ActionScript 2.0 :: Set The X Coordinate For The Clip But The Motion?

I have added 20 movieclips to x and y coordinates inside my stage. Some of them are outside the flash bounds.I want to have buttons that simulates next and previous. How can I make the clips move in a motion? I can set the x coordinate for the clip but the motion is to fast.

need to have a movie text containing a dynamically loaded single line text box to move back and forth like a ticker tape. The text box will change content depending which button is pressed, so the length will always change. The effect is something like in the winamp display screen where the text scrolls back and forth depending on the length of the file name.I can get everything to scroll one way or another but I can't seem to get it to switch directions when it reaches a certain _X position. I've used if statements to set a variable when the _x position reaches a certain point, nested loops, everything I can think of.These are two versions of the loops I've used to move the clip. I've tried this in a clipEvent and as a function.

I have a blank flash movie which has a circle drawn in the middle I then have a movie clip symbol called "star", it is basically a line drawing of a star Within the main movie, I have the "star" snapped to the circle so that I can make a "motion tween" to rotate the star around the circle. What I want to do, is make the "star" rotate around the circle but only doing it when the mouse cursor is being moved around the circle. So the "star" is following the mouse cursor, but the star should remain clipped to the curcle.

When I click it I want a full screen menu system to come in from the right hand side and stay in place until another button is clicked.I have all the parts built, but I don't know how to use buttons properly. Movie Clip Graphic Distort When Motion-tweened

In flash cs4, i've created motion tweens on 4 separate layers with 4 different movie clip symbols that were created with the pen tool. it seems to be fine when i scrub the playhead, but when i test the movie, 2 of the movie clip graphics distort, and the bottom halves of them move faster than the top halves.

I need to move a movie clip with action script. I am writing action script to one of the layers and calling my movie clip "bird". I want to move the clip in a wave motion(like a sine wave). I am using the bird._x and bird._y and setting them equal to a variable. But the _y part of it is not moving. The movie clip is only moving from right to left and there is no upward or downward movement.

I have 10 objects in 10 layers to make a single logo. I have created them using flash drawing objects. Now I would like each object to come one by one on stage using motion tween. How can I go further? Do I need to make each object a movie clip before set it motion tween? Or do I need to make a single movie with all 10 objects as combined? Please note that I need each object to come on stage one by one (not a whole logo on once). Please provide help or any example tutorial link.

I've been going over several tutorials and whatnot and I'm confused on the point of movie clip symbols and motion tweens. To me using the other tweens and symbols are "easier". Can someone explain to me why they're so beneficial to have been added to CS4/CS5? Except I understand that movie clip symbols can be adjusted using the 3D tools but is that the only difference?

I'm having a problem getting a movie clip to Motion Tween from a positive value to a negative value. I have two movie/buttons on my stage. When you click one the other movie Tweens from a y value of 0 to a y value of 400. That works fine. However, when you click the other button, the movie clip should then Tween from a y value of 400 back to a y value of 0. I cannot get this reverse tween to work.

The second tween never reverses. It just stays in place.

I've also tried the same tweens using the y value of pageloaderB... so tweening from pageloaderB.y to pageloaderB.y+400, which works, but the reverse does not -- pageloaderB.y+400 to pageloaderB.y.

why the reverse tween is not functioning?

I am trying to get a movie clip to pause when the cursor rolls over it, and then make a darkened out area visible and have some text appear. I have succeed in doing so, but it looks funny. I have been searching far and wide for a solution on how to offer slow motion and fast motion options for users that upload video to my webstie. There is an implementation on Google Video that has exactly what I am looking for: the option to speed up or slow down the video and continue to play the audio. The screenshot is below. I know that Flowplayer has an option to slow down or speed up video when implemented with Wowza server. However, when using that approach, there is no sound.

I have also seen the option from Enounce called MySpeed that allows video to be slowed or quickened, but this requires a browser plugin which is too much of a barrier for our users. How does Google do it? How can you add an option to a flash player to slow down or speed up video?Here is a screen shot. You can see the option to change the speed of the video to 1.5x. It also has options to go to 0.5x, 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x, 2.0x, 2.5x, and 3.0x.

I would like to create a polygon that changes its shape (circle, trapezium, square, rectangle, triangle) based on specific buttons that the user clicks? An existing shape has to be able to morph into all the others. For instance, the trapezium has to morph to a square, circle, rectangle or triangle.

If I were to create each transition manually, I would end up with 5x4=20 scenes. Is there a way that I can just assign each shape to its own frame, and deploy actionscript to set in motion the transitions from one frame to the 4 other possible frames? I am very grateful to anyone to just point me in the right direction,

im writing AS3 under linux and as such do not have access to ANY of the fl.* packages, including tweens, motions, special animations and components. I can only use Math.* and XY Grid Coordinates to calculate motion manually.

I can make movement of sprites fairly easily on a coordinate system, but this restricts how the path can go. Usualy only an up,down,left,right movements for the simplest math. I suppose this could be expanded to move in more varied directions but its not quite what im looking for.

I would like to be able to draw an invisible line that a shape can follow. Then it can have curves or bends in it without problem. I want to then start the sprite at the 1st pixel of the line and set its next coorinate based on where the line is at, but at 10px down it (and so on) till it reaches the end of the line. Is it possible because I cant think of a way? Are there any other good PureAs3 motion tutorials around?

I'm getting the following error: Motion tweening will not occur on layers with ungrouped shapes or on layers with more than one group or symbol. I don't have any ungrouped shapes (it's all text), each layer has 5 instances of only one symbol (keyframes), no objects are grouped and text is all static text.

When watching the animation, the first word (web) looks fine, on the second word (design) the tween fails on the last couple of frames of that clip (the blur filter disappears), the third word (and) is OK, and on the forth word (development) the blur filter is not applied to the last 16 frames of that clip.I broke each animation into its own MC thinking that was causing the issue, but that didn't fix anything.

i have a mapMC on the stage and 6 buttons. i need to be able to make the buttons move the mapMC to specified coordinates. the coordinates are set and will never change. i also need an easing from one location to the next. i guess i'll go ahead and throw in a bonus question for any of you aces out there. lets say location "A" is at x=200, y=400. i would like the mapMC to get there and scale 120%. so a button that gets pressed will go to its coordinates and scale acordingly. i can see that this could be script heavy, but for some reason not too difficult.

If u change setProperty(auto, _x, kord ) to setProperty(auto, _x, x2 ) , it works, but as u can see only with one coordinate.
