Didn't get any takers on the last question so I thought I would try again. I am getting a compiler error when I try to use a gotoAndStop function in a static method in one class that is being activated by a button in another class.Line 33 1180: Call to a possibly undefined method gotoAndStop.Here is the code for the Main Script

I made a very simple video player. It's working very nice in all browsers. The issue is only with IE9. The video is playing only on the first visit of the page. For example you open the page, you watch the video, click the back button and decide to visit the same page ... and the video is not showing at all. If you refresh the page the video appears again. I asked some people to test it and they have the same issue. Is this an IE9 / FP 10.3 bug?[code]

This is a re-opened case because some goblins entered my house during the night and sabotaged my script Everything was fine last night.  Everything ran as it should.

now doesn't work. The php script is not being run. I have checked the following:

1. server is ON
2. no file names have changed
3. the php script works when I run it manually
 
The above code just isn't passing the value "nature" to the script. On the php side I have:

In my original thread my answer was given and I only needed to take the information and tweak it to make it apply throughout other instances in the code.This is marked as answered. The way I constructed the code heBecause each Movie Clip is individually handled, I was explained by Ned Murphy on this forum that I need to insert code for each individual clip to send it back to start when it comes off the stage because it is structured to go to infinity with the movie symbols continuing on their path.I get that. ittle code to add was provided for an example clip that started at the top of the stage  and went down, then when it goes off the stage, go back. In this case it was for MovieClip_1  (Out of 15) The red was the additional code (Provided by Ned Murphy who is IMHO a Guru here) that was added :

I have a movie clip on the stage and have given it the instance name "team1". inside this movie clip there are two states. at frame1 it says one thing, then at frame 10 has an image. team1 stops at frame 1 and what i want to do is when the main time line reaches say frame 50, i want the team1 movie clip to gotoAndStop at frame 10, thus showing the image and not the text. i tried doing it by putting this on the main timeline at frame 50: team1.gotoAndStop("team");

I preface this with the disclaimer that I'm new to flash and actionscript and I've read the tutorials on this site and others regarding depths, levels, this, and loadmovie. I have a problem with scope I believe in some AS while using the loadmovie() function. I am loading multiple instances (5) of the the same .swf on _level0 of my main movieclip using createEmptyMovieClip and LoadMovie. When I play the main MC the loaded swfs complete thier initial animation but do not respond to onrollover events. Here's the AS for the main MC:

Underlined Text On (rollOver) Is there an action script to do on (rollover) underline text? It would be on a button that would also, on (release) gotoAndPlay a frame. I know you can have a movie with AS like this:

But when I add the on (release) to the movie it doesnt advance the timeline on (release). And when I change the file to a button instead of a movie clip it doesnt do the underline on (rollOver).

Flash - Adobe Air GotoandStop Do Not Work

I have some movie clip with two different childs on it: "instruction" and "back_anim". They have the same structure, except one thing: "instruction" have classic tween, "back_anim" have "shape tween". I'm running it on Adobe Air 2.6 for Android. On each of this childs are two labels: "show", "hide". All stop frames present. And I have such a code to controll them:

But!!! "instruction" - plays well, "back_anim" - enters to endless cycle on stop frame.

Next frame after stop frame - all ok.

gotoAndStop() doesn't work. I am using Flash CS3. My code is simple:

on(release) {
_root.gotoAndStop("menu");
}

I put that code into a button. The menu frame is three frames behind the frame that I put the button on. If I replace the "menu" with "game", it works. The game frame is one frame behind the frame the button is on. What happens is instead of going to the menu frame, it flickers to the menu frame, then reloads the lose frame, which is where the button is. I know that it reloads because I have a dynamic text field that throws a random insult when you enter that frame. I can assure you. I have already double checked and triple checked that the frame label is correct. And the menu frame has stop() in it. I'm not that stupid, alright?

i have never actually got the flash-actionscript code execution order.in flash pro i have an instance of a moveiclip on stage in frame one named tree1 and on frame 3 i have on the stage tree3.in the document class i have this code:

var scaleFactor:Number = tree1.scaleX;
gotoAndStop(3);
tree3.scaleX = scaleFactor;

while this works when testing on the desktop, this app will go mobile at the end.is this the correct way to go or should i register for a frameComplete event before accessing instances on a certain frame

I'm trying to achieve is this: when you roll over one of the citymarks on my map, it drops up/down depending on the mark and where it is with three buttons for tourist sites in the area. Well, I'm using timeline animation and gotoAndStop() to go forward and backward nice and smoothly. I've got a mask applied for the menu, and that works fine, but when I compile I get this error:

I have tested with frame number it works, it doesn't with label name. Is it possible ? In main.as:

-Autoplay when someone first visits

-NOT autoplay when that same visitor has been to another site page and returns to the homepage
 
My last frame has a "replay" button and that is where I would like to go when I am revisited for a second time (when a variable is present?)

I have a mc that I use as a stop/play button for music. One the main stage there are 3 of these buttons for 3 different songs. One frame one of each MC there is a triangle for play with this code:

stop();
btn_play.onRelease = function (){
stopAllSounds();
gotoAndPlay(2);
}

Then on frame 2 there is a square for stop with this code:

stop();
btn_stop.onRelease = function (){
gotoAndStop(1);
stopAllSounds();
}

It works fine as far as stopping and playing. The stopAllSounds is to prevent the music from overlapping in case the user didn't press stop before playing a different song.If the user presses play to hear a song then wants to hear another song so he decides to click play on a different song without first clicking the stop button there a problem.The problem is that he is still stopped on frame 2 of the first song therefor the square is still visible. In this case in order to hear the first song again he would have to double click.

Is there any way, from the main timeline, I can tell it onRelease of a specific button within a specific buttion to make a different mc to got frame 1?

I've got a strange thing in attached fla: my gotoAndStop command won't go past a photo?First I've got the 'background' layer. On it is a red rectangle on frame 1 and 2. Frame 3 changes it into a jpg.

On the actions layer I've got a gotoAndStop(4), which should show the photo and trace a command. But it won't get past the red square? It's like the jpg photo blocks the gotoandStop(or Play for that matter) command. It doesn't trace to prove that the gotoAndStop command is executed on frame 4 and it keeps showing the red square on frame 1 and 2. Where it should show the photo which has already been placed on frame 3. when I replace the photo with a normal Flash shape (rectangle e.g.) it works fine.

But I have ran into another snag. This is what I currently have: A MovieClip for the quiz. 10 more MovieClips one for each question. 2 buttons inside question (btnCheck and btnNext). 4 radio buttons to select then click btnCheck to check the answer. Then click btn Next to move to the next question. The functions inside the movie clips are setting the variables outside the question clips perfectly. What I want to do is to eliminate the btnCheck and have it check the answer when the radio button group is selected.
