The concept is that while the music video is taking place the user can decorate the hair of the woman with any of the objects they select. There will be predetermined animations and destination spots but the user can choose whatever objects they select to be delivered to the predetermined spot. I need to figure out how to let the user to select an object that will become part of the animation. I created a PDF Roughly explaining what I am trying to do. If anyone can help me I'd be very grateful as I am more versed in After Effects, I don't know ActionScript well enough to execute what I am trying to do.
Below is a rough example of what I am trying to do. There will be a music video of an animated woman singing. As she is singing the user will be able to click any of the objects , below the numbers 1-10. Below it is illustrated that the user wants to press the blue number 2. If the user presses the 2 the 2 will animate in the mouth of a bird to a predetermined pre-animated spot. I assume I need to send a movieclip to a blank holder on the timeline and use a gotoAndPlay() action ???

In the library there are four .swf movie files and I don't think they were made in the adobe flash software as they would have taken all day to do. Is there a program out there that can quickly make cool text effects with a transparent background and then be able to import the finished txt effect into adobe flash and use in the fla file?

I'm working with FL but I've tried PS and IL and everytime it ends up looking like an 8 bit graphic. It happens with all the preset effects. The laptop I'm using has a 4 gigs of RAM and a core duo with a 512 MB graphics card How can I set my software to produce the highest quality effects?

Basically I store data such as time of the note, note duration, pitch, scale, volume, etc.I have 2 questions:How can I export all these data in order to use it in after effects (as a txt file? other formats?);How do I use the exported file in After Effects later on: How do I tell After Effects when to start playing a note in a specific time? how do I associate note height with a specific feature (lets say - square width) - and so on.I DO know some basic coding in after effect (how to associate elements inside After - such as volume and opacity) but I need to understand how to deal with an exported file (and in which format to generate it).

i am a beginner user of flash & i think i have mentioned this in my earlier post here few days back , i have just made a little dynamic text field and loading some html text and images into it via xml CDATA node. everything is working fine i just wanted to put some animation effects on my text field while loading it through xml ...i added some motion tween in the beginning which actually moves whole text field from out side of canvas to inside at its original place with ease out . its looking fine to me but i noticed that dynamic text loads a bit late and during tweening i just see empty text field .so i was wondering how to put some simple effects on loading dynamic text

I'm applying a simple alpha fade to the onEnterFrame event of a movie clip using AS, and inside that movie clip there is a dynamic text box that gets its content from an XML file. The fade works fine on everything except the text - the whole movie clip fades in, but the text just instantly "jumps into existence".
View 1 Repliesi need to write AS 2.0 code for creating text effects like those we have in ms word clipart.. i dont need it to be all that complex though. what i need is to make the text pinched.. so that if there's a word, the ends of the word are more in height but in the middle, its slim then i need to make the text seem bloated.. which is exactly the opposite of pinched. then i also need the word to appear wavy.. as if the word is riding on a wave ya know.. then, i need the word to slant backwards and forwards i also need it to have a dropshadow but i found stuff by senocular on it. so i guess i'll manage that by the filters and all.

I added the code in red to load a picture since I intend to use the parameter for a name of a jpg file to be loaded.It actually works BUT the image just flashes on screen for a second, how do I fix that?I'd also like for the "image_loader" to load inside a container with certain size constraints. I found code that does the resize but I don't know how to make the bridge between the image_loader, a possible movieclip container and the resize function as I might use the loaded image in more then one place of different sizes. If I atleast pull it off with 1 I'll just use more swf's to pull off the effect if its otherwise too complicated.

View 2 RepliesI got a complete package of creative suite cs4. Even though I didnot want to install additional components such as Adobe Bridge, Adobe Drive, etc. They got installed with the package. Now I have CS5 available, and I don't want these to keep occupy the disk space, atleast not CS4.
How can I uninstall these components, I don't really use them too. I looked into my Control Panel, but there is no option to uninstall them. I am using Windows 7.

I'm developing a Silverlight4 drop-in replacement for an existing Flash client. I would like to maintain compatibility with the existing Flash HTML bridge javascript functions, but I can't figure out how to expose the javascript interface directly on the Silverlight client object instead of a contained object.
In Flash, it is possible to call Bar() directly on the client object, as in:

flashClient.Bar();
But in Silverlight, I haven't found a means to call an interface directly on the Silverlight object. Instead, it appears interfaces can only be exposed on contained objects, as in:

View 2 RepliesI'm involved in writing a Flex/ActionScript library and in the future I will be involved in writing the same library in JavaScript. Rather than writing a library in each language and having to maintain them separately I was wondering if it was possible to:
1) Write the code in one language and share the code into the other e.g. Write the code in JavaScript and use the same .js files in ActionScript
2) Write the code in one language and perform a conversion into the other
I know it's possible to communicate between Flash/ActionScript and JavaScript but I'd like to avoid the overheads in using the technology bridge so this isn't really an option.
How do other people deal with writing and maintaining libraries that do exactly the same thing but in different languages? Specifically how do people do this between JavaScript and ActionScript?

how to import a photo gallery created from Bridge to a FLA flash site? I've been searching through forums and can't seem to come up with an answer. When exported you get an index.html file and a resources folder with all the source files. Inside your sources file you have a few SWFs, XMLs, and Javascript files. I have already tried all three SWFs hoping they would just import but no luck, they are just swf preloaders and such. Attached is a screenshot of the resources folder

View 1 RepliesMy flex project uses FA-Bridge, and apparently in Safari browser I cannot call any of my public AS functions that have arguments passed in. For example I can call this AS function from javascript:

In the above call safari throws an error # 1063, (i.e. Argument count mismatch) in the safari javascript console, and points to line 561 in FaBridge.js. It thinks I didn't pass in the requied parameters. Now the above issue exists only on Safari. Both of the above approaches work on IE, Firefox and Chrome browsers. Note: I am NOT using swfObject for embedding my swf.
Is it easy to implement Flex Ajax Bridge with ColdFusion? Where can I learn how to use it? My frontend is pure HTML+JS and I just need the push capability. I thought of using Websocket Event Gateway and Server Sent Event (aka EventSource) but seems like they don't have much browser support quite yet. if it would be linear on the time line its obviously just a matter of motion tweens and alpha values.. .but how to do it if one wants to jump say from section 6 to 1 and have background 6 blend with background 1 ?
