ActionScript 3.0 :: Can't Display A Selected Category Of Thumbnail XML
Nov 16, 2010
I'm having issue to display from a selected thumbnail a bunch of images by their category which I loaded from a xml file. I don't have any issues to parse them.[code]...
I have xml data that I can load into my flex app; however, I need to sort it by node.I'm trying to create a combobox or listbox that can display a list of locations sorting them either alphabetically or by the category they are in...
I can't get my head around how to format the xml or how to code the flash file to sort according to location name alphabetically and then press a button that will sort it by category 1st and second by name alphabetically.
I'm learning actionscript and would like to add a sound to the code below when a thumbnail is selected. The code is from Adobe Flash CS4Classroom in a book. The flash settings are AS 3.0 and Media Player 9.0
ActionScript Code: // thumbnails_tl.addEventListener(Event.CHANGE, thumbnailClicked); function thumbnailClicked(event:Event):void {
1) I bought a photo gallery that works well, but when I use it in a project I'm working on, the thumbnail images don't display, but everything else does including XML loaded text so I'm pretty sure it has to do with the actionscript and the level it's targeting.
2) I also can't figure out how to shrink the size of the full view photo which seems to also be loaded somehow with action script to a blank MC, but it may not be in the script below... there's a lot of script here that I don't understand.
I am trying to display the title of the thumbnail image, which is being loaded from the XML file. If i trace the title then it is printed, but it is not displayed in the TextField.
Below is the code, i used so far.
Code: var Current_page:Number; var Total_pages:Number; var Detail_mc:Array = new Array();
I have a MC filled with button thumbnail images. I am trying to tell the thumbnail to display the corresponding fullsize image. the script I have for the first button is
on (release) { picts.gotoAndStop(2); }
Picts is the name of the MC containing full size images. There is no response to the button.
i am building a digital portfolio and i have managed to get the thumbnails on a horizontal scrollbar but i want to be able to click on one to load the full image. I dont know where to start though. The code i have so far is:
How would I go about editing the code for this tutorial: http:[url]......so that there are 8 thumbnails displayed at a time and instead of scrolling based on mouse position, the user clicks a next or previous button to display the next set of 8 thumbnails in the xml?I attempted to get it to display the thumbnails vertically by changing some x values in y and a width variable into height, but that failed miserably.This site is an example of what I am trying to accomplish: http:[url]....
I have a datagrid that loads content from a database. Once the data has been loaded I have a function that has selectedIndex=0; Right after that I call another function that tries to display the selected item across a couple of labels. The problem is nothing loads in the labels unless I run the functions twice. I'm guessing its some sort of data race problem where the item hasn't been selected by the time the function that displays the items in labels runs. How can I get the item to be selected before the next function runs.
i downloaded sickworks datechooser AS3, i can change the display properties using flash code , i need to display the date in textbox when i click the date from datechooser in AS3
The only thing that has me puzzled is the preview field. Basically i have a background which is a movie clip, it basically transforms from the loader to the background (over 70 frames).
is there a way to have the preview field for the root movie display a child movie at a frame other than frame 1? At the moment it looks like this: [URL]
But i'm wanting it to look like this: [URL]
It would help or positioning other items if i had the background displayed how it will actually be?
bit stuck on something here and hoping that someone will be able to answer this question. i have a gallery generated via xml - i have three text fields on the stage that display the title and description of the thumbnail item.
[Code]...
not quite sure of the best/easiest way is to do it - call from the library and attach to mouse or something along those lines?
I have made a image-viewer. I've this AS for the viewer:
Code: import mx.transitions.Tween; import mx.transitions.easing.*; function loadXML(loaded) {[code].....
Now i would like to make a loop for the thumbnails so they don't have a beginning or end(Now when i scroll to the right the thumbnails stop at the last thumbnail, i want it to begin at the first thumb again).I'm also trying to make that the middle thumbnail represents the photo in target_mc.
I am making a gallery, which you can view here:[URL]ok, firstly, when you click a thumbnail, you cannot scroll them until you roll off the click thumbnail, and I'm not sure why. is it just a movieclip thing? or can I put some code in to re-get focus of something? ok, now for the two general questions:
1. When you roll over the thumbs, they go up, sometimes they flick back down though, even though you are rolled over them still. is this just because they are moving?
i made buttons for each category tiles. Like beach > basics and so on. if i go into the basics frame (this is when i play it, not inside flash), i can go to the beach, to place beach tiles, and so on. much tidier. but when i use the go back button i made, to change tile category, everything on the map disappears..
I have a flash gallery from tony Yoo, which is great and works really well i have customised some of the layout but would like to have Larger pictures for the category section I cant seem to get my head round this one
I am in search of finding a way to display shopping cart items in a flash 8 datagrid in the order it was chosen by the user & also to ability to delete an item if the user choses. Currently I have the items displaying however they are displaying in a position as it is stored and called in the array. [code]
I have a menu with many sub menus. I need to change the color of the selected button and then move on to the sub menu. My menu is horizontal and now it's not obvious the path that you follow.
I am building a photo gallery in which the images are loaded into a frame_mc and the thumbs are loaded into a movieclip called thumbLoader. The gallery is going to have several categories, every category has its own button and is found on a separate keyframe on the main timeline. When I click the button of a specific category it goes to the appropriate category/gallery. I have a questions:I want to create a horizontal scroll pane for the category buttons but I really do not know the code. For a start, I know I'm going to make the buttons as movie clips, and the scroll pane has to scroll those movie clips. I want to have 2 direction buttons, one that scrolls the category buttons to the right, and the other one to the left.
Is there any way to disable a few columns for a particular row in flex datagrid?
I have a datagrid with about 10 or more columns, say for example a few column names are: Item Id, Item Name, Item Status and VerifiedState. Initially I want the column Verified State to be disabled.
Now When the value of the column, Item Status is Review Passed for a particular row, I want the column VerifiedState to be enabled and editable. Is that possible in Flex datagrid.
