ActionScript 2.0 :: Random Keyframe OnMOuseover [FMX]
May 11, 2003
Before I ask let me explain the swf. Basically I have a logo (mc) on the first keyframe. Then I have like four more keyframes each containing a different movieclip with that some logo with different animations. Now what I want to accomplish is. onMouseover I want to randomly jump to any of the keyframes containing the animations. To give the effect of a random animations on the mouseOver event.
i am creating a game now this is complex but i have been told by my fellow actioncript co worker that its doable, What it is i have a game "Reaction Tester" and It is inside a car going along the road so its psudeo 3d and i have the "walls" and road sorted now i want a movie clip in the road to throw out random objects From a Movie clip, now i will call them from frame names, say..
frame 1-10 is a tween with a box coming down and then frame 11-20 is a cat and frame 21-30 is a hole in the road Etc i want it to call a random frame to frame, to play
Basically, i'd like to set up a timeline with say 10 movies. When the page loads, i'd like the flash to randomly select from some predetermined keyframes (obviously where each movie starts) and when that movie ends, jump to another section of the timeline. This way, the loading of the movies is somewhat seamless and it looks like i've made 10 different flash movies.Even if it's not possible to all load from the same timeline, i'd like to have it play the first movie, then when it reaches an ending frame, it loads another random movie from a directory on the server, and then keeps going and going until it can't stand it anymore.
I am creating a web site for a kitchen company, there are differen images as headers on each page. But on one of the pages they want a flash animation to slideshow their kitchens. The animation is done, but they want it to start on a random kitchen. I have only started using actionscript and am struggling a bit, I've managed to find some coding, but they don't seem to work. What I'm looking for is a code to sit in the first frame to randomly select either frame 2, 12, 22 or 32 to go to and play on from there.
I've searched everywhere and I can't find the answer.I've got 10 keyframes with a image on each one. When the user clicks the button i'd like it to go to a random keyframe
I have been trying to get 4 random letter generators to work at the same time as they all load on keyframe 60. However only one will work while the other 3 dont ever show up. I have given an example below if someone could let me know how I would get it to work. I've tried changing the variable 'x' to 'a' but for some reason it still won't work.... i want the result to be 4 random generated buttons that will be used for my menu.
i think i may have a challenge for you. I would like to have a flash movie load to a random keyframe in a timeline when the page loads. Basically, i'd like to set up a timeline with say 10 movies. When the page loads, i'd like the flash to randomly select from some predetermined keyframes (obviously where each movie starts) and when that movie ends, jump to another section of the timeline. This way, the loading of the movies is somewhat seamless and it looks like i've made 10 different flash movies.
Even if it's not possible to all load from the same timeline, i'd like to have it play the first movie, then when it reaches an ending frame, it loads another random movie from a directory on the server, and then keeps going and going until it can't stand it anymore.
I have a simple flash that has 2 layers 2 images. one image is on the first frame and the other image is on the second keyframe. Actionscript starts on 1st keyframe. What I have it doing is loading frame one stop() reads the actionscript checks the date if the date is met it goes and stops on frame 2 and plays other image:
Everytime the flash refreshes it plays frame one then jumps to frame 2 if the date is met. How do I avoid playing frame one if the date is met what it's doing is playing the first image before the date change and a split second after it plays frame 2. (you see a hiccup)
i need the flash to "preload, check the actionscript before it loads if the date is met automataclly go to frame 2 avoiding frame one all together.
actionscript used on frame one:
stop(); var year:Number = 2012; var month:Number = 3; var day:Number = 22;
i'm making a game and to score some extra performance im rendering every frame of every entity into an array of bitmapdata's the first time the frame is seen, and it works well, but its wasting alot of memory because we have alot of animations, and most of them are double framed at least, so more than half of the bitmaps could be ignored if there was a way to determine if a frame is a keyframe or not
When I place some codes in a keyframe, these codes are showing on all the following frames up till the next keyframe with codes. My question is, does Flash execute codes only in the keyframe or it execute whatever is in the frame regardless whether its a keyframe or not?
I understand that when applying html text to a textfield you can have an anchor tag call a specific function. however, is if you can call a function on rollover of the anchor tag?
Example:
Instead of this...
<a href='asfunction:_root.test'>Click here to call the test function</a>
I'd like this...
<a href='' onMouseOver='asfunction:_root.test'>Rollover here to call the test function</a>
I currently have a document set up with a large movie clip (about 2000px wide) and have created 2 buttons - left and right. I would like for when you mouse over the left or right button, the movieclip would slide across the screen horizontally.
What I want to do is:I would like to have a button (I know how to do this), and when the user mousesover the button, I want a movieclip to be activated. So:When user mouses over my home button, my home_ani clip will be accessed. I would want to goto the frame 2 and play of that movie clip.
Basically I have some TLF text as a symbol, it's read only, the font is embedded and I set mouseEnabled to false. It's sitting as a graphic, on top of a button. When I mouse over the text, or the area where the text would be, it prevents the button from receiving the on mouse over event. Using classic, dynamic text, this route normally works just fine. Any ideas what could be causing the problem?
I have movie that has two different images... When the movie is loaded and reach the end, I have large button that onMouseOver effect has new image (smiling girl). The problem is that I want her to smile all the time while the mouse is over animation. That should includes the case when someone trys to type something and finally press small button to submit data. But when mouse cursor is not rolling over she should stop smiling...
The problem is that it's simple to have her smiling in every other case, but when the event as described occurs, she stop simling.. I try several solutions that came up in my head, such as attachMovie, createEmptyClip, different depths, rollOver/out etc, but it seems that I haven't bright idea what i should do i order to get the expected result.
Am I correct in understanding that the onMouseOver event doesn't fire if the mouse button is clicked and held down prior to moving the mouse over the specified object? Would I need to code something using hitTest to see if the mouse is over the specified object regardless of whether the button is down or not?
I'm going to have a row of images all of which will need to enlarge when you mouse over. the images surrounding the enlarged image will need to shirk when it enlarges. So I have multiple images that need to shrink and grow depending one which image is moused over.
i have this code that should get a face (eyes, shape, etc) in motion on Mouse Over. The thing is i dont know how to loop this onMouseOver code so it works like an onEnterFrame handler (while onMouseOver).Another way to put it: as long as the mouse stays over the Mclip i want the code to loop. How can i do this? Here is my code:
My menu(code is by scotty)has 3 movieclip buttons, with text. I broke apart the text to change the color onMouseOver. Problem is the button only works when the mouse is pointed over the actual text, so it doesn't work properly, because the text is obviously very small. I can't put a "field" behind it, because it will become part of the MC, and thus will change color. Here's the example: [URL] File is here: [URL]
I have 2 keyframes on my timeline. The first keyframe has an input text field (instance name: inputTxt) and a button (instance name: btnTester). When the user clicks the button it takes them to the second keyframe where their text should be displayed in a dynamic text box (instance name: txtBox).I get a null value in keyframe 2.
im working on en site that needs a bouncie image, but all the tuts and movie clip i can find only work with onmouseover effect.. i dont want onmouseover but bounce when the clip loads. maybe someone can rearange this script so it bouces on clipload... this in the 1st frame:
I'm needing to make a simple onmouseover popup sort of thing in my flash movie for a bunch of diff menu items.I have the menu setup but I need the mouseover script to create popup info pages like the intro here:URL...
Because the color of the background image in my application is very dark, and the Alpha is very low, when I hover my mouse over a checkbox, the text is scarcely visible. I've scoured the interwebz in vain for what property to set, either at design-time or in the MouseOver event for the checkbox and just can't figure out what property or setStyle property to alter to be able to control the color of the checkbox text when the mouse pointer is hovering over it.
I am currently using Flash CS4. Trying to do a very simple redirect via a password. What I want to do is whatever password they enter (variable defined as code) I want it to direct them to the keyframe. The below works if they enter hi (sometimes it seems to work sometimes not). The password "no" does not seem to work. I have attached simple fla based on the logic I am using.
I've been manually creating a slideshow with flash (I like my final product better than the auto-approaches), and have reached a sort of odd situation. When trying to insert a new keyfram at fram 1675 of my animation, instead of a new keyframe, I'm getting my last keyframe's run (from 1650) extended to here.Is there a per-layer keyframe limit? And is there an FAQ that would cover this (fairly obvious seeming) question, rather than posting?
