Actionscript 3 :: Div(X,Y) Function In C Which Returns The Number Of Times?

Nov 10, 2011

I'm talking about the div(X,Y) function in C which returns the number of times X is reduced by Y. if you're confused, I'm talking about this:

div(30,5) returns 6 (30 is reduced 6 times by 5)

div(34,7) returns 4 (you can reduce 30 by 7 four times, leaving 6 behind)

Is there such a function?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Repeat Main Timeline 3 Times, More?

Aug 20, 2010

I'm stumped on getting my coding movie consisting only of tweens to just play 3 times and stop on last frame. I'd also like it to delay and stay on last frame about 10 seconds and/or delay before playing the first frame about 2 seconds. that stuff i do now with timer events- I set both for the interval (100000 and 2000) and repeat  is set to one for each, with a timer on the last and first frames. (not sure if that's the best way to do that)

Note the red code, I need to repeat this an unknown amount yet multiple times but with the number on the end of enemy incremented by 1 each time. It starts with 0 as you can see the code just above the red. I heard about for loops using 'i' but im unsure about how to use it.

edit: ah, this forum isnt letting me highlight red. Everything in this editor is also failing. well, when I say code in red i mean this code:

if (enemy1.hitTest(this)) {
enemy1.speed = 0;
} else {
enemy1.speed = 1;

ActionScript 2.0 :: Find A Function That Will Repeat Rotational Tween Function

Aug 8, 2007

I'm trying to find a function that will repeat my Rotational tween function. I found the yoyo() function to be what i want to do but i don't want the tween to change the rotation to CCW while originally moving CW. Basically i want the animation to move CW at a steady rate continuously.

I'm using the following code at the moment, i'm not too sure if this is the most suitable code for this situation, maybe im off track.

From my thoughts, i assumed that i would need to put the stars function in a onEnterFrame to repeat the animation and change yoyo() to continueTo() function. or maybe some sort of if statement in the stars function?

ActionScript Code:
import mx.transitions.Tween;
import mx.transitions.easing.*;
var stars:Tween = new Tween(ring, "_rotation", Regular.easeInOut, 0, 360, 4, true);

Limit To Number Of Times Assign EventListeners?

Sep 6, 2010

I've got a presentation that continually reads an XML and displays content based on that. It works fine for 2-3 hours then just stops. No errors, just stops.

What I'm doing is adding and removing eventListeners throughout the process using two alternative loader objects.

For example:

PHP Code:

slideLoader1.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,loadJPG, false, 0, true );

I started using the "weak" listener based on what I've been reading about garbage collection, but actually this works better:

PHP Code:

slideLoader1.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,loadJPG);

The presentation runs much longer with the second listener type. In both cases I'm removing it this way:

PHP Code:

slideLoader1.contentLoaderInfo.removeEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,loadJPG);

Is there a problem constantly adding/removing eventListeners this way?

ActionScript 1/2 :: Repeat Function After X Seconds?

Nov 21, 2010

I just wonder if I could make the object "car" to repeat doing this:

function start_car(){
_root.car.onEnterFrame = function(){
_root.car._y +=15;
};
};
setTimeout(start_car, 1000);

I want it to begin at y=0 and x=0 after like 7 seconds and then repeat going down the y axis as you can see in the code.

So the car movieclip starts moving slowly from the top going down then  after like 7 seconds when it's out of the scene it begins at e.g x=0 y=0  and going down for 7 seconds then starts at x=0 y=0.... etc, so it  keeps looping.

I was taking this tutorial, >>LINK<< I want to change it from,

That way once it load's it will duplicate the circle MC a random number of times. This circle MC is inside of another MC so it wouldnt be _root i want it to goto, it would be t_mc that I want it to look for it in.

So in the t_mc MC I put this code,
Code:
onClipEvent (load) {
i = i + 1;
duplicateMovieClip (t_mc.circle, "circle" + i, i);
}

And on the circle, I put this code,
Code:

this._x = random(250);
this._y = random(150);

ActionScript 2.0 :: Call A Function To Repeat Over A Few Different Frames?

I would like to be able to call a function from a movie clip so that the function repeats itself over a few different frames without having to be called again. I could have the function call itself according to an "if" statement but I believe that the movie will not go the next frame until it finishes all the cycles. So for example: The function makes the movieclip move over a few pixels but I want it to move over a bunch of pixels so as to give the illusion that it is moving slowly, I To do that the function needs to repeat until the movieclip moves the entire distance, but if that happens all within the function, at least as far as I have been able to figure out,
