Im new at actionscript, and I am making a very project. Basicly, I have some thing were there is a page you can get to by beating other parts of the 'game'. I want to add some sort of a password or save feature to people can type in the password of something at the opening screen and jump to that page.
View 1 RepliesFor some reason, in the past few days, the auto complete feature doesn't work well when I'm creating a new class file. I'm trying to write a new class which uses away3D, and even though the auto-complete works well when I start a new AS3 file, it just doesn't work as far as away3D is concerned when I try to create a new AS3 Class file. Other features of the auto-complete don't work as well, for some reason.

They still carry on.

I've found great tutorial about creating XML menu. Originally in the background of button was dynamicaly created shape. AS was adding filter to the shape on MOUSE_OVER state. I created movie clip and wanted to use gotoAndPlay() action to go to one of frames in movie clip on MOUSE_OVER state and MOUSE_OUT. Here's the problem. I've tried few solutions but I failed :/ Always was something wrong, often nothing was working.

So, every frame have one own XML file...When you choose some thumb or list line, you must came to this image in the gallery. Normally, I'd just like to sort the array alphabetically using the name field, which is easy enough using the following code. However, I'd like to create a radio button called 'loadedRadioButton' and when it's click on, I'd like to sort the array on the loaded value first(any items with loaded=true should be at the top, sorted alphabetically), then afterwards, any other items with loaded=false, sorted alphabetically should follow afterwards, how can I do it?

View 1 Repliesoriginal: I really just need to figure out how to center the pictures. here is what I did I have modified the tutorial that I finished to have a bigger stage for bigger pictures. Everything is working properly but the pictures are displayed on the left side, I want to have them centered in the stage for the images, after clicking on the thumbnails, plus my images are different sizes as well. ranging from 200x410 to 744x410 but all are the same height of 410. i will post up what I am talking about at the end. When I get a collection back from the service tier, I create an ArrayCollection and apply a sort. When I add an item to the collection later on, the sort is still in place? It seems to be the case. I thought I was only sorting it once, not applying a sort that will stick??Here is the method for adding an item:

I have a XML file which I am trying to integrate a search feature. I have attached a zipped folder of my working example.In this XML file is a collection of modules: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc...
Each module is broken down further:
1.1has: 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3
1.2has: 1.2.1, 1.2.2, 1.2.3, 1.2.4 etc...
I have a search feature that is searching the XML, then outputting the content if found.Now this is working OK for a specific module listed above, for example, in my zipped example, I can get it to search 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3 etc...
What I can�t seem to get working is how to search all of the modules sections: eg: 1.1: 1.1.1-1.1.x, 1.2: 1.2.1 � 1.2.x and so on depending on how much content is sorted in my XML.

View 5 RepliesI'm making a map with Adobe Flash Professional CS5, using Actionscript 1 & 2, and I'm trying to add the ability to drag and pan while zoomed in. For the zooming, I put a button in either corner: a zoom out icon, and a zoom in icon. For the zoom-in icon, I used the code on (rollOver){ setProperty ("BG", _xscale, "200"); setProperty ("BG", _yscale, "200");} (BG being the name of the instance used for the background of the map, which is a movie clip.) Now, this zooms me in well to one corner, but then i want to be able to drag and pan to be able to see more of the map. I've found some good examples, but the code is way over my newbie head, and I can't get any examples of code I find to work, no matter what I've tried.

titlefield.embedFonts = true;
titlefield.stylesheet = sheet;
but it does not work. if i comment out the embedFonts the css works fine but the text is very aliased. but as3 does not support the embed font property within css.
I heard that ArrayCollection on Flex, so how can I use ArrayCollection like feature in ActionScript 3.0 and Flash IDE.
