ActionScript 2.0 :: Loading External JPEGs & Fading

Mar 15, 2007

II'm trying to create a title page where two movie clips fade in. One is a dynamic text movie clip, the second is an image that is loaded.[code]I've traced the heck out of this, so all I know is that image_mc seems to only generate a single onEnterFrame event and then stops. It seems that if I comment out the .loadMovie line, the placeholder movie clip fades in properly, so obviously there is something about onEnterFrame events and loadMovie that I don't know.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Fading In External Swf Over Loaded Swf?

Sep 9, 2009

I have an main index.swf that loads external swfs. In these external swf timelines I have fade ins of its content and artwork, so what I'm trying to do is simply have these swfs load over the current loaded one without starting from a blank space, and then I'll remove the replaced swf with removeEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, onEnter);. But I can't figure out how to get the clips to load over each other with my current code.

I'm attempting this by loading them into movieclips. I can't quite figure it out using muliple Loader's, which I'm sure is a way to acheive this.

What happens thus far: the loading swfs replace the current loaded swf, but the loaded swf is blank every other click, and even without the alpha event handler code the swf just replaces the current swf in its movieclip from blank space.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Loading Dynamic Text From An XML - Fading In And Out While Rotating?

Jul 11, 2007

SO i have looked and looked and I am beginning to believe that this may just be impossible to do with Actionscript. Basically i have a backend php file that creates an XML file of randomly selected entries from a Db. That XML file is imported to the swf file, and currently i can rotate through the XML nodes with no problem. Where i am now having issues is trying to have each entry Fade in.........and then fade out. Doing this with tweening is not an option because the tween time period never matches up with the backend actionscript rotation time period.

I have read alot about how you need to embed fonts to make this possible. have done that to no avail. THis can not be that out there of an idea. Basically i have a list of advertiser names and am wanting to rotate through them........but want a little more style than just a hard cut between the entries.

ActionScript 2.0 :: What Is 'fadeIn' Or 'fadeOut'

Jul 12, 2002

I thought it might be a method of the MovieClip-Object, but it's not listed in the actionscript-reference. then I thought, it could be a method defined within the flash-movie itself, but it isn't (at least i couldn't find it). so what is it?
