ActionScript 3.0 :: How To Close FLV Player When Stream Ends

I need to have a flv player pop open when a button is clicked on a html page and when the flv video gets to the end the player disappears. What I envisage happening is: Button clicked, loads swf into empty <div> and chosen flv plays, in the script (AS3) I possibly have a listener that detects when stream has ended and closes the swf (popup). The only thing is i have no idea what the AS would be for this. This is the effect I am after [URL] (the video link).
I am creating a touch screen interactive for a museum. I have a AS2 button opening a AS3 swf file popup (no html). This AS3 file shows a movie.How can I get the pop-up to close down when the move has finished without the use of a button.I have a button option too.The movie is an FLVPlayback obviously linked fro an FLV file. (so only 1 frame is showing)This is the only thing I can't work out. It's the last thing on the project.
I'm trying to create a webpage that will close itself when an mp3 audio file finishes playing. Right now I'm trying to do this simply by playing the mp3 from a keyframe in the timeline as an event. On the timeline I've placed a blank keyframe with an ActionScript attached to it that looks like this:

I'm sure this has been asked and answered a million times, but searching for "application" "buffer" "cache" "live" and "hls" isn't giving me any answers, so let's get to it. After I end a live stream (which I do using FMLE 3.2 and FMS 4.5) and I then start a new live stream with the same application name, the HLS stream just loops the last 30 seconds of the old stream. To prevent this, after I end a stream, I have to go to applicationslivepkgstreams\_definst_ and delete the buffered data there. Only then can I start a new stream with the same name as the old stream. Now... that can't be normal, can it? Is there a switch somewhere I can set to tell FMS to cut it out and stop buffering old streams?
I am stumbling across this issue as I open and close a sound stream. This is the code I use, not sure if closing and opening a stream on the same function is a good idea.
I'm loading an image into a container. The container is simply a loader object with a progress event listener and a complete event listener. It is loaded when a thumb is clicked in the gallery and it displays the image larger.Basically it is possible to interrupt the loading process of the current load stream and load something else by clicking another thumb in the gallery before it's complete.
If you call loader.close() when nothing is loading, Flash will call back an error saying that there is no stream attached to the loader object.Is there a way to test if the loader object is presently loading, and if so to close it?
I don't think there is much to add to the subject. It is a bug, anyhow. Let's say I am playing content from publisher which is displayed in a video. I then close the stream, and issue a play call for content B on this same stream object. If publisher B is slow enough (no new data arrives for a short while), I manage to catch a glimpse of OLD UNRELATED content from publisher A! Why is this, and is there anything I can do about it? By the way Video.clear is broken in Flash Player 10, and that's public knowledge. However, I am not sure the clear method alleviates the problem. Even if you clear the video, the stale data appears afterwards anyway.
What is the actionscript required to close a Flash player window? I want to run a flash movie on my computer that has a button which closes the window, but in Actionscript 3 I cannot add actions to the button.
What I'm trying to do is have a cleanup/data save function run when Flash detects that the player is being closed (i.e. user clicks the X to close button on the flashplayer window).
Is there some event that fires when this happens, or a deconstructor I can put in my Main class to make this happen? I've searched around a bit and not found anything for a standalone flash app.
Whenever I compile my project using FlashDevelop in 'Debug' the Flash Player window remains after I have clicked the 'Stop' button in Flash Develop. I have to then switch over to the flash player, click through any error messages and then close the player, which wastes a lot of time in the long run.Any way to make it so Flash Player closes when I click 'Stop' in the Flash Develop debug tools? EDIT: My setup is a fresh install of Windows 7, a new copy of Flash Develop 4 and Flash Player 10.
I am trying to make a multimedia player where has different pages:
- about us
- our videos
- contact us
now on the "our videos" page there are 12 thumbnails (reading from an xml file) and by clicking on them the video player shows the proper video. Till now I have been able to set it up. But when someone wants to go back to the about us, contact us ext. the player and the thumbnails still remain.How can I close them when page navigates away from that specific frame (lets say for example all of this is done on frame 150)?I would like the thumbnails and player to close when we navigate away from that frame.[code]

I bought a template for my fiance's music band and also I bought I music player for Demo songs. I integrated it successfully into the website but unfortunately when I try to close the music player the only the site is closing, the music is going to continiue playing in background.

The problem is I've a slow internet connection, and the video doesn't buffer like in YouTube. Therefore I was wondering weather I can extract the url of the .flv file which is being streamed in JW Player and directly download it. Doing some preliminary research, I've found the following info:
i feel like a fool right now. i'm working on a streaming (rtmp) player and i can't get it to stream .flv files. .mov .mp4 stream fine..
it sees the flv fine , loads it. runs the logic, but it never fills the buffer. it just hangs on "event.info.code: NetStream.Play.Start"
the .mov / .mp4 buffers and plays fine.
i've tested the flv with other player so i know it works.
i made and flv player that dosn't play flvs.... what a fail

Recently i had developed an as3 videoplayer for a section of a webpage. The player loads the links for the videos from an xml file. It had been tested locally and it works great. BUT when i uploaded the entire "site" on my web server - surprize The stream does not start. And i don't understand why. I've uploaded the exact structure ... and i also know that it reads well from the xml file, cause it loads the video thubnails and names ... just the video won't start.

need to create a player to stream audio files (mp3 and other audio extentions) in my website. To create this player I used flash cs3 and actionscript3.I found actionscript 2 is easyer to creat and get duration (mysound.duration) but in ac3 I can't get sound duration with this syntext : "mySound.duration"attention : In ActionScript3 BEFORE loading is completed , I need my audio file in player to show duration and displayed minute and second in the stage.I tried so many solutions in the internet but all of them provide sound duration AFTER loading is Completed (but I need sound duration BEFORE loading is Completed)attention : My audio files are multi bitrate rang exp.(24 kbs , 34kbs , 128kbs or higher).I am trying to get audio DURATION of audio "total bytes" but these solutions just are right for only 128kbs audios.
I created this very simple MP3-player. Which works good for most part I think, but there's one problem. If I click on the play-button and skip quickly through to the next track, while the first track wasn't even playing yet, I get to hear both songs mixed through eachother when they both finished loading. Apparently the first track was still loading. I'm building videochat functionality for a site, using Wowza as the streaming server. I've noticed that when I use the chat on a page hosted on another machine (EC2 in this case) it pixelates, but when I just view a local html file referencing a local copy of the player, there's no problem. I'm not sure why, because even the local copy of the player is sending an outgoing video stream and reading another stream from the streaming server. The only differences between the perfect quality/annoyingly pixelated versions are:
The actual page is hosted locally/nonlocally The .swf file is hosted locally/nonlocally. Does anyone know if downloading the flash player degrades the streams that play in it? And if so, is there any way to get around this?

I'm trying to stream live video for the first time. I've installed FMIS 3.5 without Apache 2.2. I'm confused on the RTMP/HTTP protocol usage,I can only have port 80 opened on our FMIS 3.5 box.
I'm playing live stream supporting FMLE from FMS. There is no problem with playing if we are starting at first the player and then we are starting the stream with FMLE. The video skipping problem is occurs only if we are starting first the stream with FMLE and than our player.The versions: FMLE 3.0.1.5963, FMIS 4.0.0, Flash Player 10.1.53.64, and codec h.264 Is this a bug in FMS/FMLE or I'm doing something wrong?
