I'm creating a list, but want text/movieclip to have a rollover state. In the loop, how do i reference the this["show" + i].mc_show._alpha on a rollover state?

I am creating a loop which loadsimages to newly created loaders. After each loader completes, I'd like to pass it through another function Here's my loop of loaders where loader_names is an array of my loader names and overlay_files is an array of my file URLs

Once each image loads I want to overlay the image on a map here's a loop which does just that, only I do not know how to pass loaders into this function as they finish

As far as I know theres in no way to cahnge the alpha of a dynamic text box. I put one in a movie clip and when i try to change the alpha of it everything else in it changes its alpha but the not the DT box. I have need of loops / nested loops that pick different figures depending on where you are in the loop. The whole function needs to run through 'ml' times. 'ml' is a dynamic figure. Loop 1 = While the loop is within the first 12 iterations, 'exconemp' must equal 100. For iterations 13 - 24, 'exconemp' must equal 102.5, for 25 - 36 it will be 105.06, for 37 - 48 it will be 107.69. This needs to change every 12th iteration until it has reached 'ml'. The calculation takes the value of the previous 'exconemp' and then multiplies that by 0.025.

Loop 2 = While the loop is within the first 120 iterations, 'abc' must equal 0.015 and any further iterations must use 0.01. This must also work in a way to figure out whether 'ml' is higher or lower than 120 and work accordingly. My main issue is this - how do I get the loops to run through as this: While the iteration is < 12, do this, THEN take the final figure (12th iteration) and start on 13 - 24, do this THEN etc etc. How do I produce a THEN statement? I can get the code to pick up the final values, but not change along the way.

basically i was trying to make a program execute on the web, but it needs to load in pictures and since i didnt want to make the file size massive i converted where the images would show into a movie clip and used the loadMovie(pathname) procedure (im using AS2) to link the files, it works obviously when i test run it. in the pathname section i have "images/pic1.jpg" and so on for the different pictures as a tutorial i followed lead me to believe that it would find the pathname the program is running from and add the suffix images/pic.... etc to find the picture.

the problem is when i run it on the web its still trying to find the files on my computer, even though there is no part of the code that tells it to look in my documents/folders etc. even when i tried to link the file exactly, so put in oadMovieMy question is why is it still trying to find my local document folders instead of looking at its own run source on the internet. is there a way of absolutely linking it to the images i have now on the internet instead?

How do you reference and already existing object in as3? My below program draws 2 circles and a line to connect the two. The circles and the line are all individual objects. The line (connector class) has a function called update that should redraw the line between the two circles. It has two variables which I want to be the references to the two circles. The circles (coolcircle class) has a variable which I want to be the reference to the connector. It doesn't seem like my update() function is getting called.
