ActionScript 2.0 :: Target Dynamically Loaded Movieclips For Rollover?

I have a script that loads images and text from an XML file into movieclips.The following code is what creates the movieclips that contain the elements:

I can't seem to find a way to target the thumb_mc or the img_mc so they have rollover effects and actions (they are created for each set in the xml file, so there are multiple mc's)mc_conteudo is the content mc that scrolls.The swf is here: http:[url].....
I'm having trouble adding a cuepoint listener to a dynamically loaded .flv which targets a dynamically loaded .swf. I'm also adding cuepoints via actionscript.
Basically everything loads okay but I get a compile error in the the function cuePointHandler when referencing mc_slideLoader.
Scene 1, Layer 'Actions', Frame 1, Line 601061: Call to a possibly undefined method gotoAndPlay through a reference with static type flash.display:Loader.
I'm still a rookie with AS3 so I'm thinking the Loader class doesn't have a gotoAndPlay property and some how I have to get it to act like a MovieClip?

Basically what I'm trying to do is build an interface out of a fan of cards. I've got the the whole fan as a movieclip and then individual movieclips of the cards inside that have rollover animations.My issue is the rollover works on the cards arranged behind the cards that have the cursor over, which I don't want to happen.e.g see attachment.here's the rollover actionscript i've got on each card:

I have three movieclips (used as buttons) on my main MC. The following code swaps the depth of a dynamically loaded image the when I rollOver each movieclip (button). I want to put the button.rollOver code in a for loop so I dont have to repeat this code for every image loaded.
I am using attachMovie in a for(var i=1; i<50; i++) loop.Everything loads fine, but I am having difficulty referencing the dynamically created instance names.I don't want to reference individually ie movieclip1, movieclip2 etc.but more by movieclip[i].Basically - if movieclip instance 1 is rolled over I want to display image 1, and so on?
I have a flash project where different movie clips are loaded dynamically according to the data retrieved from an XML file. And they are positioned one after the other as if they were in a menu. Inside those movieclips there is a button that when it's triggered unloads the movieclip so it disappears from the menu/list. Apart from that, I would like the rest of the attached movie clips to tween and move upwards, so the list keeps its form. I'm finding quite difficult figuring out this function. I'm copying the code I'm using :
I've created a drop down list and populated it with dynamic buttons. (I made a DropDown_btn class with a dynamic text field in it and then filled the button text from an xml file). On rollover I tint the button blue and then set the tint back to black on rollout. When you click on the button I'd like it to stay blue until a different button is clicked.
...and then I need to addEventListeners back to any button that doesn't have them and set that button back to black. I could do this by looping through an array of the buttons but I can't figure out how to access them as objects.
I also gave them each a property of "buttonValue" when I loaded them so I can access event.currentTarget.buttonValue (which in this case is a number from 1-5) but once again I can't figure out how I might leverage this information.
I'm trying to place 5 instances of a horizontal line (mcLine) starting at 78% from the top of the Stage. This all works fine, but I want to be able to have these dynamically created MovieClip instances register mouse events and they don't.First the setup of the mcLine instances:

If I place instances of the mcLine MovieClip on the stage and name them line_1, line_2, etc., the function LineVibrate works, but when I try to add the instances at run time as above, the LineVibrate function stops working.
Just started using MX and learning ActionScript. How to make a button rollover/rollout target another movieclip using AS. (Before I was just putting an instance of my _mc on the OVER frame of the button. The problem is, whe I went to the AS menu, I couldn't find tellTarget anywhere. Later I found out its depreciated since v.5. What can I use in MX to substitute for this wonderful function???
I m trying to make sense of how to load a swf into a parent MovieClip and allow them to communicate.I ve attached two zip files � one which works fine and the other doesn�t. Unfortunately (for me), the one which doesn�t work is closer to my current project.I need to load movieclips into the parent movieclip. The parent movieclip has controls which rely on values parsed from the child movieclip.In the parent movieclips I wait until the loading is complete and so the values should be passed. However, the values aren�t passed unless I use a button (or timer), to pass the values (see the working exampes).The code which doesn�t work is:

i basically have some images of logs (for a bridge) setup inside a movieclip called log_mc, inside log_mc each log has its own movieclip log1_mc, log2_mc and so on
I think this solution should be simple but I think I am missing something about using event.target.name.I have multiple (over 30) MovieClip images on stage with alpha of zero and I would like to have them fade in on MouseEvent.CLICK while removing the current image showing. While I can code it to work for a single image I want to use this.target.name to have more efficient code.
i have an array called movieList that's made up of nine movieclips ("one_mc" for example). when something happens in my timeline, i want to send each of the movieclips to their fifth frame. i tried the following code and it didn't work:
in a actionscript file, is there anyway to have different codes target different movieclips? For example, if i want one movieclip to tint to red and another to tint to blue, can I do that in the same actionscript file or do I need to do that in separate actionscript file?
I have a bunch of movie clips in my main timeline with at least 2 nested clips inside them, MyMc.nested1.nested2 etc. I have given the top most movie clips that sit on the main timeline instance names. In a document class I created a private variable typed as an array and placed all those MC names in that array. I then looped through the length of the array and assigned 2 event listeners to each instance. Example:

in the event pickup() is were my trouble seems to come in.In the pickup function I have the following:

This seems to work, but only on the lowest nested Movie clip......nested2I can use event.target.parent.parent.startDrag() and that seems to work.... Except when I place another movieclip in the second layer of the of the MyMC , if that is accidently clicked, it will now drag the Stage.I attempted to use the event.target.mouseChildren = false but that only seems to work on the lowest nested object... nested2 as that seems to be the one I am clickingIs there something I am missing to say, click only the top level mc then ignore all nested mc?
I have been working with AS2 for a long time, but are a total newbie when it comes to AS3.On my stage I have placed an empty MC with instance name "holder".In my library I got a MC linked by the name "sektor".
"sektor" has several movieclips and buttons with instance name, e.g. "corner1", "corner2", "corner3"....
I have nested "sektor" inside "holder" by writing this code:

What I want to achieve is to control those movieclips inside "sektor" by turning dem on/off.I have tried to do this with this code:
Code: holder.sektor1.corner1.visible = false; but I keep on getting this error: "TypeError: Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties."
I have figured out that by tracing holder, I know it�s excisting (Result: [object MovieClip]) but if I try to trace holder.sektor1, I got the result "undefined". So it seems like "sektor1" is not excisting. Why?
I've made a loop that is creating 9x movieClips that is loading external images and I have also added eventListeners to those movieClips to make it possible to change the movieclips image. My problem is that i can't access the target of the "first eventListener". Here is the code to browse for the new image, i want to access the movieclip of this function in a later eventListener, like this: event.CurrentTarget

The third and last function, this function is called when the image is loaded and is ready to be used. If if put this code, it will target the second function's event. Code: event.target.addChild(loader); I am searching for a code looking like this to replace the old image with the new one Code: event.target.target.addChild(loader);
So I have this code to create and load an external swf. I am trying to write a simple function to target the mc within the loaded swf. Once clicked I want it to load a new swf inside the same mc (container_mc). I'm having trouble even targeting that button though. Any thoughts?
I've worked out a way to get the proper instance name in stored in a variable (called listName), and I've got a SOUND_COMPLETE listener applied to my sound channel. What I need to happen is, when the function called by the SOUND_COMPLETE event fires, the object on the stage with the instance name that matches the string currently stored is affected.[code]...
I attached some movieclips dynamically from the library, and the MC contains a button symbol called "myBtn", I would like to let it load another swf on _level3...below is part of my Actionscript.
I have two movie clips physically overlapping, one nested inside the other: green green.blue An onRollOver function is included in each movie clip. I can get the onRollOver function to execute for the parent clip (green), but cannot get the function within the nested clip (blue) to work. I have a preloader that is being served from a CDN, and I want it to load the target SWF also from the CDN but when it uses loaderInfo, it returns the hostname of the html file.[code]Is there some way that I can get the URL that the preloader was served from which is the CDN?
