I have created two photo slideshows to put on a site I'm working on. One is on the home page and it seems to work fine. The second is on another page. This one is not working for some reason. I published it in the same way I did the first from Flash Professional. When I post the slide show on the home page it works. When I take the slidshow from the homepage and put it on the second it does not work.
View 1 RepliesBack in 1999, I taught myself how to use Flash (it was before Actionscript). I used it to make a funny website called Mirsk-T: [URL]..I also created some basic HTML on the site's front page to determine whether a visitor had Flash version 4 installed. If the person didn't, then the person would see a page with a link to Adobe's download site.
Now, it's 12 years later and I haven't used Flash since I created Mirsk-T in 1999. I also haven't done any HTML coding either. But I'm having problems getting Mirsk-T to work with certain browsers. The site works fine with Safari, Internet Explorer 6 and 7, and OmniWeb. However, when I access the site with Firefox or Chrome or Camino, I see the GIF image I created that appears when a visitor doesn't have Flash installed. And I know I have Flash installed on those browsers.
I therefore have no idea why the site isn't working with those browsers.
A few more details: The Mirsk-T site consists of two different pages. The opening page is at www.mirskt.com (www.mirskt.com/index.html). It consists of a Flash movie that is a song with animated lyrics. Once the song ends, visitors are taken to [URL]..The page with the song is what's not loading in Firefox, Camino and Chrome. If I directly put [URL]..into the browser bar of Firefox, Chrome and Camino, that part of the site works. So, there's something strange going on with the HTML in the page with the song. I'm guessing the HTML I had written back in 1999 for detecting Flash is not working anymore somehow.
So, I'm wondering if anyone has any idea why the front page (the Flash movie with the song) isn't working in some browsers. I don't know if I'm skilled enough to be able to change the HTML even if someone here knows what's wrong. But then maybe someone here could do me a favor and quickly fix the index.html file. I'm guessing it would only take a few minutes for someone who knows what he/she is doing.
I have a Template that I bought for a client that wanted it. It has background looping music and my customer wants to add videos (FLV), no problem. Now she wants the background music to sop when the FLVs are playing and start when I exit the FLV and go to another portion of the site. I hope I am being clear.
I need the background music to sop playing when the FLV videos are playing. I have Google and found nothing really.
I would like to make a portion of a site that is stimulated from the mouse being moved. So, as the user moves their mouse I want the timeline to change (for an image will load on each new timeline). So, it will be kind of like a flip book that is activated by the mouse moving. Hopefully that makes sense. Each scene a person will be moving (new picture in a new frame) as the mouse moves up or down.

View 3 RepliesI created a xml flash slide show that works great when I select test movie, but when I try to open the swf in a browser like firefox it does not work. The file comes up, but the images never get loaded in.
The XML file calls for the images that are in a child directory. The parent directory has the swf and xml file in it.
I am using a flash slideshow everything is working fine but that slideshow is not working on Iphone/Ipad environment.

I've got a nearly completed Flash site, but one of the buttons isn't working--sometimes.
It's hard to explain, so here's how you can see the problem. Run the .fla below, wait for the animation to stop, and click the "services" star. Two more stars appear: "design and production" and "editorial." If you click on "design and production" first, everything works fine. You can get to editorial and everywhere else. BUT if you click on "editorial" first (after clicking "services" but before clicking "design and production"), the "design and production" button doesn't work from there (the "editorial" label frames in the "inline_frame" movie clip).
I've got several Actions keyframes in the "inline_frame" movie clip--I don't know if that's kosher or not.

View 2 RepliesMaking a photo slideshow to load as an external movie clip on my site when a button is pushed. Here is a link to the .swf file: [URL]. There is text that describes each set of 6 pictures. After the set of 6 pictures plays through the text is supposed to disappear and a new text appears to label the next set of 6 pictures. Problem is: the text doesn't disappear! I made all the text layers a symbol/movie clip. I animated each text to disappear at a certain point in the timeline but when I test the movie the texts just remain there and build up one after the other. When watching the movieclip, pay attention to the text in the lower left screen.

My client brought to my attention today that there are suddenly problems when viewing the site in chrome, IE and safari. You cannot get past the landing page as the 'enter' button is not there despit the graphics being in the right place.I have updated to flash player 10.1, and opened, published and uploaded the flash file in a newer version of flash to see whether that helped, but no go.

I am working on a portfolio site to display images. I have 2 frames, the first contains a progress bar and this code:

The second frame has the content and different action script that is related to it.
My problem is that the whole site works fine in Flash when i "test movie" and "simulate download" but as soon as i "publish preview" in either flash or html the progress bar doesn't work, it just freezes on that frame.I am really new at this and have just pieced together the code i have from various tutorials on the net but this is really testing my patience. So frustrating because the site took me ages and it looks great in flash, just need to get past this little hitch.
I had designed and setup a flash website for a client a while ago and just recently they emailed me saying their website doesn't work in Google Chrome or Safari. I have SWF Object 2 on the website and that doesn't seem to help. The flash component of the website doesn't show up at all yet works fine in IE and FF. What could be the issue here?
View 2 RepliesMy full screen flash site works oerfectly on Mac's (I have a mac). But on PC IE and Firefox the full screen flash site is cut off 1/4 of the way down the page (see screen shots in zip or test if you are on PC). live site [URL] The site uses a swf object (files included in the zip). I got this from a template on flashDen. my problem is that I only have my mac and can't test on PC IE / firefox. Not that I would know where to start. I think that the problem might be the swf object from [URL] but not sure? I need to sure my site to apply for jobs. But recruiters use PC and it is very embarrassing that they can only see 1/4 of the screen.

View 1 RepliesI'm new to Flash and I need to learn how to do a slideshow with exactly the same features as can be found in this link: [URL]. Just like at the link above, it needs to play through the slides automatically once the page is loaded, each slide needs to link to a specific URL, and I need controls similar to the boxes at the bottom so the viewer can click on any specific slide they wish to view (I'd like to have numbers in the boxes though). The transitions don't have to slide across like this. If a fade is easier, that would be fine.
Actually, I thought I'd be able to do this fairly easily with Flash Catalyst, so I updated to Adobe CS5 Design Premium. I found that Flash Catalyst can be used to create a slide show like this, but unfortunately it won't play automatically when the page loads and the viewer has to manually click through the slides, which is not what I need. I could be wrong, but from what I've read, I need Flash Builder to add code so the slide show will play automatically if I create it in Flash Catalyst.

There are some users that see white space (the stage) before thefirst image loads. Depending on the clients connection, etc this can take aslong as 2 or 3 sec.
I was thinking about placing a jpeg in the fla, and adding it to the stageas a symbol or graphic, so instead of white space (or a color other than white)the user sees an image on the page, and when the xml loader places the first image on the page, the user sees the image, and the slideshow, etc.
I'd like the slideshow to have a black boarder box with a white background. I've got two buttons which I have made in Photoshop for previous and next image. I want the background of the slideshow to be white and images to be placed into this box for the user to be able to manually go through the images.

I'm in the middle of building a simple flash slideshow, using alpha fades between images. I have three layers, the first one being text, on the timeline for each layer/image. The other two layers are images, small footprint (sized and optimized in photoshop, each less than 100k). When I hit the Enter key it will play on timeline but the preview and fla file just won't start, hung up on the first frame.
