and are trying to figure out rollover menu buttons. The site has 6 menu buttons and are placed next to each other. I want to put a rollover action on the buttons, that when you rollover a button that the whole button image enlarges and moves in front of the other.
I have four buttons and I want to stick a preloader to every button clicked to load an external swf. My swfs and buttons are in array and so is my preloader, but I cant bring my preloader mc to my progress load event! I need to pass the movieclip from a button click event to the load event=)
My code:
ActionScript Code: var path = content.nav; var butts:Array = [path.butt1,path.butt2,path.butt3,path.butt4]; var loaders:Array = [path.buttLoader1, path.buttLoader2]
I Have 3 Movies:MAIN.SWF, contains loading movie actions for Nav.swf and Home.swf.NAV.SWF, contains navagation menu loaded on Level 2 in Main HOME.SWF, contains slideshow for home page loaded on Level 1 in Main In NAV.SWF, there is a MOVIE CLIP "graphmc", which contains a BUTTON "graphicbtn", When this button is clicked, I'd like the HOME.SWF (which is loaded into Main.swf on Level 1) to fade out and unload, and load and fade in Graphics.SWF in place of it.
I made a flash file with buttons that go here and there and everything was fine except it takes a while to load so i added a preloader and suddenly the compiler is throwing the following error:
i created another site, and when i test it it works fine, but when I try to test the preloader, the preloader works, and then it goes to frame 5 and some of the buttons are missing!?
I have a movie clip with 15 frames. Each frame has buttons on it (mc's)... I was going to put the actions on the main timeline/stage and navigate within the MC from the main timeline. Is that possible? I can get the buttons on the first frame of the MC to work, but I can't seem to figure out how to target/make the buttons on the other frames work? I was thinking I could identify the path of the MC with the frame labels, but that doesn't seem to work. like: _root.RMChanger.(frame label).buttonOnFrame = function
I have to move a text box in and out over the MC backgrounds on the main stage... which is why I was thinking to do it this way? I've been switching back and forth bwtween AS2.0 and 3.0
I am creating a navigation bar in Flash (which will then be used in Dreamweaver). When you mouse over each topic in menu (ex. Products), i want it play a movie clip (so it shoots out a sub-menu underneath). so far so good, but the only thing is, the sub-menu won't stay open in order for me to click on buttons in it. For each button, I assigned it the Behavior to go to a url. Also, I tested the buttons within the mc and they don't seem to direct me to url. do you think maybe it's because it's nested within the movie clip?? Is there an easier way to go about this?
I've attached a sound to menu buttons using AS. The sound worked perfectly until I created a external preloader file to load the swf into a container_mc. Now no button sound? If I load the swf without the preloader file the sound works?
Code: Select all//set up sound instance var btnGrpAudio:Sound = new Sound(mcSoundHolder); btnGrpAudio.attachSound("beaming"); btnGrpAudio.setVolume(60); menus[i].btn.onPress = function() { btnGrpAudio.start(); ....
here is my issue, so i have a main page with a slideOut movieclip which basically is a movie clip button and the "over" state sends a tray out of the movie clip with info and anothe rmovie clip button. i cant seem to get that movie clip button to root.gotoAndPlay("frameLabel");i have the actionscript on the same frame as the movie clip i need to act as a button. but it just doesnt seem to react to it.i have tried going to the main timeline and doing
I have an external swf (sub.swf) that loads into my main swf. The external swf has buttons of its own...that I would like to use to load additional external swf's in its place. I click on the buttons and nothings happens.
My current code is as follows:
All of the following code is in my main.swf ================================ //Location where the external SWFs will load var Xpos:Number=18; var Ypos:Number=10;
[Code]...
External swf has no code except for a stop action.
I pieced this current code based on various articles I've found on the net.
I have a movie. In it are some buttons and a dynamic text field. When I press the buttons is should load text from a database into the dynamic text field. If I run the movie by itself (ie. not by LoadMovie()-ing it into a different movie) the dynamic text field gets filled with text and all is well and good. However, when I use LoadMovie() to load this very same movie into my main movie, the buttons no longer work; the text field stays empty.
I want to add a preloader into an existing flash website file. The flash file is made of 5 layers, with one movie clip on each layer for each page of the website pages. I want to be able to put a preloader on the home page to let me viewers know that the site is not fully loaded before they start viewing the other pages (it's a portfolio site, so there are a lot of images). Can I add a preloader movie clip to appear on the home page that will loop until the entire site (all 5 frames/pages) are loaded?
I do not want to add another frame in front of the existing frames because I would have to edit 200+ portfolio frames and script.
I want to use a preloader that was created in Actionscript 2.0 (because I couldn't figure out how to do it in 3.0) - but the splash page and website are in 3.0. Is there a way to segue from the preloader to the splash page? The preloader uses Actionscript to call Scene 2, but I would like it to call an external .swf file if possible. Can anyone tell me how I could do this? -- Or a better way, that does not involve redoing the loader
I just wondered if it is possible to have a preloader for each MC within a movie? I have one simple preloader for the movie:
[Code]...
Now my movie is 60 frames long, the above will only preload the first 30 frames right? So If I have a button that goes to frame 35 on the main timeline and on frame 35 is MC1, can I have a preloder within this MC1 which is 55 frames long? I am just trying to get away from loading seperate swf's into levels!
