View 5 RepliesIm trying to do a drag and drop system where the user can drag a movie clip into an area. Although i would like to make it snap to a target instead of just sitting wherever it lands in the area. Problem Two:
The next thing i am trying to do is when the user has a movie clip on a target already, and trys to put another movie clip in that target area, it will replace the one thats in there and go back to its current position. Here is the script of what i have done so far:

I have some movie clips. i want to drag all clips when i drag single movie clip. Ex. I have movie clips "A1", "A2", "A3", "A4", "A5" . Randomly visible some of them. Suppose "A1", "A3", "A4" has visible. When i will drag "A1" movie clip all these "A3", "A4" also move with "A1".
View 6 Repliesi have load in a .swf and this .swf is make up of one drag object. When i load into my _level0, i can drag it but it seem then the drag is not smooth, instead it is lagging. Thus i went back to the indiviual files and try to drag on it and it was not lagging. ...why is it like that? All the files are still on my local disk.

I'm stuck trying to achieve something in AS2. The principle is easy: the user can drag/throw a timeline (with thumbnails) around, but I want it to snap to certain positions. I've created an example to show what I need. You can already drag/throw the timeline around, but, as it slows down, I want it to always snap into a position where one of the purple rectangles snaps to the grey area so a thumbnail is always covering the grey area. So when you throw the timeline hard enough, it would fly quite far (speed of timeline > attraction force of the snapping points), but as it slows down, the snapping force takes over and the timeline snaps in place.

The clips are instanced into the Main Timeline and occupy Frames 1 and 2 respectively.MovieClip1 is an animation that has navigation buttons that appear at the end of the clip. I'm trying to get mouse click navigation to make Frame 2 on the Main Timeline active.
Here is what I'm trying but it is not working:

this takes the animation to Frame 2 of the Movie Clip Timeline not Frame 2 the Main Timeline.
I want to create a movieClip Button with a script that, when I Click & Drag on it left to right, it will scrub through the timeline of another movieClip. The effect I'm going for is simular to scrubing slowly on a Quicktime Movie to see each frame of the video. Now I'm not talking about controlling an FLV or anything, I want to control the timeline of a movieClip that has been loaded onto the stage. Also, it's OK if I can only scrub forward and not backwards. This is for a flash website.

I have been trying to develop a drag and drop Mr. Potato Head type game for a couple of days now. I am new to AS3 and I have hit a roadblock that I was hoping someone out there could help me get through. My game has 3 separate menus (mouths, hats, and eyes).Each menu is a nested MC which has several dragable objects. Unfortunately, when I move to the next frame on the timeline the object I drug out resets itself and disappears. Is there any way to keep a dragable object on the stage once it has been placed there? I think my problem is more of a logic and structure issue with the way that I set up the game rather than an issue with actionscript.

In order to adapt to my needs i made it a movie with a drag and drop parameter to be loaded in another movie (with loadMovie or loadMovieNum). The problem is than the movie loads, drags but doesnt drops. Even i tried with the example movie and nothing happens.

View 4 RepliesI have my flash document set up in the following way: On the main timeline I have my buttons that I want to play movie clips embedded inside a movie clip on the main timeline.However, when I click each different button, the current movie clip stops playing and then the movie clip corresponding to the button plays.
I want them all to be able to play at once. So for example you push button 1 and the alien plays, but half way through you could click button 2 and the alien clip would keep playing, but also the helicopter clip would begin to play as well.Here is the code I have so far:

I have a flash file which contains two movie clips, one is on frame 1 which contains a button which will navigate you to the other movie clip which is on frame 10 with a frame label that i would like to target.

When my main movie starts, the firsts thing it does is load swf for the user to enter their user name and password. I want this movie (and subsequent such movies) to be able to be dragged around the stage. There are some excellent tutorials & examples on the web but none seems to address my situation. The code:

The button drags fine, but when released over the movieclip nothing happens. I've tried using "_parent.slide1_mc.gotoAndStop(2);" instead to no avail.
so was just testing the Dragging and Dropping of objects in AS3....... for multiple movie clip using the same function.......however it's not working....and doesn't even show an error.........

Basically it means: there will be one picture with the plan of the warehouse and lots of little objects that he could drag onto the plan to see how it would work. (Damn. I am not so good in explaining.) I would like it to work like this: He goes to the page, clicks on button that creates one predrawn object to page and then he could drag it to plan. There are maybe 20 different objects.
