However, I need to protect them in several ways... customers should not be able to download and play them anywhere off my site, or on their hard drives, and they should not be able to decompile them and grab the contents (jpegs).I realize that a first rate hacker can probably hack through anything, but they don't worry me. I was asked to edit a completed website. I was given the .swf file. I decompiled it using SoThink and converted it to a flash file. When I opened it in Adobe Flash CS4, only the intro portion is viewable in the timeline.
When I test the movie the entire website plays out with no problems. But the timeline only shows the intro/home page. I need to edit other content in the scene.
I'm working on important project using Flex framework and i want to keep my algorithms and code secret. Is it possible to somehow protect swf file from being decompiled? I don't want someone extract my code using flash decompilers.
I have been building an application using CS4. I currently load the swf file into a byte array of another swf to prevent easy access, but I have been told that this will not keep out more experienced users. How can I improve on my current method to best protect my code from being stolen?
My company emails our Flash EXE files out to customers. Most of these Flash files use keyboard events to navigate through them, and they load external SWF and video files. So, obviously, I have to package all of my movie files, SWF, and the main EXE into the same folder. In the past, they have simply Zipped the file, emailed it out, and told them which file to open. Sadly, even this is too complicated for some people. I need to simplify the process.
I am trying to find a way to take the entire folder and bundle it into a single EXE file. Also, I need to find a permanent solution for opening the main Flash EXE file in a MAXIMIZED window. I don't mean fullscreen. I mean MAXIMIZED. In fullscreen, keyboard events don't work. But, they do in a Maximized window.

When I copied the actionscript file into a new flash file the new file size is decreasing when compared with the original flash file.

I made a .as Class where some graphical elements are spawned into the stage. However, the Flash (.fla) have some internal graphics that are supposed to be over the graphical elements spawned from the custom class.I tried to make another layer over the layer where the as3 Class is being called, but unfortunately it doesn't do anything, the graphic from the .as still appearing over the internal .fla graphics.
What I would like to do is add a scroll bar on the far right hand side, and be able to add more of the items with images.(there are 5 at the moment, would need more than 5)
I am using a Dewslider flash player to load flash animations on a webpage, but am getting the hand cursor appearing on the movie, while it should have been the normal mouse arrow.In reading some tutorials I tried using an empty flash movie to load the initial Dewslider but still having the hand cursor but now when reloading the page after visiting another page.
How would you go about turning off the hand cursor of a button when a movieclip is set at alpha 0 and then turning the same hand cursor on when alpha is set at 100?

I've come to a really strange bug in Flash: There is a swf called Nav.swf which contains on its stage a movieclip "som" which has its own class Som.as.There's an animation on Nav.swf, and when it ends it will call the method StartPlayer() on Som.as.If I run setupButtons() in the init() function, it works fine, I am able to click the button "btPlayPause" and it will trace what's in the function clickPlayPause();
THE PROBLEM: If I leave it as it is on the example below (the setupButtons() function is only called by the startPlayer() method, which is called from Nav.swf a while later after Som is instantiated) it will trace what's in both functions startPlayer() and setupButtons() BUT the button "btPlayPause" won't work! It dosn't get the buttonMode property set to true (cursor does not change to the little hand) and when I click on it it does not run clickPlayPause(), it doesn't trace anything!
The same happens if I call directly the setupButtons() function from the nav.swf. It will trace what's in setupButtons() but the movieclip won't listen to the MouseEvent.I cleaned up the code only to show what matters:
