I was asked to edit a completed website. I was given the .swf file. I decompiled it using SoThink and converted it to a flash file. When I opened it in Adobe Flash CS4, only the intro portion is viewable in the timeline.
When I test the movie the entire website plays out with no problems. But the timeline only shows the intro/home page. I need to edit other content in the scene.
I have a movie clip that I imported into flash, used a skin and have a nice little player for this website intro. I want to proceed to the sites home page upon completion of the movie. Searched but the best I could come up with was;

I'm working on important project using Flex framework and i want to keep my algorithms and code secret. Is it possible to somehow protect swf file from being decompiled? I don't want someone extract my code using flash decompilers.

this way we are responsible for murdering such a good programming language...
Please do not use decompiled elements as first hand deliverables to your customers.
Decompilers often create bugs hat even the flash compiler cannot identify.
I have list populated with different data from PHP and when pressed it opens a URL, but when I return to the list from the browser, it has the selection I made to go to browser still selected. So how do I reset the selection? By the way, its a flex mobile app.

View 2 RepliesI have a project set up as scenes.In scene 1 there are two buttons visible from the frame 1licking on these takes us to scene 3 or 4. They work fine. I used code snippet "Click to Go to Scene and Play" the action script is on a keyframe on frame 1 as that is the first frame the buttons appear.From frame 120 a third button appears. So on this frame I have actionscript go to and play scene 5.Problem is it goes to scene 3 instead, like the firstbutton. The buttons are not near each other on screen so its not a case of accidentally clicking wrong button.I think maybe I should've set up my project as movie clips within 1 timeline but I'm too far down the scene route now to change it at this stage.the buttons are all invisible so maybe the third button should also be present from frame 1 and just disabled until frame 120?

That part works fine, but it always loads the page into a new window. How do I make it load into the same window? I could do this in AS2 with getURL and using _self. Here is what I have:

I run an external script from flash(as3) that opens up an Jquerry thickbox with php tabel (it gets results from mysql db). But when i include some other css for centering my .swf in the middle(both x/y), my jquerry buttons in flash stop working.this is the css code:

I have an HTML page with buttons. Each button needs to have a getURL to open the Flash site, but then somehow, needs to also load the appropriate swf into that Flash site... My reasoning is because I have some scripts under my site that need to be in HTML (or PHP) for search engines, that way I don't have to do the whole site in HTML.. I hate having a HTML index page, but it's the only solution I could come up with. So, when a visitor selects any of the navigation buttons, I don't want them to have to select that button again, when the Flash site loads. how to do this for Flash 7 / AS 2.0? Or if there are any posts here about it?

It's up and working fine, but it flashes a white blank map for about 2 seconds when it first loads and then it goes away. It looks very ugly on a black background and gives off a sense of "cheapness". Anyway, it has got to go. I purchased the world map and they don't offer access to the original .fla file. So basically I want to know how to cover up the first few seconds of the video with black and then have the black cover disappear and let the flash file do its thing.

View 3 RepliesI've created a flash intro for a website and I have it setup so that in the first frame of the intro it opens a popup window, and then in the last frame it opens the actual site in the same window as the intro. Right now when it hits the last frame it opens up the popup window again also! Ack! I'm guessing that it has something to do with re-using the same variable name. I tried changing the code in different ways on the second window opening but still had the same result, or broke it opening up any pages at all. I've also tried moving the two code snippets to different layers. Anybody can tell me how to do this? after the intro in flashcs4 go directly to a website. I made an intro in flash and after the end of the clip need go to a html doc. I've to use ActionScript right?

If i try to make a keyframe there i get a message and it cuts the end of the video at the point and starts it over a second clip in that same timeline. I have tried creating a tween from it then putting in the script, i have also tried this with a classic tween.
I am trying to do something I thought would be very simple. It has turned into a much more difficult exercise. I simply want to use this flash movie at Code:[URL] as an index page of site. When the movie has ran, I want to pause for 3 or 4 seconds and then go to the next page of web site (in other words, go to a specific URL).
