ActionScript 3.0 :: Create A PASTE Event?
Oct 16, 2009Flash says I can only use the Clipboard.getData only in a PASTE event. (CS4 & AS3)
But I don't know how to make a paste event?

When the user is using keyboard shortcuts to paste, there's a way to workaround that shortcoming by listening to various keyboard events in the textfield. Is there a way to detect the paste event when it is originated from a click on the ContextMenu?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Create A Series Of Scripts That Will Create Some Custom Event Listeners?
Nov 14, 2009I'm trying to create a series of scripts that will create some custom event listeners.
I have three movie clips on my stage. One is a movieclip who's sole function is to hold array's and the event listeners. A second which moves around the screen. And a third that is motionless.
The problem is that the argument I want to test (which activates the custom event) is held within a string.
What I want to know is, how do you test to see if the string argument is true?
Is it something similar to this:
var myCode:String="1<0";if(myCode){
trace('one is smaller than 0'); //Strangely apparently one IS smaller than 0!!!
}
I think I'm going about this in the wrong manner, however this is the only way I can think of this working... (since I need to be able to dynamically create these events)

Oct 19, 2006At the moment I create an onEnterFrame function to ease a movie clip into view. I then delete it. I want to be able to recreate a similar onEnter Frame function later to swoosh the movie clip out of view. At the moment weird things happen when I try and do the second onEnterFrame.I know I could put this all in the original onEnterFrame, but I don't wanna be wasting processor time doing an if statement every frame to work out if it's time to swoosh out the movieclip. Or should I not worry because that's negligible cpu time?

May 30, 2009I have animated a slideshow effect where one frame moves out teh way and another moves into framei am happy with it and now want to repeat it with all teh other images in the slideshowthe problem is, when i copy the keyframes (with a tween) on the first image that I did and try and paste them onto the 2nd image in my series, it actualy charges the image as well ! So that the second image becomes the firts image on the keyframes.Is there a way just to copy the opacity and motion animation ONLY ? My guess is there must be because to animate each picture by hand with a custom ease in & out curve would take forvever

Jan 21, 2011I'm trying to work out a better way of doing this animation. I'm working on a project where I need to animate multiple robots picking up parts and dropping them. I've attached a quick demo of the kind of movement I need.At the moment I have a Part MovieClip inside a Robot MovieClip (so it will rotate with the robot) What I can't work out how to do smoothly is, how do I release this Part Movie Clip so I can transfer it to another robot & rotate it following the second robot.I can't seem to copy/paste the Part's last position from the 1st Robot's animation to the 2nd Robot without it changing scale/position. Leaving me to basically position a new copy of the Part MovieClip until it sort of lines up with the old parts and switching between the two in the timeline.

Alpha Setting When Paste In Place?
Dec 6, 2009I am creating smiley faces and then copying them to a banner. I have two fla files open, one has the smiley in it and some layers of the smiley are made up of areas with a alpha setting of less then 100%.When I highlight all of the smiley and copy, then move to the other other open fla file that has a blue banner, and 'paste' the smiley pastes ok but all the areas that have an alpha setting of less than 100% have a blue shade to them from the banner. How do I prevent this and retain the colours I had?

Jan 1, 2010I'd like to copy and paste a set of keyframes and frames at the end of the exisiting timeline... maybe several times to extend the timeline. However I've been a bit flumoxed as to how a simple chore like that is done. It does not appear one can copy the frames, then set the cursor at the end and past the frames ahead of cursor, Or do I have to create multiple layers to get the same effect by placeing them end to end down the timeline.
In the included screen shot, I'd like to copy/paste the frames on layer1 on down the time line but still on layer 1. As you can see I've started using layers to create the same effect... but is that really the way to do it?

Jul 10, 2011I noticed that if you type in tab characters in a Textfield that has embedFonts equal to true and you copy and paste the complete text in that same Textfield, then you loose the tab characters. If no embedded fonts are being used then all works fine.

ActionScript 1/2 :: Dynamically Create OnRelease Event
Oct 27, 2010I got a problem with dynamicaly assigning the onRelease event on my buttons.
I got about 45 buttons and I don't want to create 300 lines of code just to create each of the onRelease events on them so I thought about using a loop (for) to pass through them and assigning the onRelease event. This is what I got and thought would work:

Unfortunately, it does go to "salle" (which is a frame), but the CURRENT_SECTION variable is always set to 43! I can't understand why it would give me 43 on any of the section buttons I click (which ranges from 1 to 42). how I could make this work? I don't like having too much codes in my Flash (I've been using a hell load of loops to make it cleaner).
