ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash Progress Bars Not Working After Publishing Site?

I am working on a portfolio site to display images. I have 2 frames, the first contains a progress bar and this code:

The second frame has the content and different action script that is related to it.
My problem is that the whole site works fine in Flash when i "test movie" and "simulate download" but as soon as i "publish preview" in either flash or html the progress bar doesn't work, it just freezes on that frame.I am really new at this and have just pieced together the code i have from various tutorials on the net but this is really testing my patience. So frustrating because the site took me ages and it looks great in flash, just need to get past this little hitch.

Has anyone seen the issue with the progess bar, when uploading on a system running Windows 7.The progress bars show 100% immediately as the upload is happening, and the site looks like its frozen out - but its not, the upload finishes and the onComplete event is fired! Somebody should write a book about loading and pre loading assets in flash !Im loading a few images using a loop and i store them in a bitmap array.I want to find the proper way to create a progress bar.I think i need to calculate the totalBytes of all the images but i need to it before i load the images....Is there a way to get the file size without loading the image ?That way i could create a loop that will calculate the bytesize of all the images and store it an a variable.and then i could just divide the total bytes with the current bytes of the image and get a progress bar the will represent the exact loading time.

I know there are sites out there when you log on to their account they can play swf games or otherwise flash games on the site so whenever they go to another computer they can continue their progress without restarting just by logging onto their account.

I'm using ActionScript 2 and I already placed the progress bar on the stage assigned it the instance name ProgressBar0 but i'm confused on how to give it a label, have it start at a certain time and end at a certain and show the percentage complete in the label.

Back in 1999, I taught myself how to use Flash (it was before Actionscript). I used it to make a funny website called Mirsk-T: [URL]..I also created some basic HTML on the site's front page to determine whether a visitor had Flash version 4 installed. If the person didn't, then the person would see a page with a link to Adobe's download site.
Now, it's 12 years later and I haven't used Flash since I created Mirsk-T in 1999. I also haven't done any HTML coding either. But I'm having problems getting Mirsk-T to work with certain browsers. The site works fine with Safari, Internet Explorer 6 and 7, and OmniWeb. However, when I access the site with Firefox or Chrome or Camino, I see the GIF image I created that appears when a visitor doesn't have Flash installed. And I know I have Flash installed on those browsers.
I therefore have no idea why the site isn't working with those browsers.
A few more details: The Mirsk-T site consists of two different pages. The opening page is at www.mirskt.com (www.mirskt.com/index.html). It consists of a Flash movie that is a song with animated lyrics. Once the song ends, visitors are taken to [URL]..The page with the song is what's not loading in Firefox, Camino and Chrome. If I directly put [URL]..into the browser bar of Firefox, Chrome and Camino, that part of the site works. So, there's something strange going on with the HTML in the page with the song. I'm guessing the HTML I had written back in 1999 for detecting Flash is not working anymore somehow.
So, I'm wondering if anyone has any idea why the front page (the Flash movie with the song) isn't working in some browsers. I don't know if I'm skilled enough to be able to change the HTML even if someone here knows what's wrong. But then maybe someone here could do me a favor and quickly fix the index.html file. I'm guessing it would only take a few minutes for someone who knows what he/she is doing.

My Flash file is working but the html will not open and play. I've never had this issue before. I brought into Dreamweaver and saved it out hoping that might make a difference but still the same.

I have a project that I want to port to mobile platform on Android and iOS.The project uses a v.addEventListener(VideoEvent.COMPLETE, completePlay) handler to detect when video is finished playing and trigger the next action.
The project is running perfecty when publishing for Air or Flash Player 9 and above.However when just changing the target player for publishing to Air for Android or iOS the following error occours:Access of possibly undefined property COMPLETE through a reference with static type Class.

I have a project that works perfectly when I publish it for Flash Player. However, when I publish it in AIR (which the final project needs to be published in), selective MovieClip symbols lose their tweens. One contains a dynamic text box field thats updated with data input from the user, the other just contains static text. Other movie clip symbols have tweens that still work just fine, and other symbols like buttons are tweening fine.

It's hard to explain, so here's how you can see the problem. Run the .fla below, wait for the animation to stop, and click the "services" star. Two more stars appear: "design and production" and "editorial." If you click on "design and production" first, everything works fine. You can get to editorial and everywhere else. BUT if you click on "editorial" first (after clicking "services" but before clicking "design and production"), the "design and production" button doesn't work from there (the "editorial" label frames in the "inline_frame" movie clip).
I've got several Actions keyframes in the "inline_frame" movie clip--I don't know if that's kosher or not.

I have created two photo slideshows to put on a site I'm working on. One is on the home page and it seems to work fine. The second is on another page. This one is not working for some reason. I published it in the same way I did the first from Flash Professional. When I post the slide show on the home page it works. When I take the slidshow from the homepage and put it on the second it does not work.

I produced a website a year ago now, and up until now it has been working fine. My client brought to my attention today that there are suddenly problems when viewing the site in chrome, IE and safari. You cannot get past the landing page as the 'enter' button is not there despit the graphics being in the right place.I have updated to flash player 10.1, and opened, published and uploaded the flash file in a newer version of flash to see whether that helped, but no go.

I had designed and setup a flash website for a client a while ago and just recently they emailed me saying their website doesn't work in Google Chrome or Safari. I have SWF Object 2 on the website and that doesn't seem to help. The flash component of the website doesn't show up at all yet works fine in IE and FF. What could be the issue here?

I've published Mac projector files and .exe file from Flash CS4 for several months without issue. For the past week when I've published Mac projector files the .app icon appears on my desktop but when I try to play the file the dock opens but the file doesn't play. Any Mac projector files I published prior to this problem play fine.I've tried creating a new .fla file and have reinstalled Flash but I'm still having the problem. EXE files and SWF files play fine. Also, the Mac projector files publish at about half the file size they did before this problem, while the EXE and SWF files are the same size.

I'm trying to create a simple application that streams the webcam to FMS 4.5 (running on a Windows 7 machine), and then displays the published stream locally. Here's my code:

All traces in the event handlers show the NetConnection connecting successfully, and the netstream publishing successfully. However, I get no video output from this. I've confirmed this using the sample video player in FMS 4.5 as well. There is also a weird traffic pattern reported in the FMS Admin console.There is some traffic (~4K) when the NetStream first publishes, but after that there is no activity.

My full screen flash site works oerfectly on Mac's (I have a mac). But on PC IE and Firefox the full screen flash site is cut off 1/4 of the way down the page (see screen shots in zip or test if you are on PC). live site [URL] The site uses a swf object (files included in the zip). I got this from a template on flashDen. my problem is that I only have my mac and can't test on PC IE / firefox. Not that I would know where to start. I think that the problem might be the swf object from [URL] but not sure? I need to sure my site to apply for jobs. But recruiters use PC and it is very embarrassing that they can only see 1/4 of the screen.

I'm currently enrolled in an ActionScript course, and cannot seem to get my progress bar to work correctly. We were tasked with creating a simple image loader application, which would access externally hosted images (through use of a PHP proxy script), and then spit the image onto the user's screen (with a progress event and progress bar to track the image's download progress).
However, when I run it, I get these mysterious black graphical glitches everywhere, as well as a non-functioning progress bar. In some browsers I get the following error: "ArgumentError: Error #2109: Frame label NaN not found in scene NaN. at flash.display.MovieClip/gotoAndStop() at Document/imageLoadProgress().
Here is my code - I cant for the life of me figure out what is wrong. I figure it has something to do with the imageLoadProgress() function, or my progress bar (which is just a simple 100-frame movie clip with a motion tween and a "stop()" command at the beginning).

On my stage I have a mc (videoLoader) with the mc (loadBar) inside it. When I preview the movie it shrinks loadBar to where it should, but it doesn't expand as the video loads.

I have a scroll pane component that I dynamically add movie clip objects too (Which are actually pictures).However when I dynamically add the movie clip objects to the scroll pane the scroll bars don't appear.I have both scroll bars set to auto and I even tried adding in an event listener to update the scroll pane...

Like I said the scroll bars don't get updated and in fact the event for the scroll pane, IE updateScrollPane() never actually gets called!!!

I have an SWF movie (1375 frames) and created a progress bar (248px wide) with a slider that moves according to the movie progress. I'm doing that next way:Calculating the distance for the slider to be moved each frame (248 / 1375) On each ENTER_FRAME moving the slider for the calculated distance The problem is - the movie ends far before the slider reaches the end of the progress bar.
I'm thinking that the distance (Step 1) is is somehow ends floored by Flash and the actual distance it moves the slider is smaller than required. That's why the movie ends, but the timeline control just passed the 2/3 of its way. My question is - is there any solution for the problem? Or any other way to go, if it's a wrong one?

I am using full screen flash to make my flash movie fill the browser window. I also, need for it to have a scroll bar, as it's 1400 pixels vertical. For normal full screen flash, you set the height and width to 100 percent. But because I needed a scroll bar, I changed the height to "1400" pixels instead. This created the scroll bar I needed, but it only works in Internet Explorer, and not firefox or safari. How I could ensure that I have a scrollbar on all browsers?
